Dead Man Logan #10 Writer: Ed Brisson | Artist: Mike Henderson | Colourist: Nolan Woodard | Letters: Cory Petit
After a couple of issues of scene setting for Logan’s return to The Wastelands we get an action heavy issue. This is a smart move by Brisson as it gets the metaphorical adrenaline pumping in reading terms. With only two issues left now you feel we are going to get a climatic conclusion and some emotional wrap up. After ten issues I think it is safe to say that for future re-reads this maxi series can stand on its own. It doesn’t need to rely on the success and nostalgia of Mark Millar’s original ‘Old Man Logan’ story. Across this series Brisson has stayed true to that but also added a lot of fresh new elements to give it its own feel. One of those elements set up last issues, pays off...

Weapon x #27 Writers: Greg Pak & Fred Van Lente | Artists: Luca Pizzari, Alberto Alburquerque, Roberto Di Salvo & Ibraim Roberson | Colourist: Frank D’Armata | Letters: Chris Eliopoulos
So after twenty seven issues Weapon X reaches is end. It has been one hell of a ride. A ride which has largely been enjoyable. A long the way we have had solid interior art work, brilliant covers and stories that moved at full throttle. Before this issue I hadn’t heard any official news of the series coming to an end, I just assumed that to be the case when it wasn’t any the January solicitations. My feeling is it was a result of low sales. Because while the issue feels like a good end point for the story arc it doesn’t feel a satisfactory conclusion for the whole team and the series so far. However there are some interesting plot points...

Dead Man Logan #1 Writer: Ed Brison | Artist: Mike Henderson | Colourist: Nolan Woodard | Letters: Cory Petit
I know this is Wolverine Wednesday but Glob may be my new favourite character. I hope he is around for all twelve issues of this series. By having him involved he provides light relief to what is going to be a bleak and sad story. Also it provides a different angle on Logan’s relationship with the younger X-Men. Over the years we have been used to seeing him with young female sidekicks/protoges, so Glob makes for a change. I’m all caught up on the newly launched Uncanny X-Men too. Also written by Glob it too includes good Glob. Perhaps Brisson can write a Glob mini? On to the issue… It is a well crafted and solid introduction to a twelve issue series. The amount of prior information that is needed for set...
