- John Hannah was born on April 4, 1951 in Canton, Georgia, USA.
- New England Patriots offensive tackle, 1973-1985. Best known for his friendship with teammate Leon Gray; the two engaged in a famous contract holdout against the Patriots in the first three games of the 1977 season. He retired after Superbowl XX and, in 1991, became the first career Patriots player inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.

- Named as a guard to the NFL's All-Decade teams of the 1970s and 1980s.
- Won the NFL Players Association's Offensive Lineman of the Year award four straight years, 1978-1981.
