T-Pain says he plans to continue to write country music songs as a ghostwriter.
The singer-songwriter-producer recently made headlines when he revealed that he stopped taking credit for the country songs he’s worked on because of the “racism” he dealt with in the genre.
“I wrote a lot of country songs, and the country songs that I get credit on — I wouldn’t say backlash or anything like that — but [there] was a lot of criticism of, ‘Why did they let a Black person be a part of this?’ or things like that. It was just a lot of that stuff. So I kind of just backed off from putting my name on things and just collect the money,” he tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I don’t need to be known for any of that. That’s fine.”
“I’m a ghostwriter [and] it’s just easier,” he continues. “Why not?...

The Challenge: Battle For a New Champion star Jay Starrett indicated that he doesn’t mind all the criticism and “hate” he’s getting from viewers.
Jay returned for the 39th season of MTV’s competition show after teaming up with Michele Fitzgerald on the previous season, Ride or Dies.
With Michele and Jay among the few veteran cast members on Battle For a New Champion, they had friendships with many individuals in the house.
That allowed them to orchestrate a significant alliance and get the many people working with them to follow their plan.
It also made for a dramatic move in Episode 16, when Jay’s friend of five years, Nurys Mateo, was left in the bottom three and went into elimination.
While Nurys’ friend, Olivia Kaiser, could’ve saved her instead of choosing Moriah Jadea, Jay seemed the most upset over Nurys’ fate, resulting in host Tj Lavin...

Ashanti & Nelly’s Relationship Timeline(Photo Credit –Instagram)
Ashanti and Nelly, one of the most high-profile couples in the music world, took over the internet when they rekindled their romance after a decade. They have once again made news as the source has claimed the singer/actress is allegedly pregnant. The rumors started after the couple at Nelly’s Black and White Ball in St Louis. Their relationship dates back a decade, and, as they say, no matter how far apart two hearts drift away, they are meant to be; they will find a way to be together.
The couple has also worked together, and their collaborative song Body On Me, also featuring Akon, is one of the most notable works and is still loved by the fans. They always kept their romantic life low-key and were shy about their relationship. However, the songstress spoke about what went wrong between them sometime after the breakup.

Steve Aoki has been a household name for the last two decades, but that hasn’t stopped him from perpetually experimenting — bounding from one sound to the next — and challenging how his music is consumed, understood, and memorialized.
“There’s no one doing what I’m doing,” he tells Rolling Stone when reflecting on HiROQUEST 2: Double Helix, an expansive 23-track album released Friday. The ambitious project simultaneously spans country, latin, and dance — building on Aoki’s early roots while embracing today’s appetite for genre-breaking music. Paris Hilton, Akon,...

Nelly Headlining ‘Hot In Herre’ Festival In Toronto, Featuring Akon, Ja Rule & More 2000s Throwbacks
Nelly has announced his first-ever “Hot In Herre” music festival, full of nostalgic throwbacks.
Nelly loaded the festival with a list of classic and timeless artists from the 2000s, including Ne-Yo, Akon, T.I., Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Ja Rule, Chingy and Keri Hilson. Seeing as Nelly was Billboard’s third biggest artist of the 2000-2010 decade, it makes sense why the rap icon would highlight the decade.
The festival will take place in Toronto at Downsview Park on June 24, 2023. In a recent press release, he explained why he chose the 6ix for the festival’s location and how much it means to him to perform in the city.

Kardinal Offishall still remembers a time when nobody wanted to hire him. And he means nobody.
“Everybody turned me down: Gap, Foot Locker,” the Toronto-born rapper and music executive tells Et Canada. “The only thing I never applied for was McDonald’s, and that’s because there’s no way I was going to work at McDonald’s. But everybody fronted on me, so you know, it was music or bust.”
Thankfully, the music thing turned out alright. Today, Offishall is a Canadian hip hop god, gifting us some of the nation’s most groundbreaking and unimpeachable hits, from the Rascalz’s 1998 classic “Northern Touch” (which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year) to 2008’s “Dangerous” with Akon, which made him the first Canuck rapper to land on the Billboard Top 100 chart.

Inna presents the first part of the album “Just Dance“, six songs which were composed and produced in just 16 days. Taking her creative process to the next level, Inna isolated herself in the Dance Queen’s House for two-weeks to create music, documenting the artistic process behind her work across three seasons. “Just Dance #DQH1” is the exciting debut release of this third season, seeing the artist teaming up with producers and composers from Global Records such as Marco & Seba, Alex Cotoi and Iraida, working on tracks with an atypical, uptempo, energetic and bold sound. The album’s track list includes “I’ll Be There”, “Just Dance”, “Nothing I Won’t Do”, “Something About You”, “Start a Fire” and “We Should Get Lost”; eclectic, true party anthems that are released with special dedicated visuals created by Florin Burlacu and Andrei Via.

“The Devil Wears Prada” and “27 Dresses” writer Aline Brosh McKenna’s directorial debut “Your Place Or Mine” stars Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher. A strong ensemble cast includes Steve Zahn, Jesse Williams, Tig Notaro and Zoe Chao along with Wesley Kimmel. The film heads to Netflix Friday, Feb. 10.
Peter (Kutcher) lives in New York where he looks forward to change in his consulting job and love life. Debbi (Witherspoon) lives in Los Angeles with her son Jack (Kimmel), and she clings to structure and routine. The two are exact opposites, but they have been best friends for 20 years ever since they had a one-night stand that didn’t go anywhere. Peter loves “The Cars,” and the film contains quite a few of their hits.
For Debbie, McKenna wrote the film’s original song “Embers” with the film’s composer Siddhartha and Alan DeMoss, who produced and mixed the score.

Nothing beats a good villain theme. Yet despite being the world's dominant media franchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn't produced many memorable character themes (I'll defer an explanation to Every Frame a Painting), and there are even fewer villains with a signature leitmotif.
That doesn't mean they don't have unofficial villain songs, though. In a recent interview for the upcoming issue of Total Film, which hits shelves next Thursday, Jonathan Majors revealed he brought his own theme for Kang the Conqueror to the set of "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." While director Peyton Reed and star Paul Rudd were listening to '80s New Romantic bands, Majors was getting into the mindset of a conqueror with the rap song "9mm." A track on David Banner's 2008 album "The Greatest Story Ever Told," the song features Akon, Lil Wayne, and Snoop Dogg.

Rick Astley is suing rapper Yung Gravy for impersonating his voice.
In a lawsuit filed on Thursday (26 January) in a Los Angeles court, Astley, 56, claimed that Gravy’s track “Betty (Get Money)” violated his right to publicity by mimicking the distinctive voice he used in his 1987 song “Never Gonna Give You Up”.
“In an effort to capitalise off of the immense popularity and goodwill of Mr Astley, defendants … conspired to include a deliberate and nearly indistinguishable imitation of Mr Astley’s voice throughout the song,” Astley’s lawyers said, per Deadline.
“The public could not tell the difference. The imitation of Mr Astley’s voice was so successful the public believed it was actually Mr Astley singing.”
The lawyers also added that Astley is “extremely protective over his name, image, and likeness,” meaning the unauthorised use of the soundalike voice had caused him “immense damage”.

Akon has gone on a sexist rant in which he claims that women are not equal to men and need to understand “their roles”.
The singer also claimed that while women need a man to create life, men do not, and could have a child by putting their sperm in an “incubator”.
Akon made the comments while being interviewed on TheJoe Budden Podcast in December. He began by saying that he preferred African women to American women.
“The women [in Africa] treat you like a king,” he said. “They’re not competing with you, they’re not fighting for equality because they understand that men and women could never be equal.”
“They understand their roles. The roles there are very defined, it’s very clean.”
He continued: “Here [America], even if you say the word role to a woman here, they get offended.”
The 49-year-old was born in Senegal, but grew up in New Jersey in the States.

Three of Texas metal band Pantera’s forthcoming reunion shows have been cancelled this week, apparently due to controversy surrounding a 2016 incident where frontman Phil Anselmo made a Nazi salute.
The decision by promoters to cancel the shows was reportedly made due to “intensive conversations with artists, our partners [and] festival fans”, Consequencereports. Pantera have been dropped from the lineups of Germany’s Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals, while their scheduled performance at Vienna’s Gasometer venue has also been cancelled.
The Independent has contacted Pantera’s representatives for comment.
While no specific reason was given for the cancellations, Blabbermouthreports that the backlash appears to have stemmed in part from the German Green Party. At a recent city council meeting in Nurnberg, a spokeswoman called out Anselmo’s “repeated” use of Nazi slogans, and said it was irresponsible to book them for Rock am Ring and Rock im Park,...

Adam Scott had a “horrifying” experience while filming Boy Meets World in 1995 – and finally addressed it with the actor involved.
The Severance star appeared in the teen series as Griff, making his debut in season two. Scott was present on set the day filming wrapped on the season, which turned into a day Scott has remembered negatively for almost 29 years.
Appearing on Pod Meets World, hosted by actors Rider Strong (Shawn), Danielle Fishel (Topanga) and Will Frieldle (Eric), Scott said: “I get to finally ask Rider about this thing – this has literally been tugging at me for 29 years.”
He explained: “It was the season finale of season two. There was a scene going on that was the last scene that would be shot for the season. I was on the side watching.

Of all things, Micheal Ward was most scared of the pigeon. The actor had arrived on set for Empire of Light, his biggest project yet. He would be the co-lead opposite Oscar winner Olivia Colman in a film directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes and shot by Oscar winner Roger Deakin, also starring Oscar winner Colin Firth. But it was Coco the Pigeon, no awards to her name, who had Ward sweating. “I was so nervous,” he says, laughing about it now. “I didn’t even touch it until Sam told me to. Me being a director’s pet, I gave it a little prod, but...” A violent shiver runs up his body. “Eurgh!”
Fear of feathers is not something you’d expect from the 25-year-old Bafta winner who made his name playing a gang leader in the crime drama Top Boy. So synonymous is Ward with his character that...

Black Swan, Chameleon, Piglet and Yeti took the stage in the Season 5 semifinals of “The Masked Singer” on Wednesday night, but as usual, they were interrupted by that clucking hint-dropper Cluedle-Doo. The feathered villain who tried to spill the beans on everyone’s identities throughout the season hopped onstage himself for a performance of “Return of the Mack” before pulling off his own mask to reveal singer, actor and husband of Jenny McCarthy, Donnie Wahlberg.
“There’s two reasons why I’m here, honestly,” Donnie revealed during his unmasked interview with host Nick Cannon. “One, obviously to see my wife. And two, it’s been so long since I’ve performed for my fans and New Kids on the Block fans, affectionately known as Blockheads, they are like family. They’re my heart. So I did it for my ladies, brothers and of course my lady too.”

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 5, Episode 12 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired May 19 on Fox.
In the end, perhaps it was Omarion’s previous career as a professional rollerblader that gave him away. Omarion was the latest celebrity to be revealed on “The Masked Singer,” during Wednesday night’s semifinals episode. (Scroll down to watch his unmasking.)
Omarion was the Yeti, whose skill rollerblading on stage while singing under a heavy costume had impressed the show’s panelists.
“I was able to reveal my hidden talent, which is rollerblading,” the singer told Variety. “A lot of people don’t know, early on before I was a musician, I was a professional rollerblader… I really attribute that aspect in my life to being a fearless kid. I was on the 12 foot halfpipe. So it was really cool to show my music and my hidden talent at the same time.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday’s “The Masked Singer” Season 5 semifinals.)
“The Masked Singer” semifinals included one elimination but two unmaskings, as the Wednesday episode saw the long-awaited reveal of Season 5’s “clue-meister,” Cluedle-Doo.
But before we got to that show-stopping moment, the final four “Masked Singer” contestants — Yeti, Black Swan, Chameleon and Piglet — performed yet again for judges Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger, plus guest panelist Darius Rucker.
Once they had wrapped up their final pre-finale numbers, Cluedle-Doo crashed the party to give his first-ever performance on the show, singing Mark Morrison’s “Return of the Mack.” Then he gave the judges a chance to guess who he was before he unmasked himself. They guessed Kevin James, Jamie Foxx and Akon — and they were all wrong.

The final days of suburban American high school provide the backdrop to Giants Being Lonely, a box-fresh cut of expressionistic filmmaking from debut writer-director Grear Patterson, a visual artist whose work to date has focused on a kind of post-modern Americana–a stylistic background that translates efficiently to the screen. Produced by Olmo Schnabel and shot beautifully by Patterson himself, Giants tells of a love triangle between three of the school’s students: the gifted pitcher of the baseball team, his coach’s less talented son, and a relatively affluent girl in their class.
Patterson has stated that Giants is autobiographical to a point, although his film, for better and worse, is far less of a nostalgic blow-by-blow memoir than the likes of, say, Lady Bird, but more a sensory memory of the time–taking place, as it does, in a palpably hot, humid, and hormone-filled summer.
