Sydney, December 23: Nigella Lawson's brother has defended his sister against the drug claims.
Dominic Lawson has said in an article in the Sunday Times that his sister was subjected to a technique used on hardened criminals, when she was questioned despite not being a criminal, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
He said that that instead of appreciating his sister's "civic duty" for agreeing to act as a witness for the Crown, she has been maligned as speculations about her drug use continued.
Dominic also slammed the media for publishing columns which were tendentious, and choosing the most sensational headlines without thinking about legal balance. (Ani)...

Sue Perkins raised the rafters in a new Sunday-evening panel show

Does the world – and Radio 4 in particular – need another panel show? Apparently so, for that is what we have in Dilemma, a new, post-Archers, Sunday-night effort, hosted by Sue Perkins and peopled by the familiar: Rebecca Front, Dave Gorman, Richard Herring. Oh, and Dominic Lawson. (Coming straight after The Archers could be a toughie: it's all inter-family bickering and people banging on about organic farming at the mo. Terrible. Like Radio Prince Charles.)
Anyway, Dilemma. I have no problem with the cast: all very funny and bantery. My heavy heart came from the format: I am sick of panel shows, which, by their nature, showcase show-off men and don't play to funny women's strengths. However, Dilemma was devised by comedian Danielle Ward,...

I have three British friends who write literate and stylish columns that will soon go behind Rupert Murdoch’s paywall at the Times and Sunday Times of London. For a little while longer, you can see the newly designed Times site and read Rod Liddle, AA Gill, and Dominic Lawson for free (the site now requires registration—which means you’ll be spammed about subscribing to the Times forevermore), but soon this will end. Tim Kevan, the author of the Times’ enormously popular legal blog—BabyBarista—recently announced he was leaving his Murdoch home (where he’s gotten two book deals from his blog) and setting up his own site because he doesn’t want to be in the “exclusive preserve of a limited few subscribers.” In other words, he wants an audience. But my friends Liddle, Gill, and Lawson, all presumably being paid a premium by Murdoch (at least,...
