Snapping up projects at a similar pace to industry confidant Cara Delevingne, The Wrap is reporting that singer-actress-model Sky Ferreira (The Green Inferno) has been added to the ensemble cast for Edgar Wright’s crime drama, Baby Driver.
There, she’ll be flanked by Jamie Foxx, Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm, Lily James, Jon Bernthal and Kevin Spacey, who Ferreira recently teamed with for next month’s presidential comedy Elvis & Nixon. No details were disclosed about her role among Wright’s ensemble, nor how she will play into the core plot of Ansel Elgort’s (The Fault in Our Stars) expert getaway speedster.

It’s like somebody saw the definition of hotness and decided to make a movie about it.
Amber Heard and Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester will team up for Cowgirl Bandits. Though details are few and far between, the duo will probably play bandits…who are also cowgirls. The story is being pitched a “young Themla & Louise.”
The project will be directed by Jess Manafort, who directed Remember the Daze which starred both actresses in 2007.
Amber Heard can be seen in the latest horror retread, The Stepfather, where she plays somebody who presumably gets stabbed. Possibly twice.

When you hear "a young version of Thelma and Louise," shouldn't you just think of the original, actual Thelma and Louise? First of all, Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon weren't exactly over the hill in that movie, and second, it's a classic that shouldn't be messed with. Period. But of course, that's never the end of anything. According to Production Weekly, Amber Heard and Leighton Meester will be starring in Cowgirl Bandits, a, yes, "young version of Thelma and Louise." Jess Manafort, who previously directed Heard in a movie I have never heard of, The Beautiful Ordinary, will direct her in this one as well. It sounds like it's not actually a remake of Thelma and Louise, just a story about women traveling around and doing illegal stuff, which therefore means it must be compared to the first movie. It's hard to get away with calling yourself a new Thelma...

Good news, Leighton Meester fans! Production Weekly reports that the Gossip Girl beauty has signed on to co-star in the upcoming movie Cowgirl Bandits, alongside Pineapple Express actress Amber Heard (who stars as the female lead in the upcoming Johnny Depp movie The Rum Diary). The film is described as "a young version of Thelma & Louise," so expect a lot of girls-behaving-badly action. Jess Manafort, who worked with Heard on 2007's The Beautiful Ordinary, is set to direct. Let us know in the comments section: Do you think Leighton will be believable as an outlaw?...
