Two all new celebrities in disguise took to “The Masked Singer” stage on Wednesday night, challenging Robo Girl for her crown. Despite her best efforts, the reigning queen was dethroned by a trio of Lambs after she belted out “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. The metallic diva was revealed to be “Vampire Diaries” star Kat Graham.
Graham looked over at host Nick Cannon during her unmasked interview and revealed, “This man has known me since I was 14.” Cannon didn’t know his friend was beneath the mask, but he did admit, “I knew it was someone that I know because you were so playful.”
“This is an amazing opportunity,” Graham said. “Thank you guys so much.” Nobody felt more blindsided than panelist Nicole Scherzinger, who is a personal friend of Graham’s and recently spent time with her. “I feel so stupid, Nick!” Scherzinger screamed. None of the panelists knew Graham was Robo Girl.

Three all new celebrities in disguise took the stage on “The Masked Singer” on Wednesday night. Maize, Mermaid and Robo Girl each sang their hearts out, but the corn got shucked first and then Mermaid lost her fins. The swimming beauty in a sea shell was revealed to be Grammy-winning legend Gloria Gaynor.

I’ve been watching, among other things, the current reboot of ‘Will & Grace‘. One of, many, many, many new TV reboots that are occurring. Alright, I know, I’m not breaking any new ground, Hollywood’s not that original, blah, blah, blah. Still though, this TV reboot caught my attention. For one thing–really? This show you’re rebooting? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love ‘Will & Grace‘ I actually I might argue that it’s one of the more underrated shows of all-time, and had it not been directly up against ‘CSI‘ for so many years, I think it might’ve won more Best Comedy Series Emmys than it actually did. It’s still one of only three series, ‘All in the Family‘ and ‘The Golden Girls‘ being the others, where every original main member of the regular cast won an acting Emmy for said series. I...

There are no Trump stand-ins at the new production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” which opened Monday at the outdoor Delacorte Theatre as part of the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park series. Instead, the Bardically named director Lear deBessonet delivers an uneven, down-the-middle version of one of Shakespeare’s most familiar comedies that emphasizes the broad, sitcommy action among the various sets of mismatched lovers. Hers is a “Midsummer” by way of TVLand, complete with bouncy musical “bumpers” between the scenes (the original music is by Justin Levine) that recall the interludes in old reruns of “Seinfeld” or “The Brady Bunch.

She’s easily the most famous female superhero of all time, and she’s doing it on her own. She’s Wonder Woman, and she’s been a solo superhero since her first DC Comics appearance in 1941. Though Gal Gadot is taking her to the big screen in Wonder Woman, out Friday, until now, the best-known depiction of Wonder Woman has to be the Lynda Carter version, which first premiered on Nov. 7, 1975.

Kittens, kittens everywhere — even in your hair! It sounds like the most amazing scenario ever, we know.
However, the sad reality is that there just aren’t enough homes for all the kittens arriving this Kitten Season — the time of year when cats give birth and flood animal shelters.
Rescuers everywhere, in shelters and beyond, like Jacob Meyer an employee at the Great Plains Spca (above), have their hands and hats plenty full of pussycats, trying to care for each and every one, many of them infants in need of round-the-clock bottle feedings.

On April 5, 1987, there was something different about Los Angeles. The Hollywood sign, perhaps L.A.’s most identifiable landmark, had seemingly been erased off the hillside it’s resided upon for decades. In its place was a three-letter word that was easy to read from the city below as spotlights had been installed for maximum visibility: Fox.
Meanwhile, another longstanding staple of the entertainment industry was undergoing a change as well. CBS, ABC, and NBC, or the “Big Three,” were about to face a brand new ratings competitor. In an effort to drum up publicity for the debut of its primetime line-up, Fox Broadcasting Corp. had received permission to temporarily black out the iconic sign. For a few days, the world-famous photo op for tourists would instead read “Fox” instead of “Hollywood.”
Looking back on the marketing stunt, another word might have sufficed: “Bundy.”

Viola Davis just can't seem to stop breaking records. After becoming the first black actress to earn three Oscar nods, she also became the first black actress to win a total of five SAG Awards. After giving an empowering acceptance speech on stage, Davis offered even more wisdom during her Q&A in the press room. One journalist asked if the diverse list of Oscar nominations might be a direct result of last year's #OscarSoWhite controversy, but she thinks every nod was well earned and hopes this all is part of a greater movement toward much-deserved inclusion in Hollywood. "I think that every nominee - from Naomie Harris to Octavia Spencer to Hidden Figures to Fences to Moonlight to Mahershala Ali - [is] there because they deserve to be there. They're not there because of the color of their skin. They've put in the work. So, the answer to that is no.

One year of good films with black actors and themes does not eradicate decades of invisibility and lopsided representation – but several big wins at Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards demonstrated some positive steps forward in Hollywood’s quest for more diversity.
Several actors of color took home awards at this year’s ceremony – and unlike last year, it was the film side offering up the night’s biggest inclusive wins. “Fences” took home awards for Denzel Washington and Viola Davis, “Hidden Figures” won for its cast, and Mahershala Ali won for his supporting role in “Moonlight.”
As a result, many of the night’s top acceptance speeches drove home the message of inclusion and acceptance.

Arguably, television shows that were originally major motion pictures don’t really cut it. They never seem to be able to live up to the original. And, for every single one that is better than the movie, there are ten that aren’t even close. Today’s entertainment trend also seems to be just the opposite, as in TV shows turned into movies like “Sex in the City”, “21 Jump Street” and the sequel, “The A-Team”, “The Brady Bunch”, “Dragnet”, “Dr. Who”, “The Dukes of Hazzard”, and my favorite “Entourage”. In addition, “Star Trek”, “The Fugitive”, “Mission Impossible”, “Charlie’s Angels”, “Batman” and “Superman”

James Burrows, perhaps the most successful TV director in history, owes his lengthy small screen career to Grant Tinker.
Tinker, who died Monday at 90, was a towering television titan who turned Mtm Enterprises into one of the most successful production companies in the 1970s, then took over NBC and led that network from worst to first in the 1980s.
But his legacy lives on, thanks to the writers, producers, directors and stars he championed during his long career. Burrows, who recently directed his 1,000th episode of television (which NBC celebrated with a primetime special), is one of them.
“I owe my entire television career to him,” Burrows told IndieWire.
Burrows was a theater director and stage manager in New York when he worked on the musical “Holly Golightly” (later retitled “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”), starring Mary Tyler Moore and Richard Chamberlain. The show closed after just four nights, but by the end,...

There’s something peculiar about Tim Burton’s latest film, and it goes far beyond characters who are filled with swarms of bees or who can turn into birds or are even so light that they require lead shoes to stay grounded, it’s a noticeable lack of diversity amongst its casting ranks. Burton’s newest feature, “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Particular Children” stars a cast of mostly white actors and actresses — not including Samuel L. Jackson, the lone exception — who play a host of characters, young and old, given to special powers and mostly regular. In short, there’s room to mix it up a bit, but that’s not something Burton seems to be very interested in doing.
In a recent chat with Bustle, the filmmaker was asked about diversity in films, including his own, and he issued a somewhat strange answer.

Tim Burton got himself into some hot water on Thursday after trying to explain to a reporter why there aren’t many white people in his movie adaptation of “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children,” which opens in theaters this weekend. “Nowadays, people are talking about it more,” he told The Bustle regarding the topic of diversity in film. “Things either call for things, or they don’t. I remember back when I was a child watching ‘The Brady Bunch’ and they started to get all politically correct. Like, Ok, let’s have an Asian child and a black.

Over the weekend, Tim Burton’s adaptation of the novel Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by author Ransom Riggs hits theaters. Reviews are tepid but not 2016 summer blockbuster bad. With its PG-13 rating and lack of significant demographic competition at the cinema, the box office draw could be decent. All that has to happen is for no one involved in the film to say something horrible and/or racist. Dammit, Tim Burton! When speaking to The Bustle about Miss Peregrine, the topic of on-screen diversity came up. After all, with the exception of Samuel L. Jackson as the villainous Barron, the film is very white. Tim Burton had…words…to say: “Nowadays, people are talking about it more […]things either call for things, or they don’t. 39 years ago today, audiences were first taken to the galaxy far, far away that would deeply embed itself in popular culture and ignite the imaginations of sci-fi fans for generations to come. Star Wars opened in theaters on May 25, 1977, the Wednesday before Memorial Day that year. (Yep, next year we’ll be celebrating the 40th anniversary of Star Wars.) The film that would launch one of the biggest cultural phenomenons of all time started small, opening in fewer than 40 theaters. But when the movie started to break records in its small release, 20th Century Fox accelerated its release plans. Soon audiences across the world were captivated by the Millennium Falcon and binary sunsets and lightsaber duels. Six years to the day after the release of the first film, Return of the Jedi opened in theaters. The Empire Strikes Back had hit theaters in May 1980, when Star Wars was a summer and not a Christmas event.

Sure, there are lots of other factors, like your friends, family, and siblings, but for kids who were allowed television time -- or sneak-watched while at a friend's house -- TV shows were a vital part of shaping your worldview. From "The Powerpuff Girls" kicking butt in Townsville to the magic of the "Wizards of Waverly Place," kids shows that are no longer on the air were downright fascinating. Well, most of them.
That isn't to say kids' shows today aren't just as awesome as the classics. There's always "Adventure Time's" brilliance or the galactic plot lines of "Star Wars Rebels," but nothing compares to watching Miley Cyrus pretend to be two different people with only a wig to tell "them" apart. Of course, child stars grow up,...

Plenty of classic TV shows have been given the big screen treatment. The Brady Bunch got a pair of spoof-esque movies, while The Addams Family got a couple movies that were a little more earnest and charming. Plus The A-Team and 21 Jump Street got two very different big screen updates, just to name a […]

Patty Duke may or may not have thought of the theme song from The Patty Duke Show as part of her legacy, but it's one of the best-written, best-remembered minutes of music ever to launch a subsequent 23 minutes of episodic television nonsense.
It ranks up there with the earworm classics from Gilligan’s Island and The Brady Bunch.
If you're inclined to debate the point, you might also squeeze in Green Acres. But still.
Written by Sid Ramin and Bob Wells (lyrics), the song sets up the show's situation – it's about identical cousins Cathy and Patty, the one rather genteel and British,...

Full House exists in the same nostalgia bubble as Saved by the Bell and The Brady Bunch for me: I wouldn't call myself a superfan or even a fan, but I have definitely seen every episode. So they did something right. In these new stills from Fuller House, the Netflix series reuniting us with DJ Tanner (Candace Cameron), Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), and in recurring roles Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), Uncle Jesse (John Stamos), Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier), and Aunt Becky (Lori Laughlin), we see that everybody grew up to be wheaten-haired and well-dressed. I will tune into this surreal 13-episode smilethon. Now, our questions: 1) Is the show secretly all about Kimmy? Everyone's looking at her in these photos expectantly. "Charm us, Kimmy," they beg. I feel like she will. 2) Is it wrong that I don't miss the presence of Michelle at all? We have these...

She's easily the most famous female superhero of all time, and most important, she's doing it on her own. She's Wonder Woman, and she's been a solo superhero since her first DC Comics appearance in 1941. But the best-known depiction of Wonder Woman has to be the Lynda Carter version, which first premiered 40 years ago this week: on Nov. 7, 1975.
That theme song! It's enough to make you want to spin around and see if maybe this time you'll magically change into her very same star-spangled costume. Carter's performance as Wonder Woman was everything a '70s superhero should be, and years...

Evil goatees, facial ticks and eyepatches… Remember these classic takes on TV’s ‘evil twin’ trope?
Warning: contains spoilers for Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who series 6, Knightrider, and a 1969 episode of Star Trek.
When it comes to shenanigans and shock value, it’s hard to go past the trope of the evil twin on television. It’s so much fun seeing old-school split-screen on the small screen, where the same actor plays two (or more) parts. It ramps up the fun and fantasy, or delivers a fabulous freak-out moment.
Science fiction feels like the natural habitat of doubles. The audience is already suspending their disbelief, so what’s one more?
Hands-down one of the best uses of twins (or multiples) is from the 2004 reboot of Battlestar Galactica. Cylon hybrids were flawless versions of humans who looked, sounded, acted and believed they were just like you and me. It...

We weren't surprised that Candace Cameron Bure still remembers all the words to the Full House theme song "Everywhere You Look" considering she played D.J. Tanner for eight seasons on the beloved sitcom.
The tune had all the elements of a good opening – it immediately got you excited for your favorite show to begin, was instantly recognizable and entirely unforgettable.
While we wait to see if "Everywhere You Look" will return as Fuller House's opener, we're happy to run down more of the best theme songs over the years, limiting ourselves to iconic opening sequences featuring vocals (sorry American Horror Story,...

It may be a spin-off of AMC’s wildly popular series “The Walking Dead,” one that shares the same creator (Robert Kirkman), but “Fear the Walking Dead” depicts a very different world. The prequel to the original is set in Los Angeles, the polar opposite of rural Georgia, and the new series explores what happens to a city before the zombies and the apocalypse take their toll.
For over a year, the production of “Fear the Walking Dead” was shrouded in secrecy. Now that the show’s August 23 premiere is approaching, the cast and producers are sharing enough information to whet viewers’ appetites. Here are 10 things you can expect from “Fear the Walking Dead.”

If you thought Empire season one was crazy, well, buckle up because season two may blow you away. "Season one—it's that time 20 million," Jussie Smollett told E! News on the red carpet at the Bet Awards," I keep joking that we make season one look like The Brady Bunch because it's a lot. It's going there, for sure." Season two is now in production in Chicago with guest stars Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Magic Mike Xxl star Adam Rodriguez and Lenny Kravtiz along for the ride. Rock's character will be locked up with Terrence Howard's Lucious Lyon and Rodriguez is playing a new romantic interest for Taraji P. Henson's Cookie Lyon. Henson, who is getting serious Emmy...

Let’s be honest: The days of Leave it to Beaver and The Brady Bunch are long gone; not every TV father deserves to start each morning by proudly sipping coffee from his “World’s Best Dad” mug.
RelatedElementary Season 4: John Noble Is Sherlock’s Dad — and a Series Regular
For every Rogelio De La Vega (Jane the Virgin) who uses his connections to further his daughter’s career, there’s a Stannis Baratheon (Game of Thrones) who uses his connections to light his innocent young daughter on fire and make her mother watch. So, yeah, definitely no mug for Stannis.

Here's something to raise a glass to: Cheers is bound for the stage.
For fans missing their weekly trip to the bar "where everybody knows your name," one of the legendary sitcom's stars has exciting news.
"You know," John Ratzenberger, who played postal worker Cliff Clavin on the sitcom, told People at the Los Angeles premiere of Inside Out, "I just got an email yesterday that CBS is planning a stage show of Cheers.'"
More than 20 years after the Boston-based sitcom ended its run in 1993, Ratzenberger mused to People that a theatrical production "could be good. It could be horrible.

Let's all buy a round for Norm: Sitcom classic Cheers is being developed into a live theater version by CBS, with shows – under the straightforward name Cheers Live on Stage – expected to debut in 2016. The production will "showcase classic moments" from the series, Radio Times reports (via A.V. Club), though the company hasn't confirmed if any original cast members will be involved.
The original Cheers premiered in 1982 and ran for 11 seasons on NBC, overcoming low ratings in its first season to become one of the decade's most popular programs.

This summer, Scream Factory will take viewers to a ghost town that's a lot more sinister than the one the Brady family was trapped in on The Brady Bunch. Slated for a July 28th release, the western horror film Ghost Town hits Blu-ray on July 28th:

Rest assured, Jussie Smollett is not interested in jeopardizing his chances of appearing in the second season of Empire. As a result, he won't spill on the show's forthcoming sophomore season, only teasing that it "will make season 1 look like The Brady Bunch."
In a new interview with Essence magazine, Smollett, 32, opened up about how Empire has changed his life – including making him a potential inspiration for young people considering coming out of the closet. "If I can help someone else feel less alone, no matter what they're going through, I'm happy to have that opportunity," he said.

Danny Trejo is one of Hollywood's most prolific actors, having appeared in literally hundreds of projects since his career began in the early 1980s. The frequent Robert Rodriguez collaborator is often known for playing tough-as-nails badasses and grizzled villains, but that doesn't mean he shies away from the kid-friendly stuff.
One example is the Netflix's original animated series, "The Adventures of Puss in Boots," which follows the heroic moves of the swashbuckling feline we all know and love from "Shrek" and "Puss in Boots." Ok, Trejo still plays the villain in this one. But this time he's a cartoon named "El Moco" -- and if you're not familiar with the Spanish language, the translation for El Moco is mucus. Yup, his character is pretty much named "booger."

It's the HitFix Daily Snap, our tidy roundup of new stories. Look at all the fun we're having! 'Last Man on Earth' star Kristen Schaal opens up Daniel Fienberg spoke with the "Bob's Burgers" veteran about the first season finale of "Last Man on Earth" and grilled her about Carol's decision. Will Forte forever. Scroll below to see Kristen Schaal parody Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn" video with So Much Good Face-acting. Is "Veep" star Gary Cole our coolest comic actor? Seriously, who has had a career like Gary Cole's? From "The Brady Bunch" to "Talladega Nights" to "Veep," he's totally in command and slyly weird. Amy Schumer on her upcoming (and blistering) "12 Angry Men" parody Henry Fonda may be out of the picture, but Amy Schumer gathered Jeff Goldblum, Paul Giamatti, Vincent Kartheiser and more to riff on the 1957 jury classic and ask the question: Is Amy Schumer too unattractive to be on TV?...

Penultimate episodes can provide experimental fun, a new start and closure, as Star Trek, The X-Files, Buffy, Quantum Leap and more show...
Endings are difficult, especially in an art form designed to produce weekly adventures that can continue in the same format for an indefinite period of time. Not all TV shows are lucky enough to get a designated series finale, as many are cancelled unexpectedly or at short notice, leaving a season finale to act as their de facto conclusion. For those lucky enough to have the time and notice to prepare a proper conclusion to their story, the pressure is on to make that final episode meaningful, emotional and memorable, preferably for the right reasons. Afterwards, if you’re lucky, that finale will be celebrated for years as a fitting tribute to a show people loved.
