Unlike Game of Thrones itself, the legal battle between Emmy nominee Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and his former manager over commissions and contracts doesn’t look to be ending soon, despite the recent $2 million ruling by an arbitrator who found in favor of the actor’s ex-reps.
Coster-Waldau, who plays Kingslayer Jaime Lannister, and his attorney were handed a detailed interim decision late last month (read it here) telling him to pony up “$1,752,564.55 plus pre-judgment interest at 10% per annum.” Seasoned arbitrator Henry J. Silberberg on August 22 also ordered the actor to make biannual payments on his now-$1,066,667-per-episode Got earnings and any other cash that evolved out of Jill Littman’s handling of his career up until 2015.
Heading into the 70th Primetime Emmys on September 17 with an Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series nomination, Coster-Waldau got a Final Award on Tuesday (read it here) that also drilled in with a specific...

In an unusual contract dispute that teased the possibility of immigration fraud in Hollywood, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has been ordered by an arbitrator to pay about $1.75 million plus nearly $225,000 in interest to his former manager, Jill Littman. The Danish actor known for playing Jaime Lannister on HBO's Game of Thrones is resisting.
For about a decade, Littman and Impression Entertainment managed Coster-Waldau's career. In a Sept. 18, 2015, email, Coster-Waldau terminated the relationship. "I am nothing but grateful for our many years working together and the success we shared," the actor wrote Littman....

Kyra Sedgwick’s return to primetime didn’t stick. ABC today officially canceled the freshman drama Ten Days in the Valley. The network said the remaining episodes will air.
The underperforming drama series premiered October 1 with a soft 0.5 in adults 18-48 and 3.4 million total viewers (Live+Same Day). It drew a 0.4 in the demo for its last three Sunday airings before being moved to 10 Pm Saturdays in late October.
Hailing from Skydance Television, Ten Days In the Valley followed Jane Sadler (Sedgwick), an overworked television producer and single mother in the middle of a fractious separation. When her young daughter goes missing in the middle of the night, Jane’s world — and her controversial police series — implodes. Life imitates art: everything’s a mystery, everyone has a secret, and no one can be trusted. Erika Christensen, Felix Solis and Kick Gurry co-starred.

Tribeca Enterprises announced on Wednesday that to supplement its acclaimed annual film festival, this fall it would launch the Tribeca TV Festival, to run Sept. 22 through 24 at Cinepolis in New York City and feature numerous premieres and panel Q&As.
”Ten years ago we wouldn’t have needed a TV festival. Now, with the change in the TV landscape, both the quality and quantity of shows, it makes sense,” Tribeca co-founder Robert De Niro said in a statement. “As the Tribeca Film Festival has done, the Tribeca TV Festival will act as a curator in bringing people together for this emerging experience.

As of late, every major fest has included some degree of television in its programming. But Tribeca is demonstrating a new level of commitment to episodic content with Tribeca TV, an entire festival dedicated to the small screen (to use an increasingly antiquated term).
Running September 22-24 in New York, Tribeca TV will feature the world premieres of the upcoming new series “At Home with Amy Sedaris,” as well as “Designated Survivor” Season 2 and “Red Oaks” Season 3. Also getting special previews are Season 2 of the Emmy-nominated “Better Things,” the fourth season of “Gotham,” the upcoming Sundance TV miniseries “Liar,” and NBC’s revival of classic sitcom “Will & Grace.”

Ser Jaime Lannister lost his hand in Game of Thrones, but the actor who portrays him says his ex-manager is trying to take an arm and a leg in real life.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is suing Jill Littman for fraud, claiming she's seeking commissions she isn't owed.
The actor says Littman, and Impression Entertainment, tried to get him to sign a written agreement early in their relationship but he preferred they operate under an oral contract. Under that deal, beginning in 2006, Coster-Waldau would pay Littman 10 percent of his pay for employment obtained while she represented him.
Now, the two are fighting over whether that pay was to continue after their relationship ended. Shortly after Coster-Waldau fired Littman he stopped payment on a commission check, eventually leading Impression to initiate arbitration proceedings.

Turner’s upfront next week will feature a familiar face. The Closer star Kyra Sedgwick is returning to TNT‘s lineup, this time as a producer. The cable network has picked up to series pilot Proof, a supernatural medical drama executive produced by Sedgwick in her TV series producing debut. Also ordered to series is the 1960s cop drama Public Morals, written, directed by and starring Ed Burns, which counts Steven Spielberg among its executive producers. Both projects, which had been clear frontrunners, have received 10-episode orders for 2015 debut. Of TNT’s other drama pilots, there is discussion about possibly retooling Agent X starring Sharon Stone, while Guilt By Association is not going forward. Written by Rob Bragin, Proof stars Jennifer Beals as a skeptical, hard science, female surgeon who’s struggled with family issues including a tragic death.
