When there are A, B, and C-list celebrities who would be happy to have even a two-second cameo in a TV show, producers have to know they’re doing something right. Even if that guest appearance ends in their gruesome death.
Game of Thrones is no stranger to this, having had performer Ed Sheeran singing by a campfire, Mlb pitcher Noah Syndergaard serving in Jaime Lannister’s army, and YouTube comedian Steve Love getting axed by the Hound. The second and third of those didn’t cause quite stir as much discussion as Sheeran’s cameo did though, with fans chastising the show for “selling out” just to get a big name entertainer to sing on the series.
The fallout from that cameo didn’t stop the producers from continuing on with the tradition, though, as Silicon Valley‘s Martin Starr and Rob McElhenney of It’s Always Sunny In...
