- Born July 15, 1973 of Armenian heritage, in Lebanon, John Dolmayan has been one of the most influential drummers in the music business. His parents decided to move to Toronto and then to Los Angeles, where he became the drummer for heavy-metal band System of a Down.
Along with the band, he successfully recorded the albums System of a Down, Toxicity, Steal This Album, and Mesmerize.
