“Hey buddy, you that fish boy from the TV?”
A new TV spot for Aquaman has surfaced from the depths of the ocean and it features a few more bits of exciting new footage from the film. There’s footage of Arthur Curry (Jason Mamoa) being confronted by a group of bar patrons. We see Mera (Amber Heard) and Arthur driving through Atlantis in their water vessel, and we also get to see Mera show off water bending powers.
I like what I’ve seen from this movie so far visually and I really hope that director James Wan managed to build a solid story for this character.
Aquaman will center on Aquaman as a reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis who is caught between land dwellers that are always polluting the globe and his own people who are ready to invade the surface.

Sneak Peek leaked footage from the set of the DC Comics adaptation "Aquaman", starring Jason Momoa, now in post-production, that "...is going to look very different," according to director James Wan. "It will feel very different, aesthetically, tonally...story-wise...":
"Justice League was only a weekend in Arthur Curry’s life," said Momoa, who plays 'Arthur Curry', the 'Aquaman'.
"This is a totally different beast. In 'Aquaman', you see when his parents met and what happened to hem. Then the little boy being raised and finding his powers and going through that and never being accepted on either side. And then becoming this man who puts up all these walls.
"You just slowly see this man harden up and be completely reluctant wanting to be king and not knowing what to do with these powers he has..."

Barring a number of forgettable gigs in the vein of Sharknado 5: Global Swarming and Kindergarten Cop 2, it’s been a while since we’ve seen Hollywood veteran Dolph Lundgren appear in a major tentpole. That all changes in 2018, though.
With Creed II set to herald the long-anticipated return of Ivan Drago (“if he dies, he dies”), Lundgren also has a role to play in Aquaman, the James Wan-directed solo movie that’s poised to follow in the footsteps of Justice League. He’ll play Nereus, warrior king of Xebel, opposite Jason Momoa’s Atlantean, and Dolph Lundgren recently posted a new behind-the-scenes photo on Twitter (via Cbm) that shows him in training.
And, well, let’s just say the towering Swede will be bringing some serious physicality to the role of Nereus, as below you’ll see Lundgren performing a leg kick with one of the film’s stunt doubles.

While there are only three months separating Thor: Ragnarok and Marvel’s Black Panther spinoff, not to mention the relatively minuscule five-month gap between The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story, DC fans are bracing for the prolonged lull between Justice League and Aquaman.
The latter tentpole was once scheduled for July 27th, 2018, before being shoved back to December of the same year. As things stand, that’s a full 13 months after Justice League‘s theatrical release, but at least based on Jason Momoa’s recent comments, Aquaman may well be worth the wait.
ComicBook.com recently caught up with DC’s King of the Seven, who championed his standalone pic to be a “big road movie,” one that features characters riding sharks. Take our money, Warner Bros., take it all.

New Mutants isn’t the only 2018 blockbuster to be tinged with horror; as Hollywood veteran Willem Dafoe noted late last week, Warner’s hotly-anticipated Aquaman is also steeped in the genre of shrill music and jump-scares, which isn’t all that surprising given it’s coming by way of The Conjuring mastermind, James Wan.
Placing Jason Momoa’s King of the Seven front and center, the Aquaman standalone pic has naturally taken a backseat to Justice League, which will find Momoa’s Atlantean rubbing shoulders with Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and The Flash late next month. There’s also the resurrection of Superman to consider, though we imagine Zack Snyder’s DC blockbuster will spend time establishing the titular team before drafting Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel into the fight.
And similar to how Batman V Superman introduced Gal Gadot’s Amazonian before the arrival of Wonder Woman, Snyder...

Today, we have a few items to share about the DC Extended Universe: A Significant Aquaman Location James Wan, director of the upcoming solo superhero feature Aquaman, posted a photo of a location they're shooting at (see below). Why? Because this one is pretty significant to the title character's origins and the social media share has fans very excited. What we see in the photo is a lighthouse at Hastings Point in New South Wales, Australia. What we also see, through the lens of the Dceu, is the lighthouse home of Tom Curry in Amnesty Bay. Finally filming at the lighthouse set. Beautiful location. Saw whales ?? breaching in the distance. Magical. #amnestybay #hastingspoint pic.twitter.com/WZKt31NjqT — James Wan...

With great power comes great responsibility, as a wise old man once said, but sometimes you have to call upon those superhuman abilities to put drunk fools back in line.
And that’s exactly what Queen Mera (Amber Heard) can be seen doing on the set of Aquaman. Warner Bros. and James Wan’s DC tentpole continues to lens Down Under, and after Heard herself offered up a behind-the-scenes snap of Mera and Arthur Curry between takes, YouTube user ‘bigfootkam’ has published a video of Mera in action outside The Sunken Galleon. Fast forward to the 1:10 marker and you’ll see a drunken man approach the Queen of Atlantis, only to have his beer explode at the flick of a wrist. Make no mistake, folks, Mera is not to be trifled with.

Director James Wan released the first photo of Amber Heard as Mera from Aquaman. She looks great in the role and I love the costume. It looks like she stepped right out of the comic books! The photo came with the following caption:

The film is currently shooting on the Gold Coast of Queensland, Australia. One of the reasons I'm so excited about this movie is because Wan is directing. I'm a huge fan of his films and his film-making style and I'm excited to see what he does with this movie.

Outside of Justice League footage and the photos released of Jason Mamoa grimacing, we haven't seen a lot regarding Aquaman. Today just a little more on the film has been released as it starts shooting. Warner Bros. sent out a press release which included the title card for the DC superhero film, and it kinda looks like a warped Star Trek logo. Compared to past Aquaman logos, it's definitely a bit more rigid than past incarnations and looks a whole lot less like an A, which is the original intention behind the logo. Check the press release below and share your thoughts.

The famous Gold Coast of Australia has fast become a popular destination for Hollywood tentpoles over the last few years, what with Thor: Ragnarok and the imminent Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales using the country’s picture-perfect coastline during various stages of production. Warner Bros. and James Wan’s Aquaman is the latest blockbuster to head Down Under, and following the director’s status update from yesterday, WB has now lifted the lid on the official title card for Arthur Curry’s solo outing, along with the full cast list.
The former is embedded below, and offers a closer look at the Aquaman logo – the same one that was teased just prior to March’s Justice League trailer. Casting-wise, thanks to a fleeting cameo in Batman V Superman, we know that it is former Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa who will be taking charge as the King of Atlantis.

While we'll get to see the underwater superhero in action (a lot judging by the trailers) later this year in Justice League, Aquaman's long-gestating solo film has started principal photography.
Director James Wan has been hard at work on developing the big screen Aquaman movie the character deserves and has lined up a fairly impressive cast, based on what we know so far. Now, all those pre-production efforts are being put to use as cameras have started rolling on the film down in Australia.
Months of intensive prep have led to this. Here we go. #DayOne #Ahab pic.twitter.com/Ryhl3NUtRY

Sure, it's not a terribly exciting set picture, it's exciting nonetheless that the film is actually going to happen. While I've never been the biggest fan of Aquaman, I have a lot of confidence in James Wan as a director and have enjoyed...

Temura Morrison, the man who played Jango Fett in the Star Wars prequels, is in talked to join James Wan's Aquaman. According to THR, if he's cast, he will take on the role of Aquaman's human father.
Earlier this week we learned that Nicole Kidman is in talks to play Aquaman's mother Atlanna, so it seems like Warner Bros. and Wan are on the verge of locking down Aquaman's parents.
In the comics, Aquaman's father was Tom Curry, a lighthouse keeper. Atlanna left the kingdom of Atlantis to be with him because she loved him and together they had Arthur, a.k.a. Aquaman, who grows up to be a bridge between the two worlds of land and sea. Tom educated Arthur and taught him to control his powers.

With an upcoming appearance in Justice League and his own solo movie in the works, Aquaman will surely make a splash with audiences soon. Until then, curious fans of the DC Extended Universe may want to learn more about the oceanic superhero. If diving into the substantial source material seems daunting, we've compiled a quick guide to help you out. Read on for some highlights from the comic books. Origin Story Like many comic book characters, Aquaman's origin story differs depending on the comic. Also known as Arthur Curry, he is originally the son of Tom Curry, a human lighthouse keeper, and Atlanna, the exiled queen of Atlantis. Through his mother, he gains the abilities of strength, speed, breathing underwater, and talking to fish, though he's unaware of her true identity until her death. In the current comics continuity, he is also half-human, half-Atlantean. A different take on his background removes the half-human aspect.

Patrick Wilson has been cast to play Aquaman’s evil half-brother opposite Jason Momoa in director James Wan’s “Aquaman.” The character, also known as Ocean Master, first appeared in “Aquaman” #29 (September 1966), and was created by Bob Haney and Nick Cardy. Orm Curry was Aquaman’s fully human half-brother, the son of Tom Curry (Aquaman’s father) and a woman named Mary O’Sullivan. He grew up under the shadow of his heroic half-brother and resented the fact that he had none of Aquaman’s powers, because he was fully human. He was already a petty criminal when he was...

James Wan's standalone Aquaman flick was originally set to swim into theaters on July 27, 2018, but Warner Bros. has now announced that it'll actually open almost 3 months later than that on October 5. We still don't know a whole lot about this first solo outing for the King of Atlantis, but it will also see Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe reprise their Justice League roles as Mera and Vulko, respectively. Wan has been posting the occasional location scouting pic to Instagram, however, and this latest one is widely believed to be doubling for Amnesty Bay - the small coastal town that was home to Aquaman's (Jason Momoa) adoptive father, Tom Curry. Tell us, how do you feel about having to wait a bit longer to see Aquaman in theaters?...

A couple of months ago, James Wan shared this photo of a sunny, picturesque location he was scouting for Aquaman, and earlier today the director posted another pic to his Instagram page. Although this area is also stunning to look at, it definitely looks a lot colder! The caption accompanying the image reads: "If casting is half of your directing, then location is half your photography." The exact location is not specified, but from the looks of this snap it could well wind up doubling for Amnesty Bay - the small coastal town that was home to Aquaman's adoptive father, Tom Curry. If casting is half of your directing, then location is half your photography. #happysnap A photo posted by James Wan (@creepypuppet) on Nov 17, 2016 at 7:27pm Pst Aquaman is set to be released on July 27th, 2018.

Arthur Curry is Aquaman, the grumpiest mermaid ever, who returns for a second outing in The Others in what is his weakest and most forgettable adventure yet. A villain called Black Manta is killing Aquaman’s old friends collectively known as The Others, the group he belonged to before joining the Justice League, and stealing the sources of their power which happen to be relics of Atlantis. Aquaman, Mera and the Others must regroup to defeat Black Manta and stop him from getting the powerful instrument that sank Atlantis back to his mysterious employer…
