The title’s basis and the one that sets it apart (to a point at least), is that two present-day detectives, Kento Saegusa and his superior, Misaki Sakurai, are in communication with a policeman from 2009, Takeshi Oyama, via walkie-talkies that actually work without batteries. In the movie, the case Saegusa and Sakurai get involved in, concerns the death of a high-ranking government official who is killed when his chauffeur loses control on an expressway. Saegusa suspects it was far from accidental, while it is soon revealed that a neurotoxin and the remaining members of a cult that...

The official website for Hajime Hashimoto’s Rinjo has been updated with a new 60-second trailer.
The film continues the 2-season drama which aired on TV Asahi in 2009 and 2010. Masaaki Uchino returns as Yoshio Kuraishi, a coroner with the Metropolitan Tokyo Police Department who has a knack for understanding the evidence at a crime scene.
In 2010, a man went berserk with a knife in the Kichijōji area of Tokyo, killing 4 and injuring 15. After psychological testing, he was pronounced innocent by reason of insanity.
In the present day, the lawyer and psychiatrist responsible for getting the man released are found murdered in Tokyo and Kanagawa, respectively. Police immediately suspect the families of the massacre victims and eventually narrow it down to one obvious choice, but for Kuraishi, this conclusion just doesn’t fit the evidence. Against the strong objections of the lead investigator, he continues own investigation to uncover the truth behind the deaths.

Here’s the first teaser for Hajime Hashimoto’s Tantei wa Bar ni Iru, which recently surfaced on YouTube.
Based on Naomi Azuma’s novel “Bar ni Kakatte Kita Denwa”, the second installment of the author’s “Susukino Tantei” detective series, the film stars Yo Oizumi as a private detective who bases his business out of a bar in Susukino, a red-light district in Sapporo, Hokkaido. In keeping with that premise, Oizumi’s character turns to the audience in the teaser and says “If something comes up, call me here.”
One day, he receives a call from a mystery woman (revealed in the teaser as being played by Koyuki) who gets both he and his combative-yet-reliable partner Takada (Ryuhei Matsuda) involved in a dangerous new case. Toshiyuki Nishida also stars as a wealthy industrialist.

The film is based on the Naomi Azuma’s novel “Bar ni Kakatte Kita Denwa”, the second installment of his “Susukino Tantei” series. Oizumi’s character is a private detective in Susukino, a red-light district in Sapporo, Hokkaido.
