- Shawn Lovette is known for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013) and Passengers (2016).
- His first digital animation project went on to win two Emmy Awards for "Best Specialty Graphics", awarded to Digital Dimension, the visual effects studio Shawn was lead designer for at the time.
- Four of the films Shawn worked on as a Visual Effects Artist were nominated for a Visual Effects Society (VES) Award.
- Three of the films Shawn worked on as a Visual Effects Artist were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
- Shawn lived in Sydney, Australia for several years to work on Warner Bros. and Australia's first digital animation feature film, Happy Feet (2006). The film won both the Academy Award Oscar and BAFTA Award (British Oscar) for Best Animated Feature Film.
