“Next Level Chef” is headed to France after Kitchen Factory Productions snapped up the French format rights to the culinary competition series.
Kitchen Factory, who will produce the French version, announced the deal on Wednesday (Oct. 19) alongside Chef Cyril Lignac, producer Matthieu Jean-Toscani and Studio Ramsay Global, the joint production venture created by British chef Gordon Ramsay’s worldwide production with Fox Entertainment..
The format of the show sees a three-storey stage on which each level boasts differing culinary equipment and ingredients reflecting their environment. The competing chefs – comprised of restaurant-experienced professionals, home cooks and even social media stars – must use their imagination and unleash their creativity all while keeping their cool as they attempt to climb from the challenging basement floor to the glistening top.
The winner walks away with their culinary reputation intact as well as a €250,000 cash prize.

In a virtual presentation made available on the Mipcom Online Plus platform Monday morning, Glance (Global Audience & Content Evolution) unveiled the trends that have and will stand out from what has been an exceptional year for the TV industry.
“All over the world, viewers have increased in number and have become more devoted to the programs that they watch,” Glance VP Frédéric Vaulpré explained in an accompanying release. “In the first half of 2020, there was a trend towards an increase in television viewing time, with the lockdown having increased the amount of time that families spend together. And in addition to a larger audience, the health crisis has had a real impact on the content produced and released in 2020.”
“Producers have had to demonstrate their reactivity and imagination to drive or serve this audience,” added Glance head of content insight Avril Blondelot. “Until now, 10% of the productions launched in 2020 are linked,...

The Great British Bake Off is as synonymous with the UK as a nice cup of tea and Big Ben, but can the format be translated around the world?
The answer is... yes! Bake Off has been broadcast in 196 territories and its format has been sold to 20 nations, with varying degrees of success. So what do Mel and Sue, Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry look like in the USA, Ukraine and elsewhere?
1. Bake Off Brazil - Hands-on
Very similar to the UK version, but if you're expecting a dose of samba music you'll be disappointed, as the exact same UK soundtrack appears to have returned. Ticiana Villas Boas hosts the oddly named show, flanked by entrepreneur Fabrizio Fasano Jr (a brilliant Hollywood replacement) and baker Carolina Fiorentino (a much younger Mary Berry, don't tell her we said that).
2. The Great Australian Bake Off
The first series aired in 2013, with hosts...
