Jamie Foxx is returning to Fox’s game show Beat Shazam after missing the show’s most recent season following a health scare.
The network announced Monday that Foxx and daughter Corinne will resume hosting duties on the music-based game show, whose seventh season premieres May 28. After a medical issue during filming of Netflix’s movie Back in Action in April 2023, Foxx was hospitalized and underwent a long recovery process.
Foxx hasn’t disclosed the nature of the medical issue, but in his first public appearance since then — at a Critics Choice Association event in December — he hinted at some serious effects: “I couldn’t do that six months ago, I couldn’t actually walk to [the stage],” he said at the time. He also joked that “I saw the tunnel, I didn’t see the light. It was hot in that tunnel too — I don’t know where I was going.

“The Masked Singer” producer Fox Alternative Entertainment (Fae) and Dublin-headquartered outfit BiggerStage will jointly produce variety competition series “The Big Deal” for Ireland’s Virgin Media Television.
The series, presented by Vogue Williams, features celebrity judges including pop legend Boy George; comedian and actor Deirdre O’Kane; Aston Merrygold, formerly of boy band Jls and recent finalist on “The Masked Singer”; talent show favourites Jedward; and rising music star Lyra.
After each act, the performers are offered a deal: they can either accept a cash buyout and leave the competition with a useful sum of money — or they can reject the offer and hope they’ve impressed the judges enough to progress through to the final and the chance to win a life-changing prize pot.
Six hour-long episodes of “The Big Deal” will premiere on Virgin Media Television this fall. “The Big Deal” is created and owned by Fae.

The Lifetime channel gets labeled many things, but revolutionary isn’t one of them. And yet, while watching their latest Christmas romance, “Christmas Ever After,” I kept using that word. The story is simple: Romance writer Izzi Simmons travels to a small-town family lodge for Christmas where she meets a man who looks just like the fictional figure on her book covers. If you think you know where the story goes you’d be absolutely right. The difference is that Izzi is played by Tony winner — and wheelchair user — Ali Stroker.
When the script for “Christmas Ever After” came her way, Stroker — who has been a vocal proponent of inclusive casting and casting disabled performers in any role — was immediately drawn to how the role didn’t require a disabled performer specifically. “I was so thrilled to see disability wasn’t necessarily a part of the story,” Stroker told IndieWire.

What’s a romantic holiday TV movie without a big kiss, whether it’s under the mistletoe, in the snow or by the fire? Not as merry, that’s for sure. That’s why Lifetime began to troubleshoot the actors-kissing-during-a-pandemic conundrum it was facing while shooting its annual slate of small-screen Christmas films, which total 30 projects this year.
“Everybody was incredibly concerned about, as we were figuring it out, making sure that we were following the best possible guidelines to keep people safe,” Amy Winter, head of programming at Lifetime, told TheWrap. “We all sat down, even before we got started, saying, how is anybody even going to kiss in these movies, given the circumstances? And the greatest, oddest solution I’ve seen so far is people kissing through plexiglass that can be removed in post, which is absolutely phenomenal.”
That solution Winter told TheWrap about was used in “Christmas Ever After,...

Saying goodbye is never easy, and fortunately in television, there are lots of ways to avoid goodbyes altogether. As Being Human wraps its third season, it is saying goodbye to fans for a few months until it returns for its fourth season. Similarly the fate of Amy Aquino’s character Donna is kind of in limbo right now as the supernaturally infused-series has a habit of bringing back its characters from the dead on more than one occasion. Death is not as ironclad point of no return in Being Human. To share a bit more about where this season is going to leave fans hanging and what Donna’s ultimate fate may be, in a recent press conference call stars Meaghan Rath and Amy Aquino teased what lies ahead.
What can you tell us about what we have to look forward to in the final episodes?

After teasing us with a measly three stills from next week's episode of "Being Human" (although we're not complaining since they feature Revolutionary War-era Aidan), Syfy has released a few more images, and it looks like Josh and Sally are up to no good in "For Those About to Rot."

The Season 2 finale of Being Human, “It’s My Party and I’ll Die if I Want To” completed a circle for Josh (Sammy Huntington) and Aidan (Sam Witwer) that began at the season premiere, “Turn This Mother Out.” Sally’s (Meaghan Rath) funny but poignant line–their last scene in the house together by the way–summed up the entire episode.
Sally: You two are about to go on two killing sprees for women… That is so hot.
Josh and Nora (Kristen Hager) found themselves in another standoff– this time against Josh’s maker, Ray (Andreas Apergis) and as humans, not wolves. In “Turn This Mother Out,” Aidan dug up his former love, Suren (Dichen Lachman) after an 80-year punishment and his fate is unknown after he’s thrown into the same casket that she laid in for decades but with her ashes covering his body.

Being Human He needs a new nail person “Partial Eclipse of the Heart” Air Date: 4/2/12
The action picks up directly where we were left off from last week, with Aidan cornered by Henry and a couple of Mother’s henchman vamps. Instead of staking Aidan, Henry turns on the other vampires and helps Aidan elude capture. Henry wants to help Aidan on the lam, and run away with him (and leave Suren), but Aidan refuses, wanting Henry to move up Mother’s ranks instead and is unable to leave his love behind. He gives Henry a little stake in the side to make his point, and to save Henry from suspicion on returning empty handed. Suren, meanwhile, is starving and restless, wanting to feed and wondering if she made the right decision to leave with Aidan after all. To sate Suren’s hunger, Aidan goes off to find a new...

Surprise! No more (fore)skin
Being Human, Season 2, Episode 9 “When I Think About You I Shred Myself” Air Date: 3/12/2012
Even without Nora and her wolfpack, Being Human improves by the week. This week we get a frightening resolution (of sorts) in Sally’s Reaper storyline, Aidan helps the skinless Henry heal while he ruminates over their shared past, and the awesome Jay Baruchel guest stars as Josh’s deceased friend Stu, who, ahem, complicates Josh’s relationship with his original ex, Julia (When I think about Natalie Brown I _____ myself).
To atone for his mistakes of the past and to rejoin Aidan and Suren’s ranks, Henry got flayed at the end of the last episode. While we were spared that image, we aren’t spared the creepy Red Skull-like results of Suren’s revenge. Aidan brings him to the house, which doesn’t sit well with Josh, who begrudgingly invites Henry inside.

I hope you enjoyed the fun-loving atmosphere in the house because the you-know-what is about to hit the spreader. Give showrunners Jeremy Carver and Anna Fricke credit for risking the image of their three likable lead characters in an attempt to explore their dark sides. We may not be able to unrecognizable them in the end. To take them from a very comfortable place and endangering them threatens to push each character to the edge shows guts. The aggressive start and not knowing how far they’re willing to push the roommates makes each episode a can’t miss, with key ingredients that will carry important character-building moments for down the road. Aidan (Sam Witwer) falls off the wagon and crawls closer and closer to a version of himself that he fears, Sally (Meaghan Rath) continues to hit roadblocks in finding a new direction forcing her to act on her impulsive desires,...

A few months ago, during a conference on film writing in Montreal, Canadian director Jacob Tierney (The Trotsky) stated that he no longer had the right to use Notre Dame de Grace as the title of his next film. As you can see on his next film's new poster, the title was changed to Good Neighbours.
First of all, Tierney didn't expose the reasons why his next film's title had to be changed.

Remember that director Jacob Tierney declared on October that we should be expecting an upcoming film of his that takes place in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, a district in Montreal. Well, Jay Baruchel, one of the film's stars, just confirmed this morning in an interview that production is underway for this dark film.
First of all, the film is adapted from the novel Chère voisine, which was written by Chrystine Brouillet. According to Myriad Pictures, the U.S. distributor, the story goes like this: In the dead of winter, a serial killer is on the loose in the small Montreal neighborhood of Notre Dame de Grace. Who Is Kk Downey? - DVD Review
There is such a need to become famous nowadays.
When you break it down, fame isn’t really a commodity that can be stored away, saved for later, or preserved. It’s fleeting when and if it happens and it is gone just as quickly. What makes this movie such a delight is its meditation on the nature of fame but it does so with the kind of obnoxiousness that requires a humorist’s touch.

“There's this hilarious dive karaoke bar with this like one-armed waitress that totally hits on everybody.”
This is just one of the many pearls you will hear in Who is Kk Downey?, a very indie flick devoted to the hilarity of hipsterdom. That this “hilarious dive karaoke bar” is the perfect place for a funeral's after-party is the tabasco-flavored icing on the vegan cake that reads “Congratulations on a Short Parole!” for no reason.

They live together, play in a band together, and more or less fail at life together. After Theo's manuscript about Kk Downey, a southern boy with a sordid past, is rejected by his manager because no one wants to buy a book by a chubby white boy from the suburbs, he and Terrance concoct...

Who is Kk Downey? Careful, that might be a trick question. Although we actually do discover who Kk Downey is, or isn’t, it probably doesn’t matter much in this wildly well-done satire of our culture’s sick fascination with fame and fortune and the nasty things some people will do to achieve an illusory success. Perhaps it’s best to say Kk Downey is also the imaginary door that opens into the dark world of money, power, fame and, oh yeah – ball-busting satire.
Our story revolves around the irresponsible and/or genius antics of two 20-something suburbanite losers, Terrance and Theo, who discover that sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for. You just might get it. Their quest to be...
