Netflix’s very first tween sitcom Alexa & Katie is set to return for a second season. Sophomore year, here we come! Season 1 of Alexa & Katie launched on March 23 and is currently streaming on Netflix. Watch it Here!
About Alexa & Katie:
Alexa & Katie, Netflix’s first fully produced tween sitcom, is a funny and heartwarming show about two best friends eagerly anticipating the start of their freshman year of high school. Despite the fact that Alexa (Paris Berelc – Mighty Med, Lab Rats: Elite Force) is undergoing cancer treatment, her outgoing personality and enthusiasm for life never falter, especially with her loyal and awkwardly adorable best friend Katie (newcomer Isabel May) by her side. At times they’re left feeling like outsiders, during a period when what seems to matter most is fitting in. Tiffani Thiessen (White Collar, Saved By The Bell) also stars as Lori, Alexa’s determined and protective mother.

“Alexa & Katie” answers the question that no one had thought to ask: What does the Disney-fication of cancer look like? That is by no means a knock on the series, but rather a question that reveals more about how our society shields its kids from the harsh realities that many of them unfortunately have to face every day.
The new teen comedy is part of Netflix’s recent offerings of Ya programming that has ranged from the darkly transgressive “End of the Fucking World,” to the more realistic “On My Block” and the angsty “Everything Sucks!” “Alexa & Katie” is the most lightweight of them all despite the cancer storyline. Everything about the series screams Disney Channel comedy, from the cutesy color palette and kooky shenanigans to the conspicuous laugh track and uniformly beautiful cast.

New season, new 'do! When June arrived Rosario Dawson was ready to take the plunge. Following shaved stars such as Amanda Bynes, Avril Lavigne and Cassie, the actress gave the left side of her head a buzz cut. Why the sudden crop? "Summer time and change," the star told E! at last night's Samsung Hope for Children event in New York City. Apparently that same feeling is going around Hollywood. Over the weekend, Pink also took trimmers to her locks too. —Reporting by Jennifer Cooper...

It’s set to be directed by Michael Mayer, who directed the pilot of NBC’s “Smash,” and has Theron attached as a producer. “The List,” a Fox pilot about a U.S. marshal tasked with tracking down the killer, or killers, who are systematically murdering people in the witness protection program, is set to be cast by Jennifer Cooper. It's time for the big reveal, my friends. As promised, embedded below is Jen and Sylvia Soska's new PSA for the Massive Blood Drive. And embedded within this video is the actress they've chosen to star in American Mary, their sure-to-be-shocking follow-up to last year's absolutely-was-shocking Dead Hooker in a Trunk.
After a grueling search that took them from the hills of Hollywood to the canyons of Manhattan, the Twisted Twins finally found their Mary in their very own backyard. I'm excited to announce that talented Canadian actress Katharine Isabelle is the woman who will bring American Mary to life.
While I'm sure you all remember Isabelle from the 2000 film Ginger Snaps, you probably don't realize that she's more than a scream queen. In the years since that classic slice of Canadian horror was released, Isabelle has established a solid career as a well-rounded, hard-working character actress. But this...

Lisa Soltau was living in Seattle when her friend Bonnie Gillespie sent her a book she had written called "Casting Qs," a compilation of interviews with casting directors. "I read it and I absolutely loved all the aspects of the job," says Soltau. "I loved the entertainment industry and movies and television. The process of casting sounded wonderful."She called one of the two casting offices in Seattle and ended up working as an intern there for about six months. But the CD told her she should move to New York or Los Angeles if she really wanted to pursue a career in casting. "I picked L.A. because I had lived there once for about three years and I thought it would be easier to acclimate there," Soltau says. "Plus I wanted to work on 'Six Feet Under,' which was airing at the time.
