In 2006, Joel Wein wrote the stage play, "There's No Place Like Home" for Habitat For Humanity. The produced play earned enough money to purchase land at seven locations and build seven homes for seven homeless families. When Joel was presented compensation for his work, he tore the check up without ever looking at it and said, "Thanks, but no thanks. Go build more homes".
