Fox News and the Trump White House: a seamlessly integrated human centipede. Want proof? Look no further than the fact that Bill Shine, current White House communications director and the former president of Fox News, collects checks from both shops. (Shine, who resigned from Fox after the network was rocked by a series of sexual misconduct scandals, is still being paid out the remainder of a $7 million bonus.) Hope Hicks, who preceded Shine in his government gig, now works at his old network’s parent company, 21st Century Fox.

State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert is no longer in line to become United Nations ambassador after withdrawing her name from consideration Saturday.
“I am grateful to President Trump and Secretary [Mike] Pompeo for the trust they placed in me for considering me for the position of U.S. ambassador to the United Nations,” Nauert said in the statement today. “However, the past two months have been grueling for my family and therefore it is in the best interest of my family that I withdraw my name from consideration.”
President Trump announced his intention to nominate Nauert in December — but didn’t immediately send her nomination to the Senate.
The Washington Post reported Saturday that Nauert’s nomination was derailed by nanny issues, saying she previously hired a nanny who was in the U.S. legally, but lacked the proper work visa. The publication also said Nauert “didn’t pay taxes on the nanny at that time.

Kimberly Guilfoyle, who has worked as an on-air panelist on Fox News programs like “The Five” and “Outnumbered” since 2006, is no longer with the 21st Century Fox-owned network, according to a statement released Friday afternoon. She is widely expected to join the parade of Fox News personalities and executives who have gone to work for the Trump administration.
Guilfoyle, who has been linked romantically to Donald Trump Jr. in recent months, has long been said to have strong ties to the president. Fox News did not cite specific factors behind the parting of the ways. Previous reports in Vanity Fair and CNN suggested Guilfoyle, who was once married to Gavin Newsom, now lieutenant governor of California, might now work with Trump supporters in the run-up to U.S. elections in 2018.

Bill Shine, the veteran Fox News executive, has officially joined the Trump administration as the White House’s head of communications, a move that accentuates President Donald Trump’s ties to the 21st Century Fox-owned media outlet.
Shine will succeed Hope Hicks in the role of communications chief, a tough assignment in an administration where leaks are plentiful and the President is known for his unpredictability and for sending Twitter messages at all hours of the day. Shine’s formal title is special assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff for communications.
Over the years, Shine rose from being a producer at Fox News to having a hand in many of its programming operations. When he left the outlet last year, he was one of its co-presidents. But he became tangled in controversies surrounding the departure of Roger Ailes, Fox News’ longtime chairman and CEO. Ailes left...

Donald Trump continues to dismiss the report that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called the president a “moron” — but would be happy to compare Iq tests to see who the real moron is.
In an interview with Forbes magazine published Tuesday, Trump insinuated that he would win in a battle of smarts with Tillerson.
“I think it’s fake news, but if he did that, I guess we’ll have to compare Iq tests,” he said. “And I can tell you who is going to win.”

Bill O'Reilly put the Fox News slogan to the test on “The O'Reilly Factor” on Thursday, but never really came to a definitive conclusion. After a viewer said that he was tired of seeing “smug liberals like Kirsten Powers and Alan Colmes” on the network, O'Reilly jumped to their defense. “Fair and balanced is the Fox News motto. If the liberal view were not represented, we'd be liars, so that's ridiculous,” he said. O'Reilly then asked “Fox & Friends” host Heather Nauert how many liberal contributors the network had. Illinois State University has decide to make gender-neutral bathrooms a part of their campus, but “Fox & Friends” might not necessarily approve. Hosts of Fox News’ oft-controversial morning show were caught on camera giggling at the very thought. “Someone call the P.C. police,” said Heather Nauert, kicking off her report with the least neutral sentence imaginable. “You're not going to believe this one.” The panel then plastered a picture of the pink and blue signs the university is using to designate the neutral bathrooms (above), and shared another good laugh.
