Taiwan’s legalization of gay marriage last year helpfully came in time for the real-world launch of the Gol Summit, Asia’s largest LGBTQ+ filmmaking conference. That in turn helped maintain the momentum for a second edition that, due to the coronavirus pandemic, will be a fully virtual affair.
The event, which runs Monday and Tuesday is backed by the GagaOOLala streaming platform, launched by Taiwan studio Portico Media, in collaboration with the Taiwan Content Creative Agency (Taicca). The Gol Summit is also one of the first events this year in a series that makes up the 2020 Taiwan Creative Content Fest International Market (Tccf).
The focus of the first day is the GagaOOLala Pitching Sessions, aimed at bringing together financiers, distributors and sales agents around some 15 new pieces of LGBTQ content – features, series and shorts.

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film, web series, TV pilot, what-have-you in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.
In the meantime: Is this a project you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.
For Izzy
Logline: A narrative feature told in a documentary format that includes mixed media, such as animation, iPhone and GoPro footage. Dede, a recovering addict, moves in next door to Laura, a young woman with Asd, and the pair form an unlikely friendship.
Elevator Pitch:
3 out of our 4 leads are female. One is Lgtbq, another is high-functioning with Asd, and the last couple are 60+ in age. They are all Asian-American. In addition, our production team and crew also consists of over 50% women and PoC. If you’re an advocate for diversity – this is your film.
That being said, this isn’t a film about diversity.

Previously on "The Glass House," the show was no "Big Brother." First off, the live feeds are totally boring. Secondly, the show only airs once a week, which is fine for most shows, but on a show like this, it feels like it's been forever. All this stuff has been happening in the house that we have no idea about.
Plus, since the players don't vote each other out, there is no strategizing and scheming, which is boring. And finally, Alex - a total d-bag who thinks he's so much cleverer than he actually is. Hopefully the viewers saw that about him and didn't vote to bring him back.
The Aftermath
The players are told that one of the guys quit and that the viewers still vote on the other one. So Kevin takes some time to make fun of Jacob and Alex and he's actually pretty funny, especially when...
