Ah, the era of the selfie. While there's probably a whole bunch of verbiage we could write about how celebrity culture has changed in recent times, especially with the advent of social media enabling actors and actresses a more direct way to reach fans, here's a short film that has a different take on the matter. "Aspirational," from director Matthew Frost, is a quick two-minute film starring Kirsten Dunst for Vs. Mag and Iconoclast. It's an entertaining little morsel, in which Dunst, playing herself, is stopped by two fans who pose for an endless array of photos with the actress. Of course, the fans are more interested in sharing the pic and being tagged than in actually talking with her. It's a nice little comment on the age of the Instagram and worth a click below. And if you like this, be sure watch Frost's previous short, "Fashion Film" starring Lizzy Caplan.

We love Lizzy Caplan, but then who doesn’t? It’s pretty hard not to. She was awesome in one of the best comedies of the last decade (“Mean Girls”), similarly awesome in one of the best sitcoms of the last decade (“Party Down”), and has continued to impress in interesting projects ever since. We’re looking forward to seeing her alongside another favorite of ours, Michael Sheen, in Showtime’s intriguing looking “Masters of Sex” later this year. But today we have an unexpected bonus dose of Caplan with the online short, “Fashion Film.” You can watch the short below, which was directed by Matthew Frost, and as you’ll see, it is actually a commercial for the Viva Vena brand. It serves as a pretty great spoof, effectively poking fun at some of the clichés you’d normally see in this kind of thing, and predictably Caplan’s great in it too.

Ever wince at the self-indulgent fashion films you find on sites like Nowness and portable.tv? Here's a refreshing spoof of the form that's sure to ease the headache. Matthew Frost's "Fashion Film" (an actual fashion film for Vena Cava's lower-priced offshoot line Viva Vena) pokes fun at It-Girl culture and the unapologetic narcissism so often displayed by fashion brands today. Lizzy Caplan (of "Mean Girls"fame) is hilarious as a wistful beauty who waxes poetic about 60s records, thinking in French, and her collection of seashells.

Kristen was just embarking on her ‘Twilight’ journey when she got fun and flirty for French magazine ‘Jalouse’ and she had No clue that she was about to meet the man of her dreams!
The saying goes: you find love when you’re not looking and Kristen Stewart definitely wasn’t on the prowl. These just released photos were snapped by Matthew Frost for Jalouse magazine in 2008 and at the time Kristen was still dating actor Michael Angarano. She had just started shooting the first Twilight film … and was about to meet her soulmate!
Three years later, she’s reportedly the fifth highest paid actress in the world and she’s full-on dating her Breaking Dawn co-star Robert Pattinson. They even share a dog, Bear, together. At the time these pics were taken she was only 17-years-old!
Isn’t it crazy to think that Kristen had no idea what was about to happen?...
