For the Pollo Lounge pop-up, guests were served generous portions of chicken tenders, french fries, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and biscuits at tables centered around a small stage. The first full-length trailer for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three has just hit (via Toonado.com), and it teases what looks to be a high-stakes finale to this animated trilogy (and the Tomorrowverse as we know it).
With the Anti-Monitor on the loose, a whole host of heroes assemble to save the Multiverse, but it looks like that will be easier said than done when they also have Lex Luthor to contend with. Several other villains are also spotted, including The Joker, Scarecrow, and Two-Face.
In terms of cameos, the trailer ends with another Batman: The Animated Series tease. Batman Beyond also appears, but perhaps the biggest surprise comes when we return to the world of the Super Friends!
The Saturday morning cartoon aired between 1973 and 1985 on ABC and was produced by Hanna-Barbera. That classic animation style returns here and we're hoping the movie has even...

Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths - Part Three Cover Art Reveals The Movie's Lead Characters
When the news broke during last year's San Diego Comic-Con that the Crisis on Infinite Earths comic book was being turned into a three-part animated movie, DC fans rejoiced.
The CW previously adapted the story for the Arrowverse, but this version had the opportunity to bring together countless animated characters from across the Dcau in an ambitious retelling of the story. Unfortunately, the opening two chapters have been mostly disappointing.
There's still a chance it will end on a high note, of course, and a first look at Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three's cover art has now found its way online (via Toonado.com).
Recreating the iconic shot of Superman holding the downed Supergirl, we also see Mister Terrific, Batman, Lex Luthor, Hawkgirl, Hourman, Wonder Woman, and The Joker. Looming in the background is the massive Anti-Monitor.
While a Watchmen movie is still expected to be released later this year,...

Darren Criss has played queer roles over the years and is now explaining why he says he’s “culturally gay.”
One of the actor’s most remembered roles is Blaine Anderson from Glee, and during an appearance at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, he was asked about the impact of his character and the on-screen relationship with Chris Colfer’s Kurt.
“F***ing awesome,” Criss said about portraying the gay character. “It was a narrative that I cared deeply about.”
Criss identifies as a straight, cisgender male and attributes his understanding of the LGBTQ+ community to his upbringing in San Francisco, California.
“I have been so culturally queer my whole life,” he said. “Not because I’m trying, you know, actually, I was gonna say, not because I’m trying to be cool, but I’m gonna erase that, because I am trying to be cool. The things in my...

The iconic DC Comics storyline Crisis on Infinite Earths is being adapted into a three-part animated film series. Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two was recently released digitally after the first installment premiered in early 2024. During a recent interview, producer Butch Lukic, who is known for his work on other Dcau projects, discussed the film’s larger budget.

However, at the same time, Lukic also highlighted the sheer volume of work it took to adapt the expansive comic book storyline into three films. As a result, Lukic’s comments indirectly imply that the Dcau film series may have encouraged one of the most toxic and controversial practices that has also plagued the MCU. Here is what the Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths series‘ larger budget meant for those who worked on it.

Last year was a standout year for animation, and 2024 is already shaping up to be another banger. While a majority of the high-profile animation releases are due out later this summer, the first quarter of 2024 has already been promising. We at /Film are constantly singing the praises of animation as a medium, and doing our best to course-correct the ignorant idea that animation is only for children. Admittedly, this list is going to look mighty small for the time being, but it will be updated throughout the year as more films become available. As we noted last year, animation is one of the only mediums where global cinema is given an equal footing to studio-produced films in America, with the artistic visuals serving as a universal language that we can all enjoy. Meaning, this list is not limited to Hollywood animation releases ... and that's a good thing. As for now,...

It’s early afternoon on a Friday when Darren Criss and Evan Rachel Wood pick up the phone, just five days before they are set to debut as the new Seymour and Audrey in off-Broadway’s Little Shop of Horrors.
Both are on their way to the Westside Theatre stage for their first top-to-bottom run-through, taking over the complicated but beloved characters based on Roger Corman’s 1960 horror comedy and deftly adapted for the stage by theater legends Howard Ashman (book and lyrics) and Alan Menken (music).
Now in the fifth year of the U.S. revival of the dark goings-on of a Skid Row flower shop, several notable names have left their mark on the show: Jonathan Groff, Jeremy Jordan, Conrad Ricamora, Corbin Bleu, Constance Wu, Maude Apatow, Tammy Blanchard and Lena Hall. But none quite like this, as an intentional leap together among friends.

One of the most exciting new animated series this year is Hazbin Hotel, a Prime Video series from Vivienne Medrano that tells the surreal tale of Charlie Morningstar (voiced by Erika Henningsen), the princess of Hell, who tires of an annual purge whereby angels descend from Heaven to smite demons, and, along with her girlfriend Vaggie (Stephanie Beatriz), creates the Hazbin Hotel — a rehab clinic of sorts for those in Hell so that they can gain entry into the Kingdom of Heaven.

It’s check-in time at “Hazbin Hotel,” where there are always vacancies but where Charlie, princess of Hell, is making sure you leave your baggage behind. Jo Koy will be fine. That was the general consensus at the Golden Globes after-parties, where most agreed that Koy flopped — but he remains a popular talent. The stand-up comedian has two specials coming to Netflix, including one this year that taped last November in Brooklyn. He has millions of fans and is constantly touring, hitting the road once again this weekend and even taking a few of his own jabs at what happened. Plus, the Globes grew by a whopping 50% — averaging 9.4 million viewers — after bottoming out in 2023.
In other words, Jo Koy is Ok. Still, with that kind of global platform, his misstep stung a bit. This was a milestone for the comedian, and his hiring was a proud moment for many Filipino Americans — a group often ignored by Hollywood.

The feud between Steven Yeun and Ali Wong's road-raging characters in Netflix comedy-drama "Beef" was hot enough to win both actors a Golden Globe each, for Best Actor and Best Actress in a limited series, alongside a third win for Best Miniseries or TV Film. Wong in particular made history with her win, becoming the first actress of Asian descent to win in the category.
"Beef" kicks off with a close encounter between the cars of struggling contractor Danny Cho (Yeun) and wealthy entrepreneur Amy Lau (Wong). Since both are brimming with suppressed rage over various problems in their lives, the near-miss triggers excessive horn-honking, an uncalled-for middle finger, and ultimately a furious car chase. But that battle is only the start of the war as Danny and Amy both become obsessed with their newfound nemeses, kicking off a grudge-match that escalates wildly out of control.

Ali Wong has struck gold in her first outing as a dramatic lead.
The top stand-up comedian has won the 2024 Golden Globe for best actress in a limited series for her performance in Netflix’s Beef. Although Wong previously starred in the rom-com Always Be My Maybe and has a string of voice credits in animated comedies, Beef, with its darkly comic turns and existential meditations, was her first foray into substantive dramatic fare. As Amy Lau, a tightly-wound entrepreneur, wife and mother whose simmering self-loathing leads to an escalating battle of mutually assured destruction opposite Steven Yeun’s scammy contractor Danny (who also won a Golden Globe tonight), Wong, who executive produced the series, won widespread critical praise and is an Emmy nominee for the role.
