- Sean "Sid" Post is a multi-hyphenate Lighting Director/Designer/DP who has earned 5 National Emmy Awards for Lighting Design, an Emmy for Production Design plus an additional 14 Emmy Nominations for his work. Over the past 25 years, Sean's career has taken him all over the world working on projects in every facet of the entertainment industry.
His senior year of high school Sean was accepted into the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Planing on perusing a career as an aerospace engineer, he made a life changing decision. Sean deferred from the United States Naval Academy to pursue a life in the entertainment business. Furthering his education he attended Columbia College in Chicago studying technical theater and television production. While attending college he honed his craft at local theaters in Chicago, along with the theater department Columbia College. Ballet Chicago shortly called upon Sean to tour around the country as their Technical PA and later becoming Master Electrician for two years. During the ballet's off season Sean was Master Electrician at various theaters in Chicago including Pegasus Players Theater, Strawdog Theater Company and Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre.
Moving from theater to television, Sean became the Assistant Lighting Director at the famous Harpo Studios for The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1994 and became Lighting Director in 2001. He has designed lighting for over 3,700 episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show earning six National Emmys for Lighting Direction and Production Design and a BDA Award. Sean was also the Production & Lighting Designer for OWN Network designing shows that Oprah Winfrey is hosting, such as Oprah's Next Chapter, Oprah Prime, O at the Movies, Super Soul Sundays, Life Class and Master Class. His design also includes shows from Harpo Productions on multiple networks with The Dr. Laura Berman Show, The Nate Berkus Show, The Gayle King Show and The Rosie Show.
Sean has resided in Los Angeles for the last 11 years, where he has designed and facilitated projects for the following networks: ABC Disney, NBC, Comedy Central, OWN, Food Network, CBS and ABC Family. These shows include: Tough As Nails, FabLife, The High Court, and Emmy winning shows, Naturally Danny Seo and "Steve" the new Steve Harvey Talk Show. Along with such televised specials as the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Super Bowl LI Opening Night.
