Starz has released a new teaser for the third season of the comedy horror series Ash vs. Evil Dead – which will premiere in the Us on Sunday, February 25th 2018. The new season finds Ash, having gone from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero, discovering that he has a long lost daughter who’s been entrusted in his care. I believe (or choose to believe) that, like me, many people on this site love the Evil Dead series. I think that's a pretty safe bet. And what makes that series work so well is the affable charisma of series protagonist Ash Williams, played with goofy aplomb by the one, the only, Bruce Campbell. And while the Starz show Ash Vs. Evil Dead has had its ups-and-downs, Campbell himself always brings it. And,... Read More...

Well, Bruce Campbell did promise a jaw-dropping third season.
In honor of Halloween, Starz has today unleashed the groovy, decidedly Nsfw first teaser for Ash Vs. Evil Dead, which sadly won’t return until February of next year – a first for the horror sequel series, given previous instalments have dropped in the fall. The good news is that Ash Williams (Campbell) hasn’t lost his knack for slaying Deadites in the most gruesome ways imaginable, and above you’ll see our zombie-killing hero reunite with his long-lost daughter.
What follows is a gory, blood-drenched descent into madness, and while ratings slumped mid-way through season 2, all signs point to Ash Vs. Evil Dead firing on all cylinders in time for 2018. Behind the scenes, Sam Raimi still holds an executive producer credit on the horror-themed spinoff, though Starz’s series has now been placed in the hands of showrunner Craig Digregorio.

Game of Thrones may be the most-pirated television show in the land – season 7 alone was reportedly pirated over a billion times – but it’s not the only one to fall prey to illegal torrents.
Take Ash Vs. Evil Dead as an example. The cult horror series, which began life as a sequel to Sam Raimi’s iconic trilogy, chronicles the post-apocalyptic journey of Ash Williams, who hasn’t lost his appetite for slaughtering Deadites left, right, and center, even on the wrong side of 50.
And though Starz’s Ash Vs. Evil Dead has carved out an audience to call its own, particularly as that audience braces for the oncoming third season, Bruce Campbell (Williams) has gone on record to criticize those who seek out new episodes via illicit channels. The actor, who is known for his signature sarcasm, voiced his frustration during a recent book signing in Sacramento (via 1428 Elm...

Jason Vorhees is cool. Freddy Krueger is cool. Ash Williams is extremely cool. So tossing all three of them into the same film and letting them bloodily duke it out sounds like the badass monster mash of the century. With that in mind, we have to ask, why did it never happen?
After all, 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason tore up the box office upon its release and neither character is any stranger to chronic sequelitis. Indeed, for the longest time, it was rumored the Ash vs. Jason vs. Freddy was on the brink of being greenlit, only for it to disappear back into development hell.
Now, in an interview at Nycc, Bruce Campbell finally explained why the project never got off the ground:
“We had a five minute conversation with New Line Cinema about Ash vs. Jason vs. Freddy. They approached us. So they go, ‘What do you think about that?...

For two years on the trot, Ash Vs. Evil Dead laid claim to Starz’s Halloween slate, serving up a delightfully over-the-top dish of blood, guts, and chainsaw-wielding maniacs.
With season 3, though, the network has shuffled its deck in such a way that the horror-comedy series, one rustled up by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy, has now relocated to winter – February 25th, 2018, to be specific – for its third year on the airwaves. Exactly how Ash Vs. Evil Dead will fare in this new slot is up for question, but with Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) now being championed as a “humanity-saving hometown hero,” we imagine Deadites across the globe will be tuning in come February.
Indeed, as part of the show’s presence at New York Comic Con this past weekend, Campbell told those in attendance that season 3 will be “really, really different” – so different, in fact, that we...

Sam Raimi’s debut full-length horror film, The Evil Dead, is an imaginative, low-budget showpiece that centres around demonic possession within the isolated forests of rural Tennessee.
Five university students make an unplanned stopover at a remote, abandoned cabin and discover an ancient tome dubbed the “Book of the Dead.” Inadvertently, our gang of adventurers (led by the wonderfully over-the-top Bruce Campbell) release a fiendish demon that’s hellbent on possessing the living and spilling as much blood as humanly demonly possible. The deliciously nasty horror cult-classic didn’t so much as push the gore envelope, as it ripped the darned thing up, covered it in crimson corn syrup and blasted it with a 12-gauge boomstick, ensuring that its legacy would live on for decades to come.
Over the years, we’ve received some truly inspired mashups and parodies involving Raimi’s beloved franchise and today brings forth yet another.

Bruce Campbell will always be associated with Ash Williams from The Evil Dead. From the series’ splattered beginnings in the 1980s through to the bizarre yet awesome medieval spoof The Army of Darkness, through various spinoff videogames and, most recently, to the sleeper hit Ash vs. Evil Dead. There’s just something about his goofy, matinee idol looks and famously prominent chin that makes him the perfect foil for the deadite hordes.
But now, if we’re reading this interview that Campbell did with Syfy Wire right, Ash might be gone for good. When the outlet asked him a question beginning with, “When you hang up that chainsaw for the last time and Ash is gone, you’re moving on…” Campbell interrupted them with, “Who says I haven’t?”

The result is Ash vs Evil Dead, which is a TV show on Starz that is still centered around Ash Williams but set 30 years after the events

Although it may be difficult to believe, horror fans recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of Sam Raimi's return to one of the creepiest cabins in cinema in Evil Dead II. To celebrate the seminal sequel, Sideshow Collectibles recently released an Ash Williams sixth scale figure that they sent our way, and fans can rest assured that this depiction of the iconic character is incredibly detailed, comes with awesome accessories, and is, above all else, groovy.
Designed by Joe Allard based on Bruce Campbell’s appearance as Ash in Evil Dead II, this sixth scale figure is featured in epic fashion on the outside of the box, which could be proudly displayed by collectors on its own. Opening the box is well worth it, though, as Sideshow’s Ash figure is a sight to behold—and a hell of a lot of fun to place in different poses.

One of the dumbest decisions that New Line Cinema ever made was to pass on the idea of making a Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash. That movie would've exploded at the box office. Plans to have Bruce Campbell's Ash Williams battle Freddy and Jason were actually set in motion after 2003's Freddy Vs. Jason, and Freddy himself, Robert Englund, loved the concept! Unfortunately, the studio didn't like director Sam Raimi's pitch.
When the movie didn't happen, a six-issue comic series was released in 2007-2008 that saw Ash conquer both Freddy and Jason. Englund talked to a bunch of fans at Emerald City Comic Con recently and shared his thoughts on the idea and why New Line never moved forward with it.
"I am very disappointed. We left some money on the table, as they say in Hollywood, right after the great success of Freddy vs. Jason. Sam Raimi...

Holy camel toe, it’s season finale time already?! I thought we had two more in the can for some reason. Huh? Oh well.
Last year, my reviews for Ash Vs Evil Dead were more involved, nay, extensive on an episode-by-episode basis than they were this year. That’s because of two things. 1) time constraints and 2) the realization that this show isn’t written with as much texture as I wanted it to be. I still heart Ash Vs Evil Dead and everything, even if it makes some questionable choices here and there from time to time, but Westworld it ain’t. It’s hard to write reams and reams...

If there’s going to be an episode of Ash Vs Evil Dead that I will ever feel conflicted about, it will most likely be Ashy Slashy. I didn’t know what to expect when I sat down to watch it, especially since last week’s instalment was more evidence that the writers are stretching out a simplistic storyline. And who can blame them? It’s hard to think up new and entertaining stories that involve such a huge horror icon as Ash Williams, a character who used to be good only in concentrated doses.
