Oh, the cobbled streets of Weatherfield, where the drama never ceases and the storylines are as thick as Betty’s hotpot. Most Awaited On-Screen Pairs Of 2024 Janhvi Kapoor – Jr Ntr To Hrithik Roshan – Deepika Padukone ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
The year 2023 gave us some of the most unexpected pairs in Shah Rukh Khan – Nayanthara, Ranbir Kapoor – Rashmika Mandanna, Tapsee Pannu – Shah Rukh Khan, Prabhas – Kriti Sanon, Ranbir Kapoor – Shraddha Kapoor, and more. Some of these pairings worked, and others didn’t, but audiences were nonetheless excited to watch these couples on-screen.
Now, in 2024, a lot of fresh pairings are waiting to display a crackling chemistry on-screen. Some of them are making the wait unbearable, and others are trying to make the audience eager with occasional teases.
The year 2024 has promised a lot of interesting films despite the three Khan superstars, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, putting up a no-show in the theaters this year. This has accommodated many films, which have raised the expectations and curiosity bar.

Actress Dot, whose real name is Aditi Saigal, debuted in the Hindi film industry with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’, which she says allowed her to express herself both through music and acting.
Dot played Ethel in the musical.
The actress has written and sang all four Dear Diary themes picturised on Khushi Kapoor, as well as lent her voice to the character of Betty (Khushi), singing and composing the song ‘Asymmetrical’.
She has also sung the other two chartbusters ‘Dhishoom Dhishoom’ and ‘Sunoh’.
Dot said: “I’m thrilled with the overwhelming love ‘The Archies’ music is receiving from listeners. Music is a big part of my identity, since I was a songwriter long before I ventured into the film industry. ‘The Archies’ allowed me to express myself both through music and acting, so naturally it will always be my most cherished project.”

Kristine Froseth is used to being the new girl. The New Jersey-born actress moved from Norway and back every few years for her father’s banking job, seesawing between friendships and cultures. Due to her nomadic lifestyle, she struggled to find herself during her formative years, she says, similar to her character Nan St. George in Apple TV’s The Buccaneers.
“I just wanted to fit in so desperately,” Froseth tells Rolling Stone. “So, I adapted to whatever people were doing. I was a chameleon.”
In The Buccaneers, whose finale dropped Dec.

When I was a kid growing up in the Berkeley flatlands, I used to play with a couple of neighbor kids, Tony and his little brother, Mikey. One day in 1979, two men got out of a car, approached Tony and Mikey’s house, and beat another man with a club. The neighborhood buzz was that the assailants were from a group called Synanon, and they were unhappy that their victim had left the group.

Once again, the holidays – or is it holidaze? – are upon us, bringing with it a flurry of Christmas movies.
You have your endless parade of cartoons, specials, Christmas-themed episodes of your favorite TV shows, bad holiday comedies (1996’s Jingle All the Way and 2007’s Fred Claus come to mind), and Christmas-set horror movies (1984’s Gremlins). Then there’s the cheesy yet feel-good Lifetime and Hallmark films. And how can we forget the 24-hour marathon of 1983’s A Christmas Story (celebrating its 40th anniversary this year), beginning on Christmas Eve and ending on Christmas Day?
If those don’t do it for you, maybe these lists of Christmas movies will.
Classic Christmas Movies
You can’t go wrong with these classics, which can lighten the hearts of even the most ardent cynics.

Fringe, Supernatural, Bob's Burgers... zombies pop up in all kinds of surprising places. Remember that time Ramsay Street was invaded?
Back in the 80s and 90s, the only groups regularly enjoying zombie movies were habitually stoned students, young lads looking to prove their mettle by lobbing VHS grenades of gore at each other's minds, and great sweating giants with mutton-chops corseted into two-sizes-too-small Iron Maiden T-shirts. Very few couples partook of the genre; liver-ripping and eye-gouging was rarely seen as the essential romantic complement to an evening entwined on the couch.
Aside from George A Romero’s satirical side-swipes at society, the majority of zombie movies were gloriously nasty, schlocky yuck-fests, with names like ‘Return Of The Great Zombie Intenstine Carnival III’, 'Zombies! Zombies, Oh, Christ Zombies, They're Eating My Eyes!' and ‘I Claw-hammered My Zombie Grandma’S Head Off’. Anyone with access to a video camera,...

A review of tonight's "Mad Men" coming up just as soon as I get The New York Times to print "Mein Kampf" on the front page... "This was a hell of a boat, you know?" -Roger There's a moment late in "Lost Horizon" that, if you've been on social media tonight, you've likely seen in gif form a few dozen times (or, like me, just kept it on in a loop in the background while writing about the episode). Peggy finally enters the McCann offices, Bert Cooper's infamous octopus painting under her arm, sunglasses concealing her hungover eyes, a cigarette dangling smugly from her lips. She has come a long, long way, baby, from the shy mouse whom Joan had to lead around the old Sterling Cooper office, and she is here to grab everything she's ever wanted, all on her way to one day having her name on...

Ugh, moving. Am I right?
First there’s the making sure all of your stuff gets boxed up and relocated to the proper destination. Then there’s the unpacking and realizing that you’ve accidentally opened a crate of ennui, a realization that makes it tough to continue doing the work you’ve done for years, so pointless does the endeavor seem when the great, wide world is out there for the taking and/or a sad waitress might need saving.

Actors who are cast in a film together often posses a certain quality or look that make them suitable as co-stars. And in this world of sequels, prequels, remakes, and competing franchises, it can be those same characteristics that also make them fitting for the same roles. Here are ten sets of actors who had played, or ended up playing, the same character as their co-star - but in a different movie (with a couple of television series exceptions):
Vito Corleone - Robert De Niro, Marlon Brando
Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro both earned Oscars for their portrayals of Vito Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola's Godfather trilogy. Decades later, the two Vito Corleones starred together in the 2001 heist thriller The Score, which was directed by the voice of Yoda himself, Frank Oz — an offer they couldn't refuse, he must have made them.

First published in 1939, the long-running Archie comics series featuring the freckled hero and his various friends have been adapted numerous times for television, but, surprisingly, he’s never hit the big screen before. Warner Bros. seems set to change all that, hiring Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to write and Pitch Perfect’s Jason Moore to direct a story that might put more of a twist on the concept than you might expect. For the uninitiated – and it’s not like Archie is exactly troubling 2000 Ad, Dennis the Menace or Desperate Dan for pop culture dominance in the UK – Archie is the eponymous teen hero tackling life, love and other issues with friends such as Betty, Veronica (love triangle alert!) and Jughead. Together, they’ve evolved through the years, hitching their wagon to various popular trends.Aguirre-Sacasa is the key name here, because he signed on earlier this year to create a new,...

We're officially into the second round of our March Madness Best Lesbian/Bi Character Ever poll, which means it's time for us to weigh in on our own favorites.
Bridget McManus: My pick is Dr. Arizona Robbins (Grey's Anatomy) because she represents a powerful lesbian, and actress Jessica Capshaw plays her like a real person. Robbins is incredibly intelligent, beautiful, quirky and her character is always consistent. I cherish consistency in a lady lovin' lady. The way Robbins dealt with the pregnancy of her girlfriend was spot on, and I think Hillary Clinton should consider her for her 2016 presidential running mate.
Ali Davis: Since Xena is not in the running (Heather Hogan, you and I are in a fight), I'm going to choose Bo from Lost Girl because she illustrates what bisexuality is like so well.

No matter how much people complain the zombie craze has reached a saturation point, something comes along and you realize it still has yet to fully hit its zenith. Take for example Afterlife with Archie, an upcoming comic book in which Riverdale gets The Walking Dead treatment.
You just can’t make this stuff up anymore. Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and the rest of the Riverdale kids will be forced to contend with zombies in a new comic book series launching later this year. It sounds like the basis for a Teefury mash-up shirt, doesn’t it? Nope. This is actually happening, and here’s how:
Jughead’s beloved pooch Hotdog is run over by Reggie in his roadster. He convinces Sabrina to hatch a spell to bring back the pooch, but when Hotdog bites Jughead, he soon craves flesh.
Deadline reportsAfterlife with Archie will be scripted by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

I have reported here and elsewhere about the goings-on at Archie Comics. While DC keeps on hitting the reset button like a monkey in a crack experiment, and Marvel keeps on doing endless – literally endless – mega-events, Archie has been slowly making history.
In the past several years they’ve added a major gay character and they’ve had Archie fall in love (on the cover, no less) with a black woman. They’ve taken ongoing looks into the potential futures of their characters, which plays against the assumptions held by our culture for more than 70 years. They’ve tried to make Riverdale look and feel more like the real world: even the hallowed Pop Tate’s has had to endure competition by national fast food chains. Archie Comics continues to be the major force in entertaining each next generation of comics readers; without their efforts and similar, but smaller, endeavors by Boom!

Coronation Street's producer Phil Collinson gave away plenty of spoilers during his interview on This Morning today (April 2), announcing the casting of Sue Johnston as Stella's mum, dramatic wedding plans for Rita and Dennis and the details of Betty's big secret. A few other snippets were also disclosed about Terry Duckworth's upcoming Weatherfield return and the future for Carla and Peter's relationship, which we'll detail here in Soap Scoop. Teasing Terry's comeback, Coronation Street's boss hinted that the villain will spot an opportunity when he learns that Tommy (Chris Fountain) has inherited some cash following his grandfather's death. Collinson joked: "He comes back to the street, and of course it's got nothing to do with the fact that his son - who he's never seen since he gave him (more)...

It’s the end of the year and everybody’s got their Top 10 list, and since I went to journalism school I’m obligated to list mine. I’m looking at titles that were released in 2011 because cover dates are meaningless. I’m not looking at original graphic novels or reprint projects, even though in dollar volume they constitute the majority of my purchases. Besides, original graphic novels are done to very different standards. Finally, some of these titles are done by friends of mine; I refuse to disqualify them because they just might buy me lunch. Having said all that…
#1 – Life With Archie Magazine (Archie)
Top of my list for the second year straight. Two stories – Archie marries Veronica, Archie marries Betty. Parallel worlds which converge, but that’s not why this book is great. There’s very real character development here, layered on personalities that existed for 70 years without it.

Julia (Marlee Maitlin) is the Head of the Department of Deaf Cultural studies and comments Sara must be 'The Other Mrs Grissom'. With only a few days left until Christmas day is upon us, chances are your kids are now out of class until next year and spending their free time in some mixture of snowball fights outside and curled up in front of the television inside (we'd love for them to be reading, but we know how kids are). While the time they spend outside frolicking in the snow equates to peaceful R&R time for you parents, you can help even if out by putting in some of these high-quality Christmas classics that are guaranteed to be as entertaining for the grown-ups as they are for the kids.

Plus clothing from Betty White, Ryan Murphy's new show, and Katy Perry dedicates "Ur So Gay" to a high school classmate.
Adam Lambert was relaxing on South Beach yesterday, minding his own business while wearing his grandmother’s hat, when a particular paparazzi just wouldn’t leave him alone, even after Adam asked him to leave. So Adam got physical with the pap. His friends restrained him, and no one got hurt, but we probably haven’t heard the last of this. In the ultimate irony, the pap who took pictures of the pap getting roughed up probably got paid more.
Ryan Murphy (Glee) is teaming up with Howard Gordan (24) to create a new high-concept drama dealing with people’s fears. Not much more is known, but with the names involved, it’s almost a lock for series.
The Black Eyed Peas are rumored for half-time at the Super Bowl.

Consider It The Condensed Version Of Bgwe!
I've been editing AfterElton.com for nearly five years now and I have to say this has been one of the wildest weeks I've had in a long time, if not ever.
What do you mean this doesn't look like my avatar picture? Try squinting a little. More. More. A little More. Oh, **#% you!
It kicked off Sunday morning when I did a post about Betty White's hosting of Saturday Night Live, and especially about the Scared Straight sketch.
Sunday night not only saw Jordan and Dan Pious winning The Amazing Race, but an episode of The Family Guy that had emails flying in and comments being posted on the site before it had even aired on the west coast. When I realized it was the "Quagmire's Dad" episode, I remembered Seth MacFarlane had mentioned it to me when I interviewed him last January.
