The Killers will require fans attending their New York City warmup gig on August 19th to be both vaccinated and show a negative Covid-19 test, perhaps the strongest mandate for audiences to date.
The Bowery Presents told ticket buyers on their website, “In order to be allowed in the venue you must: 1) be fully vaccinated (i.e., 14 days post-final dose of the Pfizer, Moderna, or J&j vaccine) 2) provide evidence of a negative test result for Covid-19 (Pcr or antigen), taken within 48 hours before the show.”

Minutes after the release of the Killers’ new album Imploding the Mirage, the band celebrated its arrival with a performance of “Blowback” on The Late Show.
While Brandon Flowers and company’s early-in-the-quarantine late-night TV performances saw them performing Imploding songs in their own bathroom and their recording studio, “Blowback” was somewhat of a return of normalcy for the band, who played the song together — yet kept social distance — from their concert stage.
The Killers previously debuted “Blowback” on CBS This Morning with a rendition from the band’s Utah studio.

Now in its 18th year, Louisville, Kentucky’s three-day Forecastle Festival is a mid-sized city fest done right, with a cross-genre slate of national rock, hip-hop and Americana acts, a lovely waterfront setting, a user-friendly layout, and an emphasis on the unpretentious Ohio River city’s dual traditions of bourbon, of course, and indie music that punches above its weight. Rs was on site for the 2019 installment this past weekend; here were some of the highlights.

It will most certainly be the wedding party to top all wedding parties, but who will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle choose to sing at their wedding reception next spring?
One thing we know for sure is that the royal groom-to-be has no shortage of choices. He recently convinced both Bruce Springsteen and Bryan Adams to sing at the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games in September, showing his appreciation by bowing down to them both.
Last year, Coldplay dropped everything to headline a concert at Kensington Palace for his charity, Sentebale. And back in 2007, he called on Rod Stewart,...

Covering "Fancy" is the thing to do these days. Crosby Stills and Nash did it. Weird Al did it. And during their Saturday-night performance at the V Festival in Staffordshire, England, the Killers stepped up to offer their own take on Iggy's summer anthem. In honor of the occasion, frontman Brandon Flowers changed the lyrics from "L.A. to Tokyo" to "Las Vegas to Staffordshire" while drummer Ronnie Vannucci performed an evocative interpretive dance featuring some Napoleon Dynamite–inspired hand moves. Suffice to say, it was not very fancy.

After co-writing the material for her first two albums, actress Minnie Driver decided to turn to songs that others first made famous for “Ask Me To Dance,” out Oct. 7. The Rounder/Zoe release, Driver’s first album since 2007, features her interpretations of such tunes as The Cure’s “Close To Me,” Neil Young’s “Tell Me Why,” Stevie Wonder’s “Master Blaster,” the Killer’s “Human,” Neil Finn’s “Better Be Home Soon,” and even going back to the Sinatra standard, “Fly Me To The Moon.” In this exclusive clip, HitFix premieres Driver singing “Waltz #2,” from the late Elliott Smith. As movie fans know, Smith’s “Miss Misery” was featured in one of Driver’s earlier film’s, “Good Will Hunting,” and the two were friends until his death. Continuing to excite their fans with new music, The Killers unveiled the music video for their new single "Just Another Girl" on Monday (November 25).
The single, which is one of two new tracks to be in the recently released record Direct Hits, features former "Glee" actress Dianna Agron stars in the new video, who appears to be the incarnation of the frontman Brandon Flowers.
Recently, the band's drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. spoke out about the Direct Hits being their "best of" album, which he considered as a bad move on their group's part.
"We'd wait another 10 years if it was up to us, but it's a contractual thing," Mr. Vannucci explained. "We can fill a CD so it makes good business sense at this time of year."
He continued, "However, it's not like we're so pleased with ourselves we want to put it out. It feels like a douchie move.

New York -- He's obviously a professional singer, but The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers still thought it was a good idea to take voice lessons before hitting the studio to record the band's new album.
"It seemed like the right thing to do," he said in a recent interview. "I wanted to be better, get better and it's just helped me. ... (My voice teacher) knows what my ambitions are and he knows there's a certain style and something I've already got going on. We're just trying to fine-tune a few things."
The 31-year-old added that he's "not trying to be an opera singer or anything."
Dressed in a leather motorcycle jacket, with close-cropped hair, the rock singer embodies the stage presence of an old-time crooner along the lines of Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennett. And while Flowers lists both icons as major influences, glam rocker David Bowie sits at the top of the heap.

One rainy night in Dublin, Tim Rice Oxley and Jesse Quin (of the band Keane) hatched a Guinness fuelled plot to make a country record whist warming themselves by hearth. The result is the cheerily named, Mt. Desolation, the name taken from Kerouac's "The Dharma Bums." It's a country-tinged pop album that you may not expect to come from a couple Englishmen tossing back pints in Ireland, though it wouldn't be the first time. With Emery Dobyns (Noah & The Whale, Patti Smith) at the console, they recorded most of the album live with guitars, vibes, banjo, piano and a drummer named Fimbo who's normally a farmer. Shire-country pop.
Guest players like The Killers' Ronnie Vannucci and Mumford & Sons' Country Winston lend a hand as does Noah & The Whale's Tom Fiddle Hobden, on fiddle. Though much about Mt. Desolation is fairly upbeat, it was the restrained, somber ballad, "State of Our Affairs,...

The Killers are desperate for a break - because they don't like each other any more. The "Human" rockers' friendships have been put to the test after spending months on the road together and are worried they will split up if they don't have some time apart soon.
However, with a crammed schedule of festival shows and their current Australian tour, the band - singer Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. and bassist Mark Stoermer - look unlikely to be able to take time off until 2010. The group's management and lawyers are believed to be desperately trying to find a way to adjust their schedule.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "They're exhausted. They haven't had a break since they first formed and it has started getting to them."
