Juan Pablo Félix is a film and theater director, who graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá, with an MFA in Theater Directing from Columbia University in New York thanks to a Fulbright scholarship.
He has led several audiovisual projects with important social content in Colombia, Australia and Germany. He has also worked as casting director (or part of the casting department) and acting coach for several films with premieres in festivals such as Cannes, San Sebastian, Toronto and Venice. Some of them are "María full of Grace", "Satanás", "The blood and the rain", "The Wind Journeys", "Candelaria", "El Piedra" and the TV series "Los caballeros las prefieren brutas", "El laberinto" and "Escobar, el patrón del mal".
In the academic world, Juan Pablo has developed an innovative method for directing actors on screen. His well-known acting/directing workshop has gained international resonance, reaching countries such as the United States, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Cuba.
In theater, he has produced both classical and contemporary productions. Some of them are "Tío Vanya", "Don Quixote", "La Ronde", the Colombian comedy "Dos Hermanas", the postcolonial fiction play "United States Of Banana" and the musical written and composed by him "The Amazing Story of El Hombre Caimán".
He has also been an associate professor at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota and a guest professor at the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de Los Baños, Cuba.
