A re-watch podcast for popular fantasy-drama series “Supernatural,” titled “Supernatural Then and Now,” is set to launch Jan. 24.
Hosted by Richard Speight, Jr. and Rob Benedict (who played the angel Gabriel and God in the series), “Supernatural Then and Now” will feature behind-the-scenes stories with cast, crew and producers of “Supernatural” — from favorite memories on set to conversations about mythology in the writers’ room.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support the fans of ‘Supernatural’ have given us over the years. We’re excited to be a part of this special gift to the fans that will arrive just in time for [one of the series’ protagonists] Dean Winchester’s birthday on January 24th,” said Speight, who also served as a director for the series. “Supernatural” ran for 15 seasons between 2005 and 2020, first on The WB, and then on The CW. “With 327 episodes, there’s a lot to untangle and so many stories to tell.”

My French Film Festival
Thanks to bids for Oscar consideration, the winter is traditionally one of the rare times foreign films get plenty of attention in the States, particularly at West Coast festivals such as Palm Springs and Santa Barbara. However, Francophiles in particular will be excited to know you won't have to go to California or New York -- or even Paris for that matter -- to be able to catch some of the most recent cinema from France since uniFrance is unveiling My French Film Festival, which is being billed as the "first exclusively online film festival celebrating French talent" that...

Human beings are bundles of contradictions. This week's direct-to-dvd column is about a film that explores one contradiction fundamental to human life: our need to belong and fit in within a peer group on the one hand, and the need to feel like we're special and stand out from the people around us on the other. It's a documentary about two fans of the '80s pop star Tiffany, though fans is too soft a word (and stalker may be too hard a word, since they don't want to hurt Tiffany, just feel like she cares about them as deeply as they care about her).
Both of these people -- a middle-aged man with Asperger Syndrome and an intersex woman in her thirties -- are outsiders who have difficulty fitting into society. Becoming fans of Tiffany in the 1980s, when she was the epitome of the mainstream, was an attempt...

After a strong international festival run in 2007 and 2008, the documentary I Think We're Alone Now is receiving a well-deserved DVD release. The film is available right now in the United Kingdom from Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment. Music Video Distributors will release the film in North America, Japan, Europe and Australia on July 27.
As readers may recall, Sean Donnelly's documentary follows the lives of two avid stalkers of 80's pop sensation Tiffany. Although Tiffany has done much in the last 20 years except appear in Mega-Piranha, the subjects of this utterly captivating film keep the fan flames burning in uncomfortably strange ways. I Think We're Alone Now is highly recommended viewing.

This doc came out of nowhere to floor anyone and everyone that saw it at last year's Ff. Though it was one of the few films we played that took place in reality, it was undeniably more bizarre and discomforting than anything else seen on screen all year. So, in order to further enlighten and terrorize our hometown audiences, we're bringing it back for an Exclusive Engagement At The Ritz, following its Music Monday screening.
Seriously, if you missed this one at the festival, it's your moral imperative to catch it at the theater.
Here's what noted film historian Rodney Perkins has to say about this stunning document of humanity on the ropes:
"Many people are familiar with American pop singer Tiffany, who had a number of hit songs during the 1980s, including "I Think We're Alone Now" and "Could've Been." Less known is the story of two of Tiffany's...

What qualifies a mainstream comedy like The Brothers Bloom to screen at Fantastic Fest, a festival reknowned for its horror, science fiction, fantasy, and other hard-core genre entries? One answer might be: 'Because co-founder Harry Knowles said so,' but even Knowles wondered if the film belonged in the program. The better answer might be: 'Why the heck not?' The best film festivals in the world are programmed by knowledgeable people who are passionate about presenting films they love to audiences who are eager to discover great new work.
