1967, the height of the Red Scare. Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt is embroiled in a power struggle after discovering his spymaster has illegally investigated and exposed Red sympathisers embedded within Holt's administration.
That's the premise for an ambitious new Australian short film set in the period leading up to the Holt's famous disappearance at Victoria's Cheviot Beach.
The Defector is written, directed and produced by Scott Mannion and executive produced by Antonia Barnard, Nick Cole, Greg Dick and Simon de Bruyn, who describes the short as "an Australian spy film made to world class standards."
Mannion came to de Bruyn's attention in his capacity as an acquisitions executive with international sales agent and production company Xyz Films..

A few years ago, Thq's Australian Studio was developing a tie-in game for Joss Whedon's mega-blockbuster, The Avengers. It would've allowed the gamer to play from the first-person perspective of Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor. It was written by five-time Eisner award winning comic book writer, Brian Michael Bendis. In the film, The Avengers fought the Chitauri, but Thq's game would've pitted the super-team against Marvel's extraterrestrial shapeshifters, the Skrulls. Sadly, the game was never finished, and all that remains is concept art and three minutes of gameplay footage. Which you can view here. Below, you will find more concept art from the game created by James Brouwer. Also, James, along with Darren Randall ("Happy Feet 2") and fellow Avengers video game concept artist, Jeremy Love, have launched a new Kickstarter for Teen High Zombie Squard (Click Here). They are hoping backers will fund their campaign so that...

Here is some awesome concept art by Jeremy Love for the cancelled The Avengers video game from Sega. It is a shame that the game ended up getting cancelled, because I love the fact that it featured a badass looking Skrull.
Check out the rest of the art, and let us know if you would have played a game like this:

Several scans of concept art from Thq’s now-canceled video game for Marvel’s The Avengers have been posted on the website of concept artist Jeremy Love. In addition to making us cry a little more that this game was never produced beyond alpha, the concept art shows us some of the stylish costumes and set pieces that were set to appear in the game as well as a mean looking sketch of a Super Skrull.
The first-person shooter was originally being developed by Thq in preparation for The Avengers but was scrapped before the film hit theaters.

In honor of the royal nuptials tomorrow, we thought we would look at some of the best wedding movies in recent years. Although none of these films even come close to the grandeur and regal nature of Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding, it's a great way to get into the mood.
Check out our top 10 wedding movies and let us know: What's your favorite?
Top 10 Wedding Movies:
10. Made of Honor (2008)
Patrick Dempsey plays Tom, the ultimate bachelor. He doesn't want to settle down, that is, until his best friend Hannah gets engaged. Tom realizes he is in love with Hannah (Michelle Monaghan), but is asked to be her maid of honor. Can he win her love before the wedding?
Why we love this one: Everyone knows your not actually supposed to "speak now" during that famous objection line at the wedding, but when someone as cute as Patrick Dempsey wants to steal you away,...
