"Did you... pull out?" Warner Bros Home Entertainment has unveiled the official trailer for a movie titled Snatchers, a horror comedy from the filmmaking duo Stephen Cedars & Benji Kleiman. Some folks may recognize this already, as it's based on the short film and TV series also both titled Snatchers, dealing with the same thing. After status-obsessed teen Sara, played by newcomer Mary Nepi, has sex for the first time, she wakes up the next day nine months pregnant-with an alien. It's a creepy, icky, amusing creature feature pregnancy comedy and it actually lives up to that conceptual potential. Also starring Gabrielle Elyse, J.J. Nolan, Austin Fryberger, Nick Gomez, Rich Fulcher, Amy Landecker, and Ashley Argota. This really, really does look like it might be the best possible version of this pregnancy-as-a-monster metaphor turned into a movie. All the jokes are solid, their friendship works well, might even be better than this looks.

“Clueless” meets “It’s Alive,” among other things, in “Snatchers.” Stephen Cedars and Benji Kleiman’s first feature is a great argument for teenage chastity, in that its high school heroine’s first sexual experience leads overnight to an alien-monster pregnancy and, possibly, the end of the world. See, impulses have consequences!
Moralists may wish that message were delivered a tad more seriously, but there’s a great deal of fun to be had from this high-energy spinoff of an eponymous online series. In a SXSW Midnighters lineup overladen with variable horror comedies, this is at least one genuinely funny entry. It’s got a decent shot at theatrical exposure in addition to bright streaming prospects, all of which will no doubt be boosted by enthusiastic reception on the genre-fest circuit.

High School Musical's Corbin Bleu will guest on The Fosters this coming March, so I guess I owe everyone an apology for trying to shut down that high school. It was a high school devoted solely to singing, dancing, and, to a lesser degree, basketball! How did they even get accreditation? Fortunately for Bleu, he will be appearing in the role of Mercutio in The Fosters' musical-within-a-show Romeo & Juliet. Bleu and fellow guest-star Ashley Argota recently also co-starred in a production of Romeo & Juliet: Love Is a Battlefield produced by Fosters co-creator Bradley Bredeweg. I guess I didn't correctly anticipate the nationwide uptick in high-school-musical-related job opportunities. It was shortsighted, and that is completely on me.

The Storybook Killer horror short tells the story of four friends who reunite looking for answers about the mysterious disappearance of one of their brothers that took place years before at an abandoned fairytale theme park. The four friends end up being killed off one by one over the course of the story.
The short was directed by Andrew Vallentine, and it stars Ricky Dillon, Ashley Argota, Meg DeAngelis, Josh Leyva, and Cody Saintgnue.
This is a fun horror short that I think some of you will enjoy, and the abandoned fairytale theme park is really a nice touch that added some decent production value and an eerie vibe. It was actually shot on location at the Enchanted Forest theme park in Oregon.

Congrats to Tim Curry, who made a rare public appearance Sunday night in Los Angeles to accept an award. It was one of the first times the beloved "Rocky Horror Picture Show" star has been in the public eye since a 2012 stroke left him in a wheelchair.
The 69-year-old star may not be the same energetic force we remember as "sweet transvestite" Frank-n-Furter, but he told Moviefone he's "very lucky" to be honored by his peers. "It feels amazing. I feel very lucky," he said of accepting his Lifetime Achievement Award from the Actors Fund.
He also wished "good luck" to Will Poulter ("We're the Millers"), who's been cast as the new Pennywise the clown in the upcoming remake of Stephen King's "It," a role Curry played to perfection in the 1990 mini-series. "It's a wonderful part," Curry said of Stephen King's unforgettable evil clown, who terrorizes a group of children.

“True Jackson is taped before a live studio audience.”
I hadn’t heard anything like that on Nickelodeon since the before time, in the long, long ago. I’ve gotta admit, when I heard them at the start of my hellacious endeavor I had flashes of Clarissa Explains It All and Kenan & Kel. For a brief moment, I tried to make an effort to view True Jackson, VP from the perspective of a 10-year-old kid, tuning into Nick every morning, afternoon and night like clockwork, hurrying through dinner so I could catch the second half of the Ren & Stimpy I’ve seen thousands of times already. For a brief moment, I was hoping there would be something in True Jackson I could get behind besides it being "Taped Before a Live Studio Audience". It was at the three minute, fifty-eight second mark, when True “hilariously” fell down, for the second time,...

Keke Palmer has been cast as the lead in Nickelodeon's live-action pilot True Fashion.
The tentatively titled project, described as Big meets The Devil Wears Prada, centers on a 15-year-old (Palmer) tapped to head the teen division of a major fashion label. She has a passion for fashion but soon learns that corporate life has the same highs and lows as high school -- complete with cliques and mean girls -- but also comes with such cool perks as designing for up-and-coming rock stars and casting cute models.
The pilot, from creator/executive producer Andy Gordon (Back to You), was picked up in October. It begins shooting this week in Los Angeles, with a cast that also includes Ashley Argota, Danielle Bisutti and Matt Shively and a recurring role featuring Greg Proops ("Whose Line Is It Anyway?").
Palmer won an NAACP Image Award for her role in Akeelah and the Bee. She next appears on the big screen in Dimension's The Longshots, opening in July.
The singer-actress, who also was nominated for a SAG Award for her role in the TNT movie The Wool Cap, released her debut album, So Uncool, last year.
