Heidi Klum‘s fan-fave Golden Buzzer, Lavender Darcangelo, blew the roof off “America’s Got Talent” with her performance of “I Want to Know What Love Is” during the reality TV show’s first live show on Tuesday, August 22. (Read our minute-by-minute recap.) The 27-year-old from Fitchburg, Massachusetts was born blind and autistic, but she doesn’t let that stop her from living her dream of becoming a world-famous singer. Watch the live “AGT” video above.
“I’m all about breaking boundaries,” Lavender declared in her pre-taped interview. The judges had nothing but praises for her live rendition of the Foreigner classic, with Heidi announcing, “I am so proud of you … I hope that everyone is going to vote for you so that we can go to the next round together.” Simon Cowell chimed in, “It’s just the most amazing feeling when a contestant who everyone loves nails it, and...

The confetti. The tears. The hugs. Admit it: you just can’t get enough of those emotional Golden Buzzer moments on “America’s Got Talent” … and neither can we. This twist was first introduced on the American version of the worldwide talent competition in Season 10, and it’s been an integral part of NBC’s reality TV show ever since.
Throughout the auditions, the four “AGT” judges (and the host as of Season 11) get to press the Golden Buzzer for a single act that moves them emotionally, which sends the performer straight through to the live shows. During the now-defunct Judge Cuts round, guest panelists are allowed to push the button as well for their favorite act. At the start of Season 18, Simon Cowell announced that there’d be a new audience-voted buzzer for an act that wows the crowd. Want a refresher on all of the “America’s Got Talent” Golden Buzzers through the years?...

One of the most talked-about acts to come out of this year’s “America’s Got Talent” auditions is Putri Ariani, thanks in no small part to Simon Cowell blessing her with his Season 18 Golden Buzzer. All these months later, Simon is reflecting on the 17-year-old blind singer/songwriter’s audition at the piano and he’s expecting big things for her in this competition. “I would be amazed if she’s not either the winner or the runner-up. I mean, that’s who I put my money on,” he reveals in the NBC video above.
Putri came all the way from Indonesia to show the world her talent, and she performed two songs on the big stage: “Loneliness” and “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word.” “There was something about her, even before she started to sing,” Simon now declares. “I just — I had a feeling. And I’ve done this a long time.

Heading into Monday’s season finale of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars,” you would have been gravely mistaken if you thought Kodi Lee had this thing in the bag. In fact, the “AGT” superfans who voted for the winner didn’t even rank the fan-favorite singer, who was born blind and autistic, in their Top 5. When host Terry Crews announced the results during the February 27 finale, it was as if the air was let out of the room. The audience gasped in shock while judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel kindly stood up and applauded his exit.
In case you missed the episode, the Top 5 acts, according to the superfans, were aerialist Aidan Bryant (the winner), saxophonist Avery Dixon (the runner-up), light-up dance group Light Balance Kids (third place) ventriloquist Ana-Maria Mǎrgean (fourth place) and magician Aidan McCann (fifth place).

Earlier this week, Gold Derby conducted a poll asking viewers of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” to name which of the 11 finalists they’re rooting for to win, and the results are not even close. In fact, an overwhelming 44 of respondents voted for Kodi Lee, the inspirational singer who was born blind and autistic, as their favorite. He recently sang “Biblical” on the big stage (watch above), and then told the “AGT” superfans, “Help me change the world.” Now it seems like a realistic possibility the fans will come through for him.
Kodi originally competed on Season 14 of the American version of the “Got Talent” franchise. His song list that year included “A Song For You,” “Bridge over Troubled Water,” “You Are the Reason” and “Lost Without You.” He’s one of just four “AGT” winners to return for “All-Stars,” but the other three were eliminated in the preliminary rounds: ventriloquist Terry Fator,...

“America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” continued Monday, February 6 with the sixth and final set of 10 performances from some of the most beloved acts in “Got Talent” history. In previous installments, two acts advanced to The Finals per episode, but this week there was only one spot up for grabs. That decision came down to the superfans who chose singer Kodi Lee as the 11th all-star finalist.
Kodi’s selection meant that the nine other performers were eliminated from the competition. In a recent poll, we asked “Who was wrongfully eliminated on February 6?” and though “AGT” fans were split between two top choices, spoken word poet Brandon Leake came out on top as the artist most deserving of a spot in The Finals with 26 of the vote. Just behind him was comedian Josh Blue with 25 and singer Daneliya Tuleshova next with 18.

“America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” aired its sixth episode Monday night with 10 more acts performing for a coveted spot in The Finals. The new spin-off series features former “Got Talent” contestants from America and beyond, competing in a seven-week showdown to determine which ultimate all-star will claim the title of “Got Talent World Champion.” Longtime series judges Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum return to the judges’ panel with Terry Crews on stage for hosting duties.
In the first of these first rounds, only two acts from each episode will advance to The Finals. One will be hand-selected by one of the judges via the Golden Buzzer and the other is voted through by a collection of superfans from across the country. With no Golden Buzzers left in this episode, that left one spot in the finale, which went to Kodi Lee. Yes, you read that correctly, only one act advanced.

One of the most popular “America’s Got Talent” winners of all time, Kodi Lee, now has a chance of taking home a second trophy, and it’s all thanks to the superfans. Monday night on “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars,” the singing superstar (who was born blind and autistic), took the stage and belted out the song “Biblical.” After his performance, he got a chance to speak directly to the superfans and he told them, “Help me change the world.” Well, that’s exactly what they did.
Kodi earned the most votes from the superfans, so he immediately advanced to the finale. The runner-up was spoken word artist Brandon Leake, while the third place vote-getter was comedian Josh Blue — both were eliminated. The sixth episode of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” is scheduled for Monday, February 6 on NBC, with the last group of 10 acts (out of 60 total acts) taking the stage to try to earn their spot in the Finals. One such act will be Sethward, a novelty comedian who always dresses up in extravagant animal costumes. While “AGT” judges Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum love Sethward’s originality, Simon Cowell is definitively not a fan. In other words, get ready for classic grumpy Simon to make an appearance.
“Number one, I don’t like him,” the British judge recently declared in a promo video. “Secondly, he’s not a fan favorite.” Hmm, where do You stand on the Sethward debate, “AGT” fans? Let us know down in the comments section.

“America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” continued Monday, January 30 with the fifth set of 10 performances from some of the most beloved acts in “Got Talent” history. Two more acts advanced to The Finals based on those initial performances: Tom Ball received the Group Golden Buzzer and Ana-Maria Mărgean was voted through by a secret group of superfans. They join Aidan McCann and Power Duo from January 23, Mike E. Winfield and Avery Dixon from the January 16 installment, Detroit Youth Choir and Aidan Bryant from the January 9 episode, and Light Balance Kids and Bello Sisters from the January 2 premiere. Monday’s results left eight all-star acts on the cutting room floor without a chance to be named “Got Talent World Champion.”

As we near the conclusion of the first phase of the “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” competition, there’s one question on our mind: What do the superfans have against singers? Out of the 40 acts to perform in the first round so far, a quarter of them can be considered vocal talents, but only chorale group Detroit Youth Choir has advanced, and that was thanks to a Golden Buzzer from Terry Crews. The nine other singers failed to earn enough votes from the superfans and were eliminated, but why?
Among the singing acts eliminated so far are former Golden Buzzer acts Cristina Rae and Sara James as well as champions of “Canada’s Got Talent” and “Dominica’s Got Talent” Jeanick Fournier and Keren Montero. Both Jeanick and Keren placed within the top three with the superfans on their respective episodes, as did Caly Bevier and Ndlovu Youth Choir. None of...

Over the first two weeks of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars,” the superfans had the option of voting for people who’d already won various “Got Talent” shows around the world, or branching out and anointing other talented acts. So far, they’ve chosen to snub former winners. Champions like Terry Fator (“AGT” Season 2) and Dustin Tavella (“AGT” Season 16) failed to earn enough votes from the superans to advance to the Finals, so they were eliminated from the competition (barring any future wild card save). What does this mean for upcoming fan-fave contestants like Kodi Lee and Brandon Leake, who won their original “AGT” seasons?
In Week 1 (which aired January 2), the two winners competing were singer Jeanick Fournier from “Canada’s Got Talent” Season 2 and ventriloquist Terry Fator from “America’s Got Talent” Season 2. After light-up dance group Light Balance Kids earned Howie Mandel‘s Golden Buzzer, the superfans voted for their Top 3 acts of the night.

Terry Fator is one of the most successful winners ever of “America’s Got Talent” turning his season 2 victory back in 2007 into a long-running gig in Las Vegas. That’s what makes his ouster on Monday’s premiere of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” so shocking.
After Howie Mandel used up his Golden Buzzer on Light Balance Kids (a top 10 act from season 14), Terry needed to win over the superfans to move on in the competition. But they opted for balancing act Bello Sisters (a top 10 act from season 15) instead.
What went wrong for Terry? Take a look at his performance in the video above and sound off in the comments section below. As we observed in our live blog of “AGT: All-Stars” episode 1, Simon Cowell told Terry that he’s inspired more variety acts to compete than anyone else and dubbed him “the best of the best.”

Simon Cowell made a bold confession during the premiere episode of “America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” when he tells superstar ventriloquist Terry Fator that the reality TV show only happened because he signed on. “I’m gonna let you in to a little secret,” the British judge explains. “When we decided to make ‘All-Stars,’ we had one condition: We’re only gonna do it if you competed. Seriously. Because we just thought, if you’re gonna say we’ve got the best of the best, then you’ve gotta get the best of the best. And I have so much respect for you and so much gratitude.”

NBC has confirmed to Gold Derby that the “America’s Got Talent” 2022 live shows will begin Tuesday, August 9, with the first results show taking place Wednesday, August 10. Unlike years past when the live shows were held at the Dolby Theatre, the Season 17 contests will take place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, which is where all of the auditions are filmed.
The four “AGT” judges and the host (Terry Crews) have already sent six acts straight through to the live shows when they pressed their Golden Buzzers during the auditions. Those talented acts will be joined by dozens more once the panelists narrow down the field of contenders in the Judge Cuts round.

The 17th season of “America’s Got Talent” is in full swing, with five audition episodes having aired since May 31. Instead of moving right on to the sixth set of hopefuls, the AGT team paused on July 5 to give viewers a look back at some of the best tryouts from the last six years. During the first ever Golden Buzzer special, entitled “Simon’s Favorite Golden Buzzers,” judge Simon Cowell sat down with host Terry Crews to present a two-hour countdown of his personal picks for the 15 greatest moments involving the coveted honor.
The Golden Buzzer was first incorporated into AGT’s ninth season, which aired in 2014. The show’s current format allows it to be used only five times per season (once by the host and once each by the four judges) to lock in quarterfinal placements for particularly outstanding auditioners. 12 of the 59 acts who have earned the honor have...

On May 31st, “America’s Got Talent” returned with a spectacular two-hour premiere episode of its 17th season. But who were the best acts from the season opener? And did any move forward that shouldn’t have? Below we rank the 10 acts who advanced from worst to best.

America’s Got Talent made its first round of Season 16 live cuts on Wednesday, sending a handful of hopeful acts packing.

Highlights included singer Peter Rosalita stunning viewers with a powerful rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing,” comedian Kabir Singh sharing embarrassing texts from his mom, and escape artist Matt Johnson narrowly cheating death (again) by barely avoiding a chainsaw to the face.

The Season 16 premiere of summer’s biggest show, “America’s Got Talent,” kicked off Tuesday night with what judge Howie Mandel called the “best animal act” he’d ever seen. The Canine Stars are a comedy dog act that travels the country promoting pet adoptions. For their initial audition, they impersonated the five “AGT” personalities while “acts” appeared before them. The dog judges, with quirky names such as Bow Wowie Mandel and Simon Howl, also had red X’s and a golden buzzer at their disposal they could press depending on what they thought. The overall performance ended with a tiny dog giving her owner CPR after she received a golden buzzer. Watch the video above and read the judges’ comments below.

Update: The canceled commemoration of the 1921 Tulsa, Oklahoma Black Wall Street Massacre boiled down to money demands by the living survivors, according to NBC News.
A prior agreement between the Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission and the three living survivors of the event was upended at the last minute. Legal representatives for the survivors previously agreed that they would appear at the “Remember and Rise” event in return for $100,000 each and a $2 million seed gift to a reparations coalition fund, according to state Sen. The parties agreed to those terms, he said.
But at the last minute, the demands changed. Lawyers for the survivors asked for $1 million for each and $50 million for the fund, said Matthews.
