Roku is continuing its lineup of Spanish-language originals with five new series from creators such as Juanpa Zurita and Jaime Camil. But that’s not all. The streaming player-turned-content hub also announced the premiere date for Season 3 of “Un Millón de Gracias” from Jennifer Lopez. Previously titled “Thanks a Million,” this year will mark the series’ first Spanish-language season as a new batch of celebrities give back to the people who have influenced them the most.
Each episode of “Un Millón de Gracias” follows a different celebrity who has been asked to give away $100,000 to someone who has inspired them by being a hero in their community. Lopez brings back Thanks a Million as Un Millón de Gracias for a third season and shot entirely in Spanish featuring 10 celebrities that will give away $100,000 to someone that has inspired them. Discovery Channel will premiere The Making Of Mandela, a documentary celebrating the life of South African leader Nelson Mandela, on Sunday — coinciding with its premiere on Discovery Channel South Africa and two days after its premiere on Discovery Channel UK tonight. The Making Of Mandela, which will also roll out across 224 territories beginning tomorrow, is produced for Discovery Channel by Dni and Darlow Smithson Productions, with Sarah T. Davies serving as executive producer for Dni, and Iain Riddick for Darlow Smithson. But the cable network said the film would premiere without credits “as a mark of respect for Mandela.” Mandela died yesterday at age 95. The film premieres Sunday at 12 Pm Et/Pt. Related: Nelson Mandela’s Death: Hollywood Reacts Narrated by actor David Harewood (Homeland), the film looks at Mandela from his early days as a resistance fighter though his tenure as South Africa’s first freely elected president, and beyond.

Discovery and former Man Vs. Wild host Bear Grylls parted ways in 2012 over a programming disagreement, but bygones would appear to be bygones. Discovery Networks International says the survival expert will return to the overseas fold with new series, Bear Grylls: Ultimate Survivors. The six-part hourlong show will air on the Discovery Channel in 217 international markets across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Ultimate Survivors sees Grylls chronicle incredible stories of ordinary people stranded in dire situations. He’ll then pit himself against the same dangers and scenarios. Grylls said he was “super excited to be working with Discovery again” and Discovery returned the compliment: “We are thrilled to welcome Bear back to the Discovery fold,” said Dni chief content officer and Evp Luis Silberwasser. The show is produced for Dni by Discovery’s betty TV. Sarah Davies is executive producer for Dni, and Neil Smith exec produces for betty.
