Most Game of Thrones fans can think of a few things they’d change about the acclaimed HBO series (likely related to the final season), and even showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have one thing they wish they’d done differently… and it’s not at all what you’d expect.
David Benioff and Dan Weiss have largely avoided reflecting on Game of Thrones but when THR asked them if there was anything they would want to change about the series… they had an answer. The element they’d change had to do with Mord the Jailer (Ciaran Bermingham), the guard who tormented Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) in the Sky Cells at the Eyrie before accepting a bribe to help him escape. Turns out that the pair wish they’d brought Mord back into the story.

There is one thing the Game of Thrones showrunners admit they wish they’d done differently.
David Benioff and Dan Weiss sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss their upcoming Netflix sci-fi drama 3 Body Problem for a recent cover story. While that article included the duo’s reaction to the season eight backlash and a couple other bits of Thrones news, we also pressed the Emmy-winning writer producers on whether there was anything they would admit to wishing they could change about the show.
As the cover story notes, in general, they staunchly avoid reflecting on the series — they feel it wouldn’t benefit themselves, HBO or the thousands of people who worked on Thrones to criticize anything about it.
But, they gave up something small that wasn’t included in the cover story — and it’s almost certainly nothing you’re expecting.

Game of Thrones’s second season, based off of George R.R. Martin’s novel A Clash of Kings, is blissfully due to descend on us in just a few weeks’ time. And though anticipation for the show’s return couldn’t be higher, there seems to be a growing undercurrent of tension or concern among both the fan and journalistic communities. Showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have changed the name of Asha Greyjoy, Theon’s sister back on the Iron Islands, to Yara? The way-cool storyline the crippled Bran Stark has back at Winterfell might be cut and moved to the third season? Daenerys Targaryen’s minimal presence in the novel might be dramatically expanded – with action scenes?
To discuss all this – plus what absolutely must change in order to have the upcoming season be as successful as the first – Marc N. Kleinhenz has gathered several of the biggest...

HBO has released the first 15 minutes of their sure-to-be controversial new show “Game of Thrones”, based on the series of fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin. There isn’t any of the sex and uber violence that the show is expected to field in these first 15 minutes, but there is plenty of other stuff to get you excited about seeing the boys and girls of Westeros come to life on the small screen. The show is boasting an estimated $50 million dollar budget, which translates to about $5 million an episode for the 10-episode first season. Yeah, so, nothing cheap here, folks, and I think you can tell from the first 15 minutes shown below. The stellar cast includes Harry Lloyd, Mark Addy, Alfie Allen, Sean Bean, Ciaran Bermingham, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Peter Dinklage, Roy Dotrice, Michelle Fairley, Jack Gleeson, Iain Glen, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Finn Jones, Richard Madde, Rory McCann,...
