- SpouseSamuel Cronwright(1894 - December 11, 1920) (her death, 1 child)
- She despised Cecil Rhodes--whose policies helped the British to colonize Africa--because she detested colonialism and the colonial mentality. She attacked him fiercely in her novel "Trooper Peter Halket". Ironically, Rhodes' successor in the position of Cape Colony, as South Africa was known, was her brother William P. Schreiner.
