Online Concert Record
A weekend concert by Hong Kong acting and singing superstar Andy Lau Tak-wah attracted a record-breaking 350 million viewers on Douyin, the mainland Chinese sister company of TikTok. The concert ran for two hours and attracted 100 million viewers in the first 30 minutes, with tens of millions more joining by the end. The figures beat Lau’s own previous record on the platform, which he set in July last year at a concert to celebrate his 40 years in the business. The South China Morning Post said the record numbers were swelled by a recent wave of nostalgia for Canto-pop or Cantonese-language contemporary music, though the paper also noted that Lau also performed a couple of Mandarin-language classics.
Arrested Executives
Tokyo prosecutors Tuesday arrested two executives of publisher and film production giant Kadokawa on suspicion of funneling bribes totaling to Takahashi Haruyuki, the former director of the Organizing Committee for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.

Two Very Different Movies Look to Divide Up the Weekend Box Office Business
With Disney’s Beauty and the Beast continuing to dominate at the box office with $90 million this past weekend, and Saban’s Power Rangers (Lionsgate) also doing exceedingly well with $40 million in second place, you wouldn’t think anyone would try to release a movie that might get overshadowed by those two blockbusters.

Choosing to learn and do all her stunts herself without a body double, the Running Shaadi actress was trained by one of the renowned martial arts expert and Hollywood stunt director, Cyril Raffaelli.
Taapsee shared, “I have always been a hyper active kid who used to love outdoor sports. Unfortunately this made suffer a lot of bruises and wounds quite frequently. Pandey, who serves as the producer on the spin-off of the 2015 film, says the team felt that it was important for them to tell the story of Shabana. “I remember sharing this idea of a spin-off with the principal crew and cast and the one thing that struck me was that everyone was extremely positive and inquisitive about what all could be done with it. Each one of us felt that this was needed to be told. Shivam’s (director Shivam Nair) take on this story is a treat for the audience that liked Baby,” Neeraj said in a statement.

There are a couple of rumors surrounding Akshay Kumar going around the town. One, that he would also be making an appearance in Naam Shabana, prequel to Baby. Two, he is playing five characters in director Omung Kumar's next, Five. Both rumors are, well, just rumors. "Let's talk about Naam Shabana first," informs our source, "Akshay is definitely not playing a lead in the film. As a matter of fact, he won't be seen in a special appearance either. His hands are tied by around 4-5 films already where he is in the lead role. Moreover, the film doesn't require his presence. Yes, he is producing the film but that's about it." Considering the fact that a large audience base may expect him to make some kind of token on-screen contribution to Naam Shabana, he may just about step in for a cameo in this film which is being directed by Shivam Nair.

Maharathi may have flopped but Paresh Rawal has always stood by the film's director Shivam Nair whom he believes has a 'modern approach towards story telling'."Though his Ahista Ahista hadn't done well, all those who watched the film had liked it. I too had seen the film along with some of my associates and we liked the way Shivam had treat the subject. Click above for more movie stills It's difficult to please someone like Paresh Rawal. The actor has worked with some of the biggest names in the business and continues to call the shots even today. Incidentally, the versatile actor has been labelled a comedian thanks to the number of comedies he has acted in since the past few years. Doesn't he get tired of comedy? "I get put off by comic roles that don't make sense. Where the director has no control over the script. He ruins the subject due to his inability," Paresh admits frankly. The actor has enacted three different roles in Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and I have to admit, Paresh's [and Abhay's too] performance bowled me over completely. "Dibakar [Banerjee; the director] deserves the credit. Usme dum hain," Paresh says with utmost modesty. Next on the cards is Maharathi, a play Paresh had produced and directed in the 1980s. Why didn't he direct its cinematic version?...
