Claudia Myers will direct from her original screenplay about a young woman who has literally become invisible after her mother’s death and makes a living as a paparazzi photographer.
Years later she meets a disgraced former Mixed Martial Arts champion who is the one person who can see her and whose demise was brought about by one of her photographs.
Minka Kelly and Jim Gaffigan round out the key cast on Shadow Girl, which Hipzee’s Tara Sickmeier and Rob Baunoch III will produce with Boundary Stone’s Mark Schacknies and Khris Baxter.

Myriad Pictures will commence international sales at the Efm in Berlin next month on Vancouver-based Brightlight Pictures satirical murder mystery.
Evan Morgan will direct from his screenplay about a vilified, down-at-heel former American child detective who gets a shot at his first ‘adult’ case. Nelisse rose to prominence for her role in The Book Thief.
Production on The Kid Detective is anticipated to begin early in the year. Myriad, Brightlight and UTA Independent Film Group jointly arranged financing. Myriad represents international sales and handles the Us with UTA Independent Film Group.

Rights have gone in the UK (Signature Entertainment), Italy (Minerva), Middle East (Eagle Films) and former Yugoslavia (Dexin Films), with talks are ongoing for France. Pacific Northwest Pictures holds all Canadian rights.
Jason Bourque co-wrote and is due to start shooting in India this week on the story of a high-level private contractor who unbeknownst to his family flies covert drone missions and is confronted at home by a businessman who believe he is behind a strike that killed his family. Patrick Sabongui also stars.

Karen Leigh Hopkins’ film recently wrapped production in Ohio and centres on an elementary school teacher who moonlights as a vigilante.
Holmes stars alongside James Badge Dale, whose credits include Toronto entry Parkland, Iron Man 3 and Stretch.
Crazy Heart producers Rob Carliner and Eric Brenner are producing. Rob Carliner Productions and Wiretap Films are the production entities and Mark Benton Johnson, Hopkins and Holmes serve as executive producers.

Kevin Forester has been promoted to CFO at Myriad Pictures. He joined Myriad in 2006 and had held the post of VP, finance and controller.
Forester will continue to manage corporate finance and strategic planning, as well as oversee all financial functions for the company, including corporate and project financial analysis, preparation and implementation of annual budgets, contract negotiations, day-to-day accounting practices, collections, information technology, and human resources.
Before joining Myriad, Forester worked for 11 years in film financing and accounting at The Bubble Factory, where he rose to the position of vp, finance and operations.
