- He and his former wife, Margarita Cordova owned and operated the El Cid flamenco club in Los Angeles for nearly two decades.
- Clark Allen was shot in a robbery attempt at his nightclub the "El Cid" in 1972. He nearly died from the wound. His recovery, which took nearly a year, surprised even his doctors.
