- Robert Smart, the son of Australian filmmaker Ralph Smart and English continuity person Meg Smart, was born in England. When the Smarts travelled to Australia to make films, Robert often accompanied them. As a child Robert was a stand-in for Nick Yardley in a scene in "Bush Christmas" (1947) where the Yardley character, Snow, perches precariously on a rocky outcrop on the Blue Mountains to signal to the other children the position of the horse thieves.
When he was 17 he concocted a storyline about smuggling that was the basis of the Brian Clemens script of "The Big Plot", the final episode of "The Invisible Man", a series produced by his father.
After the death of Meg in the 1970s, Robert and his family accompanied his father to Australia where they settled in Bowen, North Queensland. Robert still lives in Bowen today where he works as a computer programmer and repairer.- IMDb Mini Biography By: David Anthony
