The seventh annual Brooklyn Horror Film Festival is coming soon, and it runs from October 13-20 with screenings held at Nitehawk Cinema Williamsburg and Williamsburg Cinemas. The festival has announced its first wave of titles for 2022, and we've got the complete lineup presented for the first time by your favorite home for horror, Shudder.
Opening the festival is Irish filmmaker Lorcan Finnegan's film "Nocebo" starring Eva Green, his highly anticipated follow-up after the Imogen Poots and Jesse Eisenberg film "Vivarium." Finnegan is a Bhff alumni after his debut feature "Without Name" swept the 2016 festival, nabbing the awards for Best Feature, Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing.

Exclusive: Future Of Film Is Female (The Fofif), the NYC based non-profit dedicated to amplifying the work of all women and non-binary filmmakers, announced its Fall 2021 Short Film Fund recipients. Founded in 2018, The Fofif awards grants three times a year with partner companies, Heard City and Nice Shoes, to offer post-production grants.
“We are incredibly grateful to announce our support of the six filmmakers whose upcoming projects were selected in our Fall 2021 Short Film Fund cycle,” said The Fofif Founder Caryn Coleman. “Fitting with our mission to help get diverse stories out into the world, these brilliant projects uniquely explore identity, work rivalry, and the life of pioneering filmmaker Barbara Hammer.”

Brooklyn’s Bushwick Film Festival has set the lineup for its hybrid 14th edition, which will return to live screenings and special events from October 20-24, showcasing the digital artworks known as NFTs (non-fungible tokens) for the first time in its history.

Jenn Wexler and Ashlee Blackwell were recently featured as special guests on our Corpse Club Women in Horror Month episodes, and we're thrilled to announce that both of them will be on a "Women & Horror" panel at New York City's Athena Film Festival this March!
On Saturday, March 2nd, at 7:00pm, The Ranger filmmaker Jenn Wexler and Horror Noire co-writer/producer (and founder of Graveyard Shift Sisters) Ashlee Blackwell will join actress Nancy Stephens and writer/director Christina Raia for a "Women & Horror" panel moderated by Caryn Coleman, the Director of Programming/Special Projects at Nitehawk Cinema.
