- Graduated from Covert High School in 1972.
- Graduated from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Broadcasting.
- Began her career in radio as a news anchor and programming assistant in Benton Harbor, Michigan and later landed a position at WJR Radio in Detroit, where she worked as Commercial Continuity/Broadcast Law Director and primary female production voice-over talent.
- Began singing and performing in school plays and choirs at the early age of six.
- Is heralded as the "Great Voices of the Great Lakes", as well as a recipient of the "Spirit of Detroit" award and PM Magazine winner for "Best Jingle".
