Gravitas Ventures, an Anthem Sports & Entertainment company, has acquired the U.S. rights to Connie Cocchia’s coming-of-age drama “When Time Got Louder.” The film will be released on Nov. 17 in select theaters and on VOD.
“’When Time Got Louder’ is a powerful story filled with emotion. It’s a great addition to the coming-of-age genre, and we can’t be more happy to bring it to audiences,” stated Cameron Moore, senior director of theatrical distribution, who negotiated the deal on behalf of Gravitas.
Willow Shields (“The Hunger Games” franchise) stars as Abbie, who is departing for college and leaving her parents (Elizabeth Mitchell and Lochlyn Munro) and brother (Jonathan Simao), who has autism and is non-verbal. As the film’s synopsis explains, “while exploring her independence and sexuality, Abbie finds herself torn between her new life and her love for her brother.” Ava Capri and Piper Curda also star in the film,...

Shia Labeouf is washing away his sins in the biopic of real-life monk Padre Pio.
The eponymous film, directed by Abel Ferrara, will be distributed by Gravitas Ventures. “Padre Pio” stars Labeouf as the Italian monk who rose to fame in Catholicism during the two world wars. Padre Pio, born Francesco Forgione, exhibited stigmata, or Christ-like crucifixion wounds. Padre Pio died in 1968 at the age of 81; he was later beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1999 and canonized in 2002.
The film is co-written by Ferrara and Maurizio Braucci. “He’s an iconic figure,” Ferrara told Variety of Padre Pio’s legacy. “He’s on the back of every truck. He’s the saint of every drug dealer in Naples. Pio is like the alternative Jesus, in a way.”
After connecting with Labeouf about the role, Ferrara said the “Transformers” alum was “driving to a monastery in California” moments later...

For Maestro Jason Ikeem Rodgers, the founder and musical director of Orchestra Noir in Atlanta, collaborating with Rick Ross for Red Bull’s global Symphonic series seemed like destiny. The project pairs contemporary musicians with classically trained orchestras, and Rodgers says he grew up on the rapper. When he was younger, he remembers spending two years driving around his native Philadelphia with a broken CD player that looped three songs. One was Ross’s 2013 Jay-Z collaboration “Devil is a Lie.”

EastEnders stars Danny Dyer and Maddy Hill were among the major soap winners at the 20th National Television Awards.
The BBC One soap preceded its upcoming anniversary week by beating Hollyoaks, Coronation Street and Emmerdale to Best Serial Drama.
Dyer collected the Serial Drama Performance prize in a category that pitted him against EastEnders co-star Kellie Bright, among others.
"I'll have [the award] Monday and Wednesday, you'll have it Tuesday and Thursday. I'll have it weekends," he joked to Bright in his acceptance speech.
He continued: "I want to thank my kids… Without them, I'd be a tenth of the man I am today. And that ain't much, I'll tell you!"
Bright previously denied any rivalry between herself and Dyer over the award, explaining that she was simply pleased that both were nominated.

'Hollyoaks' actor Cameron Moore finds it hard not to take abuse about his character personally. The actor, who plays Cameron Campbell in the Channel 4 soap, admitted it's sometimes difficult playing someone with the same first name as him as it's harder to separate negative comments about his character from comments about him. Speaking exclusively to Bang Showbiz, he shared: ''Yeah that is one thing I would possibly change. When you get a bit of abuse it's hard not to take it as personally when people are actually calling you Cameron.'' The soap star claimed he had people shout insults at him in...
