The Center for Investigative Reporting and the Bay Area News Project, which operates the Bay Citizen, announced Tuesday that they are merging operations. Jonathan Weber, who resigned Thursday as editor-in-chief of the non-profit publication The Bay Citizen, has been named Reuters’ West Coast Bureau Chief. Weber will be based out of San Francisco and focus his coverage on technology, the entertainment industry and the economic-political news of the region.
