[Editor’s note: The following contains mild spoilers for Curb Your Enthusiasm, Season 12 Episode 9, “Ken/Kendra.”]
Bruce Springsteen delivered a hilarious turn as himself on the latest episode of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm on Sunday night (March 31st), butting heads with the ever-cranky Larry David.
Without giving away all the details, Larry finds out that the rock icon wants to meet him in admiration of his “activism” in Atlanta. The Boss then shows up for breakfast with Larry and his manager Jeff Greene (Jeff Garland), during which the conversation centers around Larry’s awkward experience with a masseuse. Then it gets even more uncomfortable, as Springsteen’s manager Ken (Ian Harvie) recalls a sexually explicit past with Larry, back when Ken was Kendra — leading Larry to cringe and squirm.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of the funniest shows on TV!
Sadly, Larry David confirmed that the long-running HBO television series would be coming to an end with Season 12, which is about to air its finale on April 7.
The sitcom has been airing since October 15, 2000, created by Larry David, who stars as a fictionalized version of himself. It follows his life as a semi-retired TV writer and producer and features stars like Cheryl Hines as his wife Cheryl, Jeff Garlin as his manager and best friend Jeff Greene, Susie Essman as Jeff’s wife Susie, and J. B. Smoove as Larry’s house mate Leon Black.
We’ve looked through all of the Rotten Tomatoes audience scores for every season, and ranked the whole series from lowest to highest ratings. Two seasons are nearly perfect, with a 97% rating!

[This story contains spoilers from season 12, episode eight of Curb Your Enthusiasm, “The Colostomy Bag.”]
Conan O’Brien made his long-awaited cameo on the latest episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. The talk show host — who is a close friend to creator-star Larry David in real life — appeared on the HBO comedy as a high-profile neighbor, someone TV Larry (played by the real David) felt he needed “clearance” in order to approach.
For the final season’s eighth episode bit, Larry sought out his friend Richard Lewis (who also played a version of himself on the series) to help him get permission to approach the comedian but, due to the episode’s chain of events, clearance doesn’t come in time when Larry ends up needing a big favor.
So Larry arrives, unannounced, at O’Brien’s home, begging for “emergency clearance” because his car died (Larry angered a valet, who unplugged his electric car) and he’s afraid that Susie Greene...

Life imitated art this week in the world of Curb Your Enthusiasm when a real-life Hollywood billboard ended up vandalized, just like the plot of last week’s episode.
As viewers will recall, the sixth episode in the final season of Larry David’s HBO comedy saw Susie Greene (played by Susie Essman) unveiling her new business venture, Catch as Caftan, which she was promoting on a billboard on Santa Monica Boulevard. During the episode, the billboard gets graffitied — with two, large penises cleverly located — and the updated work of art ends up sending sales through the roof. During last week’s chat with The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Jeff Schaffer revealed the marketing stunt and had dared adoring Curb artists to mimic the show’s plot.

One of the more fascinating aspects of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is just how much of its recurring cast is playing themselves. Ted Danson plays Ted Danson, Cheryl Hines plays Cheryl Hines. Even when the actors are playing completely fictional characters, they still often keep the same name: Jeff Garlin plays Jeff Greene, for instance, just as Susie Essman plays Susie Greene. The result is a strange blend of fiction and reality. Logically, we know that Lin Manuel-Miranda is not actually a petty guy who gets in literal duels like his "Hamilton" main character, but a lot of the humor in his storyline is based in the idea that this is indeed what he's like in real life.
For Larry David, he's often remarked that this approach gives him a strange kind of freedom; he can do all the petty things he wants to do in real life, but now the...

Richard Lewis, the master of self-deprecating comedy who whined his way to stardom with stand-up TV specials, a sold-out concert at Carnegie Hall and turns on Anything but Love and Curb Your Enthusiasm, has died. He was 76.
Lewis died peacefully Tuesday night at his home in Los Angeles after suffering a heart attack, his publicist told The Hollywood Reporter. The actor and comic revealed in April that he had been living with Parkinson’s disease and was retiring from stand-up.
“For the last three-and-a-half years, I’ve had sort of a rocky time,” he said on social media when sharing his health woes publicly after wrapping Curb‘s 12th season, which would eventually be announced as the last for the Larry David HBO comedy. Lewis had stepped away in 2021, appearing on only one season 11 episode, and returned for the now-airing final season.

Larry David has returned to bless us with his final gripes.
HBO has released the trailer for the 12th and final season of its Emmy-winning comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The 10-episode final season continues to see David as an over-the-top version of himself navigating his social and professional life in Hollywood. The show has spanned nearly 25 years given its irregular production schedule, which was largely dependent on when David felt ready and inspired to make another season. It’s also HBO’s longest-running series.
In December, when David confirmed the new season would be its last, he released this statement: “As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be — the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character. And so ‘Larry David,...

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" might be centered around Larry David, who plays a fictional version of himself, but arguably the best part of the show is the rotating cast of eccentric characters that flow in and out of Larry's life. Everyone on the show plays some heightened version of their real-life selves, including Larry's "manager," Jeff Greene, portrayed by the irreverent Jeff Garlin. Unlike many of the other characters in Larry's charmed life, Garlin is a consistent staple throughout every season of the show and often acts as a sounding board for some of his crazier ideas. Believe it or not, the original idea for the show did not include Garlin, and adding him to the main cast was a last-minute decision just before the show started filming.
However, Garlin was attached to the series in a creative capacity from the very beginning. In fact, making a meta HBO series was...

Who knew? Lisa Ann Walter who brought the hilarious Sicilian-loving teacher Melissa Schemmenti to life on Abbott Elementary almost played the raunchy Susie Greene on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Walter recently spilled the tea to Showbiz Cheat Sheet during an interview about her partnership with Fiber One. Walter actually played a snarky nurse who puts Larry David in his place in a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode. But she dished that she was considered for the role of Susie.

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" is one of the funniest television shows, and anyone with a pulse should watch it. The HBO comedy series follows Larry David portraying a semi-fictionalized version of himself living a wealthy yet mundane life after the success of NBC's "Seinfeld" -- a show the real-life Larry David created. The fictional series follows those who have to deal with Larry's habit of making a fuss out of everything -- from minor annoyances to everyday social interactions. Its main cast includes Larry's fictional wife, Cheryl David (Cheryl Hines), his best friend, Jeff Greene (Jeff Garlin), and Jeff's wife, Susie (Susie Essman). Although the show's premise sounds simple, it's continued to be a hit with fans, and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" received a season 12 renewal in April 2022.

Jeff Garlin — who walked away from his starring role on “The Goldbergs,” after an Hr investigation into his on-set behavior — joked about being in trouble at the ABC sitcom at a recent standup show in Los Angeles, Variety can reveal.
Performing to a jam-packed crowd at Hollywood Improv on Nov. 24, the day before Thanksgiving, Garlin’s standup act revolved largely around how much he hated “The Goldbergs.” He told the audience repeatedly that he despised the show, did not want to talk about the show (though he kept talking about the show) and was only doing the show for the paycheck. He said things have gotten too politically correct for comics, and he was fed up that he was currently in hot water at ABC for commentary he was making on-set, including using the word “vagina,” which he told the audience in a tongue-in-cheek, yet serious, manner.

On Oct. 15, 2000 HBO’s landmark comedy series “Curb Your Enthusiasm” debuted, introducing the world to the idiosyncrasies of the genius comedic mind of “Seinfeld” co-creator Larry David. Over the series’ 10 seasons and 100 episodes, David has played a hilariously exaggerated version of himself, a proud “social assassin” who’s often on the outs with friends and strangers for his strong, brutally honest opinions about everyday life and the ridiculousness of society.
“Curb” quickly followed on the heels of David’s 1999 pseudo-documentary “Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm,” which chronicled his return to standup years after wrapping “Seinfeld.” In that special and on all 10 seasons of the show, David has been joined by Jeff Garlin as his manager Jeff Greene and Cheryl Hines as his wife Cheryl David, who earned an Emmy nomination for her role in 2006. Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy has been cast in the new season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Variety has learned exclusively.
The exact nature of Tweedy’s role in Season 10 of the HBO comedy is being kept under wraps. Tweedy is said to be good friends with Jeff Garlin, who stars on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” as Jeff Greene in addition to executive producing.
This will not be Tweedy’s first acting role, as he previously appeared in the role of Scott Tanner in multiple episodes of “Parks and Recreation.” He also portrayed himself in two episodes of “Portlandia” and in the feature film “Hearts Beat Loud.”
Tweedy founded Wilco in 1994. The band has released 10 studio albums including the Grammy Award-winning “A Ghost Is Born” in 2005.
