Note: The following contains spoilers for the “Daisy Jones & the Six” finale.
With such an emotional breakup of the band and couples within, it would take something big to bring all the members of Daisy Jones & the Six back together to tell their versions of what really happened. But the finale for the Prime Video series did just that, revealing that — just like in Taylor Jenkins Reid’s book — the documentarian who’s been collecting all these interviews in the future is none other than Billy (Sam Claflin) and Camilla’s (Camilla Morrone) daughter Julie (Seychelle Gabriel).
Julia, whose younger version is portrayed by Naya Kodeh, turns out to be the one behind the camera, asking all the hard questions that led to her parents’ band members heading their separate ways.

As horror fans know all too well, sometimes the most terrifying monsters are places: Riverdale (the town with pep that’s also the murder capital of the world), Hill House (whatever walks there walks alone), Twin Peaks, Salem’s Lot — atmospheric horror wreathes these landmarks and towns. There’s not one beast to eradicate, everything is infected.
Such is the case with the upcoming horror podcast Borrasca, which was created by The Haunting of Hill House writer Rebecca Klingel and stars Cole Sprouse, who plays Jughead in the dark, campy Archie Comics TV series Riverdale.

Exclusive: Isaac Keys has been promoted to series regular and Michaela Watkins (Casual) and Seychelle Gabriel (Sleepy Hollow) have been tapped for recurring roles on the upcoming third season of Epix’s Get Shorty, from MGM Television. Production is underway in Vancouver for premiere this fall on Epix.
Key has recurred as Ed since the first season of the series, starring Chris O’Dowd and Ray Romano, appearing in a total of 18 episodes. Ed is Amara’s (Lidia Porto) bodyguard and a top lieutenant in her gang. He’s intimidating and built like a linebacker, but is intelligent and has a quiet confidence and dignity about him. Ed may not seem important, but he is perhaps the person Amara trusts most.
Get Shorty is based in part on Elmore Leonard’s 1990 bestselling novel — which also spawned Barry Sonnenfeld’s 1995 feature — and created for television by Davey Holmes. The series follows Miles Daly (O’Dowd), muscle for a Nevada crime ring who tries to become a movie producer in Hollywood with the help of a washed-up producer, Rick Moreweather (Romano), as a means to leave his criminal past behind.
In season two, Miles (O’Dowd) struggled to reconcile his ambitions as a filmmaker and a family man with his skill set as a career criminal. His progress in Hollywood is jeopardized when his washed-up producing partner Rick (Romano) agrees to wear a federal wire and begins a romantic relationship with dangerous crime boss Amara De Escalones (Porto).
Season three finds Miles embracing more ruthless methods as he settles scores in an attempt to continue climbing the Hollywood ladder.
Cast also includes series regulars Sean Bridgers, Carolyn Dodd, Goya Robles and Megan Stevenson. Steven Weber and Sarah Stiles are recurring guest stars.
Get Shorty season three is executive produced by Holmes and Adam Arkin. The series is produced by MGM Television and internationally distributed by MGM.
Keys is repped by Apa, Infinity Entertainment, and Ginsburg Daniels.

No genre is able to celebrate itself like horror. Plenty of comedies and dramas and sci-fi movies are good—even great—but rarely are they ever about their own genres in the way that horror movies can be. Case in point: Blood Fest, the latest effort from writer/director Owen Egerton (2015’s Follow), a movie that’s as much a horror movie as it is about celebrating why we love horror movies. This is a movie focused on a bunch of horror fans, made by a bunch of horror fans not content to make just one type of horror movie, so instead they make every type of horror movie.
Dax (Robbie Kay) is a horror-obsessed teenager whose mother was murdered by a deranged slasher movie fan when he was a kid. As a result, his dad (Tate Donovan) has forbid him from having anything to do with the genre, including...

Seychelle Gabriel looks like she might still be pretty young in this picture but she’s in her late twenties at this point. To date she’s had a fairly busy career and has made the most of it so far by starring alongside some very influential people. If you don’t recognize her don’t feel too bad since memorizing every face in Hollywood is kind of tough unless you’re completely dedicated to it and find it that interesting. Seychelle has been in a few noted movies and TV shows but to date hasn’t landed that one role that could really make her

Produced by popular YouTube outfit Rooster Teeth, Blood Fest aims to follow in the footsteps of self-aware meta horrors like Scream and Cabin in the Woods. Unfortunately, while there’s no doubting the filmmakers’ evident love for the genre, the end result isn’t nearly as funny or as clever as it thinks it is.
After a generic slasher movie prologue in which a young boy sees his mother get killed by a masked maniac, we’re introduced to horror-loving Dax (Robbie Kay) and his best buddies Sam (Seychelle Gabriel) and Krill (Jacob Batalon), who are desperate to attend horror festival Blood Fest, against the wishes of Dax’s strict father (Tate Donovan), who blames the genre for his wife’s (i.e. Dax’s mother’s) murder in the prologue.

After experimenting with his form of boundary-pushing, cinema-as-memory films to great, succesful lengths with his last three narrative features–not to mention Voyage of Time, which we’re still awaiting an actual U.S. release for–Terrence Malick will return to more of a traditional script with his WWII drama Radegund, hopefully releasing later this year. But first, after splicing in avant-garde and experiential touches with his last few films, he’s making the natural step into virtual reality.

Magician Bo performs some quick and very painful dental surgery with his mind in a new clip from Sleight, hitting theaters on Friday, April 28th.
"Every hero story has an arch villain. Meet Angelo. See Sleight, in theaters April 28th. #SleightMovie
A young street magician (Jacob Latimore) is left to care for his little sister after their parents passing and turns to illegal activities to keep a roof over their heads. When he gets in too deep, his sister is kidnapped and he is forced to use his magic and brilliant mind to save her. Sleight stars Jacob Latimore, Seychelle Gabriel, Dulé Hill, Sasheer Zamata, and Storm Reid."
Sleight is written and directed by J.D. Dillard (who is in talks to direct a remake of The Fly), and in case you missed it, check out our previous coverage of the film:

Every year, the Sundance Film Festival introduces audiences to bright new filmmaking talent on both sides of the camera. That was certainly the case in 2016 when J.D. Dillard’s crime-thriller Sleight was picked up at Sundance by Jason Blum’s Bh Tilt and WWE Studios for co-distribution.
The movie stars Jacob Latimore (The Maze Runner) as Bo, a young teen living in Los Angeles with his younger sister Tina (Storm Reid), who uses his abilities as a street magician to support them after the death of their parents. On the side, Bo deals designer drugs for Angelo (Dulé Hill), but Bo’s need to make more money to get himself and Tina out of town leads him to use his magic skills to make extra money without Angelo finding out.
One day while doing magic, Bo meets the pretty Holly (Seychelle Gabriel) and the two start seeing each other, but...

J.D. Dillard’s Sleight is an anomaly for many reasons – least of which involves a body-hacking Iron Boy. How about perennial goofball Dulé Hill passing for a drug kingpin (which he does)? Or Jacob Latimore’s ability to wield magic with a coolness that escapes most street magicians? Seriously. How many dudes have ever successfully sparked a relationship with card tricks? Somehow Dillard makes it all work in this criminal caper about territory, respect and escaping the streets, turning sideshow gags into legitimate superhero escapism. It’s like Now You See Me, but with actual stakes. No Horsemen, just desperation cornered by circumstance.
Latimore plays Bo, an orphaned dropout whose sole focus is caring for little sister Tina (Storm Reid). By day, he stuns passerbys with sleight-of-hand illusions, and by night he deals drugs for Angelo (Dulé Hill). It’s not the life Bo chose – leaving an engineering scholarship behind...

Magicians have been trying to make a resurgence on the cool side of our zeitgeist since Now You See Me (we all know how that went), so it’s no surprise a new indie-superhero angle is being taken with Sleight. The feature debut of writer-director J.D. Dillard — who did VFX work for The Force Awakens — Sleight‘s new trailer has all the floating-card trappings of a superhero flick combined with a coming-of-age crime drama edge.
There are quotes in the trailer hailing the film for its genre-bending abilities, but superhero films and crime dramas go rather hand-in-hand, in my opinion. Still, it looks to have an effective use of VFX for its modest budget. With a lean hour and a half runtime, it could be a late spring indie worth your time. Featuring new-comer Jacob Latimore (The Maze Runner, Ride Along) and the always-watchable Dulé Hill, see the full trailer below,...

If Lionsgate’s lucrative Now You See Me franchise focuses on the more glamorous side of cinema magic, writer-director J.D. Dillard is poised to shift the spotlight onto the genre’s dark, character-driven underbelly with Sleight, the low-budget thriller that first made waves back at last year’s Sundance Film Festival.
Now, it’s teetering on the verge of release, and though a magician isn’t strictly supposed to reveal their tricks to the clueless viewer, a new trailer for Dillard’s drama has debuted online for our viewing pleasure. Described as Chronicle meets Iron Man, Sleight begins by introducing Jacob Latimore’s gifted lead character Bo, a budding street magician who finds himself mingling with the wrong crowd in downtown Los Angeles. Eager to protect his young sister Tina (Storm Reid), Bo finds his life placed under threat when a local drug dealer turns against him, threatening to kill...

This was one of my favorite movies to come out of the Sundance Film Festival last year, and I've been eagerly waiting to see it again. It's a thrilling movie that I know audiences will enjoy if they give it a chance. This new trailer offers you more insight into the story of the film and the characters that fill it. Make sure to read our review for the film here.

"I can do something no one else can..." Blumhouse Tilt has released a brand new, full-length official trailer for an indie film titled Sleight, which premiered in the ultra-low budget Nexst section of the Sundance Film Festival last year. Sleight is about a street magician in Los Angeles who gives himself superpowers and takes on a local drug dealer to save his sister. Jacob Latimore plays Bo, with a full cast featuring Seychelle Gabriel, Dulé Hill, Storm Reid, Sasheer Zamata, Michael Villar, Brandon Johnson & Cameron Esposito. I wrote in my review "it's a fairly simple story, but the film is still awesome." I highly recommend seeing this film, mostly to support talented young directors and shoestring budget filmmaking. Check it out. Here's the new full-length trailer (+ new poster) for J.D. Dillard's Sleight, direct from YouTube: You can still see the first teaser trailer for Sleight here, to compare footage from these trailers.

With the laughably incompetent Now You See Me franchise being the current standard for Hollywood when it comes to magician-related films, we must turn to the independent side of filmmaking for a saving grace. Premiering to strong reviews at Sundance earlier this year, Sleight follows a young street magician who must use his skills to save his family. Picked up by WWE Studios and Blumhouse Productions after its premiere, we now have the first teaser ahead of a spring release.
The directorial debut of Jd Dillard (who also has a project in development at Bad Robot, where he was once a receptionist), while it only runs a little over half-a-minute, the first preview has no shortage of style and intrigue. Starring Jacob Latimore, Dulé Hill, Seychelle Gabriel, Storm Reid, Sasheer Zamata, and Cameron Esposito, check out the teaser below.

The Sundance Film institute has released the line-up of film for the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. Going to Sundance is one of my favorite events of the year. I love going because you never know what kind of movies you're going to see. Sometimes they are great films that amaze and entertain, other times they completely suck ass, but that's all part of the fun of going to the festival. It's an awesome experience for any hardcore movie geek, and if you ever get a chance to go, you need to.
The event takes place in Park City, Utah next year from January 21st to the 31st. It looks like there's a great line-up of movies at next year's event. My favorite portion of the event is the Midnight section because it deals more with geeky genre type movies, but I also enjoy the various sections of other line-ups.

We might look back to 2015’s 10 film line-up as a true vintage year for the Next section. With the likes of Rick Alverson’s Entertainment, Sebastián Silva’s Nasty Baby, Matt Sobel’s Take Me to the River, Sean Baker’s Tangerine and section winner Josh Mond’s James White, we’d be hard pressed to say that this year’s 10 selected film selection is a better crop, but so far with names such as Tim Sutton and his super secretive third film (Dark Night – see pic above), video helmer we adore in Nicolas Pesce’s debut (The Eyes of My Mother), short film Yearbook fest winner Bernardo Britto’s first (Jacqueline Argentine), big Slamdance home run hitter with The Dirties’ Matt Johnson (Operation Avalanche) and the Venice to Park City bound The Fits from Anna Rose Holmer are all films we eagerly await. Airing on TNT, Falling Skies has been one of the cable channel's top-rated shows. However, the ratings have been dropping each year. Will they continue to fall or will they start to rebound? Will this series be renewed for a fifth season or, will it be cancelled instead? We'll have to wait and see.
On Falling Skies, the resistance continues to struggle for survival in the wake of a catastrophic alien invasion. The cast includes Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Colin Cunningham, Connor Jessup, Maxim Knight, Sarah Sanguin Carter, Mpho Koaho, and Seychelle Gabriel.
