- With Istituto Luce Cinecittà, Plays and Elda Ferri he has produced the docu-film The Forbidden Fashion (2019) and the script for a film about the famous couturier. Show Runner for Rai 3 of Da Storia Nasce Storia (1991): the first TV series, in the spirit of Jacob Levi Moreno Psycho-cinema, that has been defined by 'La Stampa' "the theatrical-television success of the year". To do what he loves (create Images for the search for Truth) directs Plays Production House and the School of Specialization in Psychodrama and Psychocinema IPOD, linked to Italian Ministry of University and Research. Consultant for companies as New Holland, Maserati and Ferrari, he makes video labs like Sette Emozioni: A series of Socioplay on Jaak Pankseep's research (2018) for OFF/OFF Theater of Rome and Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena. Inventor of three techniques: La scacchiera e il play (2012) and "Bricconaggi": the first is based on the dislocation of action figures from the world of cinema, fantasy, sport and religions, on a series of chessboards surrounded by lights and laser pointers and culminates in a "Videoplay". "Bricconaggi" as Perdo/nanda Pivano (2018) and I cani dell'acqua marcia (2018) are controversial and aggressive video-plays for the catharsis of PTSD: they must be supervised by a good analyst and should be put on the Net in the spirit of Openness, overcoming the classic psychoanalytic privacy. For three years Rosati conduces Lo psicologo di famiglia (1993) a TV series created with Alessandro Cecchi Paone and inspired the program of Francoise Dolto for the French Radio. He realizes for Rai Sat (Italy) with the writer Alfredo Antonaros 21 episodes of Il Pappafreud (2001), a program with quotation of movies, based on the idea that his dear parrot Teto, a speaking Cacatoa Alba, is the reincarnation of prof. Freud who visits people in markets and restaurants. Teto and his wife Iside also play with Ottavio in Stelle sopra stelle sotto (2010) a video-reading about poetry, dedicated to his mother Mirella. He works for years with Moreno Cerquetelli for the Tg3 program Chi è di scena (2004) (RAI) where, as translator of Moreno's books in Italy, he proposes to replace the Italian word 'psicodramma' with 'psicoplay'. In 2008 - despite the production of Rai Sat Gambero Rosso - Rosati succeeds in realizing The Dickens Christmas Carol - First TV socioplay (2006) in Basilica di S. Maria in Trastevere in collaboration with Malcolm Andrews (Kent University) and the parish don Matteo Zuppi (today cardinal). For Teatro Stabile di Torino (TST) he realized with big success Pirandello's comedy "Ciascuno a suo modo" as socioplay: La Moreno che tutti sanno chi è (1986) with Zerka T. Moreno, Pier Luigi Pirandello and Dario Fo. For TST he also realizes the format of Giocare il sogno, filmare il gioco (1990) with the actors Rosalia Maggio, Alessandro Haber, Piera Degli Esposti, Milena Vukotic and the final comment by Vittorio Gassman. Rai Cinema calls Rosati to write the screenplay for a film A Secret Simmetry (1997) based on Aldo Carotenuto's book about Freud, Jung and Sabine Spielrein. He has produced thirty shorts by the comedy Cacatoa: un pappa.giallo europeo (2008) at Il Piombo e l'Oro del Perdono (2005) on the Israeli Palestine Conflict (Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Author of two scripts: Ciao Teto! a thriller of parrot-smuggling and prostitution and "La Rinascita di Don Romeo" about don Romeo Egizi, the uncle benefactor of his father Giovanni. On the subject of 'Family Tree' Rosati has also produced for Plays Il corpo e l'albero (il lavoro trans-generazionale di Antonio Bertoli) (2013) based on the work of Alejandro Jodorowsky who considers his Master in the Creative and Spiritual field. His docu-film Generazioni d'amore: Le quattro Americhe di Fernanda Pivano (2001) a portrait of the writer Fernanda Pivano was presented at the 19° Torino Cinema Festival where Pivano on the red carpet activated a sincronicity phenomenon that interrupted the festival. In 2020 Istituto Luce Cinecittà published the DVD with the secret story of the movie. In 2017, with the help of Stefano Carta and Francesco Marzano, Rosati realizes the hypertext 'Quattro Decenni di Plays per il Teatro del Tempo con Fernanda Pivano e Marie Louise von Franz" (plays.it/ipod). For Cinecittà Holding and UniRoma Sapienza he realizes the long project Fantasmi al Valle (2012) spin off of 'Fantasmi' by Ezio Donato produced in 2002 by University and Teatro Stabile di Catania. He receives the "J. L. Moreno Award" together with Zerka Toeman Moreno for nine years of work at the CeIS International Training School and his research in multi-angle shooting that he carries on up to Il rischio della felicità (2011) with Luciana Santioli and to L'amore in piazza (2017) that ends with the marriage of Tinto Brass and his Muse Caterina. Rosati receives in 2002, from the Rector of University, the 'Medal of the City of Catania', together with Leo Gullotta for their interpretation of Luigi Pirandello and Jacob Moreno in 'Fantasmi'. In 2013 Pier Luigi and Giovanna Pirandello prize him with the Honor Plaque 'Friends of Pirandello' for his video research about 'Six Characters in Search of an Author'. In 2019 in the booklet for the DVD of Le Psychodrame (1956) by Jacob Levi Moreno and Roberto Rossellini, published by Museo del Cinema and Istituto Luce Cinecittà, Rosati highlights a synchronicity between the experiment of Psychocinema of the French television and his Storia del treno e del passaggio a livello (2012) produced by Italian Television in 1991.The workshop about RAGE of Sette Emozioni: A series of Socioplay on Jaak Pankseep's research (2018), inspires him the script of Le bimbe atomiche (2019) about the 'invisible traumas' and the rescue of love. In 2020 l'Istituto Luce Cinecittà publishes the DVD of the new version of "Generazioni d'amore" produced by Plays with the collaboration of Jean Vigo Italia. The special contents present a socioplay on the reactions of some students to the projection of the film.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Antonio Goldi
- Editing recited scenes he is attentive to the script but in the assembly of psychodramas he underlines errors, role inversions and missing acts due to the emergence of the unconscious.
- As a director of psychoplay, he joins the catharsis of the audience with his own personal openess, the opposite of privacy that characterizes the traditional psychoanalytic work.
- For productions as Giocare il sogno, filmare il gioco (1990) and Da Storia Nasce Storia (1991) he avoids working in theaters and studios. He chooses isolated environments in woods or countryside as communities or meditation centers.
- Rai3 and Plays (IT) have fully realized the Psychocinema project by J. L. Moreno: with Giocare il sogno, filmare il gioco (1990) Rai3 has broadcasted psychodrama for the first time. As show runner of the series Rosati has utilized actors, music, lights and scenographic materials.
- Uses a psychoanalytic supervisor to manage his dynamics with actors and producers.
- He is a big fan of the art critic Federico Zeri, of the writer Luigi Pirandello and of the director Paolo Sorrentino.
- He is Buddhist and Christian (according to Eugen Drewermann and Carlo Maria Martini). His Vipassana Meditation teacher is prof. Corrado Pensa (dir. Ameco - Rome). When Otto sings in church he changes the words of the hymns freely, thinking more about the Resurrection than about death.
- He kept eleven parrots in his studio. He shared this passion with his partner Fabio, a young 3D animator and painter. The first work they produced together is L'impero dei pappagalli (1994) with two musical videos (Take six and Lucio Dalla) made with Maya.
- In the decades when Otto lived in Rome in the "palazzo" of Trastevere in an apartment attached to that of the Americanist Fernanda Pivano they had a couple of parrots Cacatoa (teto and Iside), a pair of Eclectus, a yellow-headed amazon, a krameris, a pair of squirrels and a pair of angora rabbits that moved between the books and a big cage built on the terrace. Ottavio described this atmosphere in Generazioni d'amore: Le quattro Americhe di Fernanda Pivano (2001).
- In 2001 the americanist Fernanda Pivano declared that his Generazioni d'amore: Le quattro Americhe di Fernanda Pivano (2001) (written together) was not a documentary about her work but a scandalous "Madrigal of Love". Bernardo Bertolucci saved its participation in 19° Torino Cinema Festival and Rosati replied to Pivano with Perdo/nanda Pivano (2018) and with the hypertext "Quattro Decenni di Plays" (plays.it/ipod).
- Psychodrama does not exist. There are psicodrama directors.
- The cinema of violence and Super Heroes is the consolation of viewers who live on the plane of a False Self submissive, and incapable of heroism. Even minimal.
- Today the construction of a fully equipped psychodrama theater "Il Teatro del Tempo" (imagined by Fernanda Pivano and me) is a moral, clinical and cultural obligation.
- Video shots of psychoplays are very important. Some moments between conductor and group are equivalent to some 'pas de deux' of the classical ballet perfectly executed, especially as they happen without rehearsals and in a semi-empty stage.
- I came from a family with good qualities but with important problems that I had to solve for everyone. So I've done more than eight therapies since 1973. I am also grateful to my tennis and meditation masters.
