At just 41, Ben Winston — the guest on this episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast — is one of the top TV producers in show business. The Brit first made his name in America eight years ago when he became the youngest EP of an American late night show ever, CBS’s The Late Late Show with James Corden, which was to be hosted by his countryman and dear friend James Corden.
Over the years since, while producing that show from its inception in 2015 through its conclusion earlier this year, Winston has, through Fulwell 73 — the company that he founded and runs with Leo Pearlman, Benjamin Turner and Gabe Turner, as well as Corden, which Variety described as “the go-to production house for A-list talent in unscripted event programming” — taken on a wide variety of other producing gigs as well. Transforming Disney’s award-winning animated feature “Encanto” into a live experience at the Hollywood Bowl in front of an audience of 17,000 people was no easy feat, with factors such as the pandemic, limited access to the venue and unexpected weather conditions all in play. But the production team, cast and crew pulled it off in under 72 hours, delivering a Broadway-quality experience.
Unlike a Broadway show, the original voice cast, scores of dancers and production team did not have the luxury of rehearsing at the Bowl. Gabe Turner, executive producer of the event, said, “We could only gain access to the Bowl for four days before we were due to welcome our dancers, orchestra and cast into the space.”
“This meant we really only had 72 hours where we had everyone in the same place, rehearsing and stepping through numbers before we were due to open doors,” said producer Sally Wood.

Prime Video is giving singles the chance to find love with the help of mystical guides in “Cosmic Love,” one of three new reality romance series the streamer announced Wednesday.
Here’s the description for “Cosmic Love,” which will premiere in August:
“In this one-of-a-kind social experiment, four individuals attempt to find their perfect spouse via astrological matchmaking. Their romantic adventure takes place at a retreat run by a mystical guide, the Astro Chamber. They mingle, match, date, eliminate, and eventually make the biggest decision of their lives… will they marry their match, based solely on their astrology?”
The show’s astrologers are Ophira and Tali Edut (The AstroTwins), and they’ll guide the singles throughout the season through something the show is dubbing the “Astro Chamber” (voiced by Cree Summer).
“The One That Got Away,” hosted by singer/songwriter Betty Who, will premiere with all 10 episodes on June 24. Here...

Kim Kardashian owes Ben Winston a massage.
In 2021, Winston was ready to take a vacation. His company, Fulwell 73, had just wrapped production on HBO Max’s highly anticipated “Friends” reunion and the Grammy Awards, not to mention James Corden’s “Late Late Show,” which has been airing on CBS since 2015 with five episodes per week.
Earlier last year, Corden, one of Winston’s producing partners, had bumped into Kris Jenner in Palm Springs, where they both own second homes. Corden, already friendly with Jenner, who had been a guest on his show, spoke to the momager about her family’s new Hulu reality show, which would follow 20 ground-breaking seasons of E!’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
Jenner told Corden she was just starting to take meetings with production companies. They set up a Zoom and he bought her a pair of Gucci pajamas as a thank you gift. “I said,...
