[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 12, “The Road Ahead.”] Who said joy can’t be found in the rotted depths of the end of the world? All post-apocalyptic pessimism is banished in the final scenes of Fear The Walking Dead’s finale, “The Road Ahead.” The alive, then dead, then alive, then dead, then alive again (long story) Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) was at last able to pull her daughter, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), in for a tearful embrace. And as a bonus, Daniel (Ruben Blades) even gets his long-missing orange tabby cat back. Yep—Skidmark lives! We chatted with showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg about how long that emotional reunion was in the making, whether or not they considered resurrecting other fan favorites in the finale, and whether there’s a chance certain Fear characters might appear in future The Walking Dead projects. When Alycia Debnam-Carey departed last season,...

Of all the terrible things Victor Strand has done throughout his time shifting allegiances on Fear the Walking Dead, acting like he didn't know Madison is one of the worst.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 7 filled in the blanks about what became of the villain after his ill-fated tower imploded, and it was another meandering episode of this once-hot zombie drama.
Pulling off such a reunion between Madison and Anton Strand was no easy feat, and for the first time in a long time, Madison felt like the leader we left when Kim Dickens was unceremoniously written out of Fear the Walking Dead Season 4.
Despite the attempts from current showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg to fix the damage they caused to the show and its fandom by discarding Dickens, Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 has been a waste of time.

Talk about daddy issues. When Fear the Walking Dead’s eighth and final season begins, seven years have elapsed, and survivor Morgan Jones (Lennie James) has continued trying to do right by his adopted daughter, Mo. But, the child-stealing organization P.A.D.R.E. still has her and is stronger than ever as it builds a community of dangerous youths. Morgan is pushed “to consider actions he never thought he’d have to face again,” says co-showrunner Andrew Chambliss. That, of course, means infiltrating P.A.D.R.E., a place we’ve long heard about, but not seen much of up until this point in the series. “P.A.D.R.E. holds a unique place in the Twdu, not just because its location and defenses make it an extremely safe place to live, but also because of the way it’s organized itself,” explains Chambliss. “P.A.

It's no secret that Fear the Walking Dead is the most inconsistent series on TV in recent memory.
The first three seasons were not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but under the leadership of Dave Erickson, certain aspects of those initial three seasons towered above the main series.
With Erickson's departure at the end of Fear the Walking Dead Season 3, there was a noticeable dive in quality, thanks to inconsistent pacing, poorly developed characters, and some nonsensical storytelling.
Every time the series has shown some semblance of quality, it has returned off the rails before we get accustomed to it.
Surprisingly, the first three episodes of Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 are some of the strongest since those initial three seasons, giving the sense that the latest revamp might bring the show to a close with some dignity.

AMC brought Fear the Walking Dead and the new The Walking Dead spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City to the 2023 WonderCon held March 24-26 in Anaheim, CA. While Dead City made its WonderCon debut, this year’s panel for Fear the Walking Dead marks its final time appearing at what’s referred to as the smaller, more low-key version of the massive San Diego Comic-Con.
Series stars Kim Dickens, Jenna Elfman, and Christine Evangelista joined co-showrunner Ian Goldberg and executive producer Michael Satrazemis for the show’s final season panel. AMC used the WonderCon panel to debut the season eight trailer, and the network also released a new poster and photos online. And during the panel, Goldberg confirmed season eight includes a seven-year time jump.

Last month, AMC announced that the eighth season of Fear the Walking Dead, which is set to begin airing on May 14th, will be the final season. Now cinematographer David Morrison has taken to Instagram to mark the fact that filming is underway on the series finale. Morrison said, “Been looking forward to this for a while. Years in the making. Let’s do this!” The series finale is being directed by Michael E. Satrazemis, a franchise regular who has directed seventeen episodes of The Walking Dead, twenty episodes of Fear the Walking Dead, and three episodes of Tales of the Walking Dead.

The best way to describe Fear the Walking Dead is a rollercoaster.
What started as a compelling look into how the world fell became a tedious affair, and we're surprised it's even getting an eighth and final season to tie up loose ends.
The series was destined for success on its brand name alone, and looking back, it's hard to believe that it is the same show we watched during the first three seasons.
It's time to dive into how the show lost most of its viewers and whether anything could have prevented the series from becoming what it is today: A shell of its former self.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 premiered to a decent response and broke several cable records.
It started as a series about the Clark family and their struggle to come to terms with the fall of the world.
It wasn't bad at the beginning,...

AMC and AMC+ have set a Sunday, May 14, 2023 premiere date for the eighth – and final – season of Fear the Walking Dead. The network also announced the new The Walking Dead spinoff, The Walking Dead: Dead City, will premiere this June, and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is expected to debut later this year.
The Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira spin-off will begin shooting this year. The network’s targeting a 2024 premiere for Rick Grimes and Michonne’s spinoff series.

Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before?...

AMC’s The Walking Dead has been through hell and back.
The zombie drama based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series has weathered multiple lawsuits, four showrunners and more cast departures and bloody deaths than fans could keep track of. And now that the flagship series is ending — the series finale airs Sunday — AMC, like a corpse that reanimates, is bringing the show that started it all back in several new ways.

Last week, more than 400 TV creators and showrunners — all of them women — sent letters to top executives at Hollywood studios demanding that specific safety protocols be put in place for pregnant employees in states where abortion has been outlawed, or soon will be. Now, letters of support signed by 594 men — including J.J. Abrams, Jordan Peele, Greg Berlanti, Donald Glover, Aaron Sorkin, David E. Kelley, Taika Waititi and Ryan Murphy — have been sent to the same companies.
The text of the letter is short, simply saying the undersigned stand with their “female, trans & non-binary showrunner colleagues in demanding a response from our employers regarding the imminent crisis” at hand. It was delivered by replying-all to the first letter, and was sent to Disney, Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount, Apple, NBC Universal, Amazon, Lionsgate and AMC.
These activist correspondences have been instigated by the Supreme Court’s June 24 Dobbs decison, which overturned Roe v.

If there's been one complaint about Fear the Walking Dead of late, it's that the show has not been killing off big characters.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 12 said goodbye to two of the show's better characters.
After some shocking scenes, Omid Abtahi's Howard was thrown from the top of Strand's tower, but the actor knew that his character had a shelf-life going into the series.
"He was only to be a part of the show for a certain number of episodes," Abtahi tells TV Fanatic exclusively.
"So I wasn't surprised so much that he was dying. I was very much surprised by how he died. I was surprised that it was, you know, John that did it," he adds.
"I was surprised that Victor decided to, no matter how loyal Howard was, to send him over the edge, but all that being said, if anyone was going to do it,...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead Season 7, Episode 9, “Follow Me.”] It’s pretty clear that all is not well with Alicia Clark (Alycia Debnam-Carey). When Season 7 of Fear resumes, Alicia is being tormented with nightmares, fevers and all matters of ailments both from the physical after-effects of her bite (or the amputation) and her guilt over what happened with Arno’s (Spenser Granese) group — guilt that is literally hunting her as Arno will not let it go. By the end of the episode, Alicia’s head is on a bit more straight, and she’s realized that she needs to trust herself to build a community stronger than Victor Strand’s (Colman Domino) people in the Tower. But we still have a ton of questions about what’s ahead in her journey, so we picked the brains of co-showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg for all the intel. Read on for more...

Fear the Walking Dead will soon grant a major wish fulfillment moment for its fans, having officially set the return of Kim Dickens as the show’s maternal demolisher of the dead, Madison Clark. Thus, a surreal reunion is imminent for Season 7B of a series that is nigh-unrecognizable from the era of the character’s controversially-ambiguous Season 4 exit. Interestingly, the plan was set way back in January, requiring Dickens to keep a stupendous secret for nearly a year.
Coming off Sunday’s airing of Fear the Walking Dead’s 7A midseason finale, AMC’s long-running post-show, Talking Dead, paid tribute to concluded spinoff The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and touted a mystery guest, who turned out to be a remote-appearing Kim Dickens. However, the former Fear headliner wasn’t there to reminisce about her starring run, and came right out with the announcement for which fans have been waiting for three-and-half years,...

AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead has been picked up for an eighth season, the network announced Sunday night on Talking Dead following the Season 7 fall finale of The Walking Dead spinoff. Popular former cast member Kim Dickens, who played Madison Clark in Seasons 1 through 4 of Fear the Walking Dead, is set to return. She will make her first appearance in the second half of Season 7, which debuts April 17, and will continue as a series regular in Season 8.
“If there were a Mt. Deadmore, Kim Dickens’ face would be on it. Madison Clark is a foundational character to Twdu — heroic, complex, an everyperson who becomes a warrior and then a force of benevolence,” said Scott M. Gimple, Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe. “Kim Dickens’ raw talent, strength, and brilliance will electrify Twdu once more and we couldn’t be luckier to have her back.”

“Fear the Walking Dead” has been renewed for Season 8, with former series star Kim Dickens set to return to the zombie apocalypse series.
The announcement was made on “Talking Dead” following the series finale of “The Walking Dead: World Beyond.” Dickens will make her return to the series in the second half of Season 7, which debuts on April 10 on AMC Plus and April 17 on AMC. She will then appear as a series regular in Season 8. Dickens starred as Madison Clark in the series from Season 1-Season 4, with her character appearing to die by sacrificing herself in an explosion.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 6
Fear the Walking Dead used to be must-watch television for me, once upon a time. This was due in no small part to following the exploits of characters I actually cared about. Characters like Nick, Alicia, and Travis—members of a blended family who weathered the earliest days of a nascent zombie apocalypse. Fear billed itself as a drama in those first seasons, and its stories were suitably gritty and gripping. But now, seven seasons in, Fear bears little resemblance to the concept that original showrunner Dave Erickson once envisioned.
As for this week’s episode, “Reclamation” is a minor step up from the last two weeks, but that’s a low bar to clear. “Reclamation” still has its share of problems, most of which stem from dodgy character motivations and odd storytelling choices. Which is a shame,...

Call it a brave new apocalypse. Ten warheads exploded across the Texas terrain in the Season 6 finale of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead. And the now spread-out survivors must cope in the nuclear wasteland — for now. Fallout sites, weather patterns, resources, and walker activity all factor in. “Even if [they] want to leave, they’re not going to be able to,” warns co-executive producer Andrew Chambliss. “It’s a pretty bleak, devastating world, but our team has made it look — I’m not sure beautiful is right — but it really draws you in,” adds co-executive producer Ian Goldberg. Here’s how they put it all together. Fierce Flames and Fumes “From a production standpoint, it’s been a fun challenge,” says Goldberg of creating the show’s new look. “Everyone across every department has raised their game, which was already very high. It’s a combination of finding the right locations,...

It's bizarre to say this for a show like Fear The Walking Dead, but the world has changed.
The official trailer for Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 has dropped, and, well, it's a treat.
After the upswing in quality for Fear the Walking Dead Season 6, it looks like this next season might just top it.
Morgan and Grace appear to be on the outside looking into this new world order, and it's all thanks to Strand.
If you watch Fear the Walking Dead online, you know Strand started to embrace the darkness inside him in the final episodes of the previous season.
There was a whole monologue about him becoming who he was always supposed to be, and it's going to be so much fun to watch.
Morgan and Grace appear to be banned from the new community Strand is creating, and let's just say there will be a lot...

Fear The Walking Dead will be on the hunt when the AMC spinoff returns this fall, as it was made clear Saturday during the series’ Comic-Con@Home panel.
The network revealed during the presentation that Season 7 of FearTWD will premiere October 17 and unleashed not one but two significant looks at the upcoming cycle of the zombie apocalypse spinoff toplined by Lennie James and Colman Domingo.
Coming off the nuclear blast that basically ended Season 6, the first clip features now-parents Morgan Jones (James) and Grace Mukherjee (Karen David) having to fend to feed baby Morgan in the radiation-drenched Texas fallout their world has become.
If the first clip looks to the future (bleak as it may be), the second glimpse of the upcoming season showrun by Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg takes us underground with Jenna Elfman’s June Dorie and her father-in-law (Keith Carradine). Shaken awake in their bunker, the...

As the "Walking Dead" TV universe has expanded over the years, there's only been one group that's appeared in the main series and both spinoffs: the Civic Republic, or Crm, which served as the main villains of the "World Beyond" spinoffs. But on "Fear the Walking Dead," which is currently years earlier than either "World Beyond" or the main series, there's just one Crm person we care about: Isabelle, played by Sydney Lemmon, who will finally return in season 7.
The news came out of the "Fear the Walking Dead" panel during Comic-Con@Home on Saturday afternoon, where we also learned that "Ftwd" season 7 will premiere on AMC on October 17, with an early release on AMC+. Co-showrunner Andrew Chambliss broke the news, but didn't say how much we can expect to see of Lemmon.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 16
So, you’ve spent the last several years surviving a violent hellscape of unliving death—lucky you! Only now, you suddenly find yourself staring down certain death in the form of a nuclear warhead. Knowing your destruction is imminent, how would you choose to live out your last moments?
That’s the basic premise of Fear the Walking Dead’s Season 6 finale, “The Beginning.” And I must admit, I went into this episode with high hopes—only to have those hopes dashed within minutes. This is through no fault of a talented cast that acts its talented heart out (as they usually do week after week). From Lennie James to Brigitte Kali Canales and everyone in between, they make the most out of what they’re given to work with.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 12
I’m just going to throw this out there: the second half of Fear the Walking Dead’s sixth season hasn’t been kind to moms. First, Virginia is killed off in “Things Left to Do” shortly after revealing to Dakota that she’s actually her mother, not her sister. And then, “In Dreams” spends most of its runtime selling the downbeat notion that Grace dies in labor. Instead, it’s her daughter Athena that doesn’t survive childbirth. Definitely not the best episode to air on Mother’s Day.
That being said, while “In Dreams” might deliver some interesting moments, overall it’s not one of Fear’s finest hours. Coming on the heels of a great episode like “The Holding,” this is a bit disappointing. Maybe my own disappointment stems from the fact that...

Few Fear the Walking Dead fans will have forgotten Nick Clark’s shocking death in season 4 but even that twist may pale in comparison to the season 6 midseason premiere’s most tragic moment. In fact, “The Door” may be the show’s darkest episode to date.
John Dorie is at the end of his rope at the start of the episode. Unable to stop the execution of Janis, who was framed for Cameron’s murder by Virginia earlier in the season and then fed to a group of hungry walkers, and then forced to leave Lawton without his beloved June, John feels he has nothing left to live for. In “The Door,” we learn that John has gone back to his cabin and plans to commit suicide. But as The Walking Dead fans know by now, nothing is ever that easy.

At WonderCon@Home on Saturday, Fear the Walking Dead showrunners Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss debuted a new clip from the second half of Season 6, teasing what’s to come on the zombie drama.
In conversation with actors Lennie James, Colman Domingo and Jenna Elfman, Goldberg noted that villainous zombie apocalypse survivor Virginia (Colby Minifie) will continue to evolve in exciting ways, becoming all the more threatening, as an antagonist to the series’ leads, by the moment.
“This season, as much as it’s been a test for all, of how our characters are changing within Virginia’s communities, it’s also a sense of how Virginia is being tested because things have not exactly gone her way. We’ve been seeing Virginia tested in a lot of ways,” the EP said. “You see someone who, when we first introduced her, was so confident. Now, the walls are starting to close in around her,...

In today’s TV news roundup, AMC unveiled a promo for the second half of the sixth season of “Fear the Walking Dead,” and CNN Original Series set the premiere date for docuseries “The People V. The Klan.”

CNN‘s “The People V. The Klan,” produced by Blumhouse Television, will premiere on April 11 with back-to-back episodes beginning at 9 p.m. The four-part docuseries tells the little-known true story of Beulah Mae Donald, a Black mother in Alabama, who took down the Ku Klux Klan following the brutal lynching of her son, Michael Donald, in 1981. After local law enforcement failed to act, the Black community in the area, led by Donald, fought to bring justice to her son through a lawsuit against the United Klans of America. The series features interviews with those close to the story, as well as leaders within the civil rights movement and the Black Lives Matter movement,...

After being forced to enter a hiatus earlier than planned due to Covid-19, we finally have a return date for Fear the Walking Dead.
AMC announced today that the second half of Fear the Walking Dead 6, featuring nine all-new episodes, will return on Sunday, April 11 at 9 pm/8c.
A new episode of Talking Dead will air later that evening, which probably means something huge is about to go down.
The talk-show spinoff typically airs after the episodes that feature the biggest drama, and given the way Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 7 ended, we're inclined to believe the drama will be off the rails for our characters as they navigate uncharted waters.
As has been the norm for a while now, new episodes of Fear the Walking Dead will also be available early on AMC+ each week.
While The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond got added to AMC+ three days early,...

Fear the Walking Dead is now poised to outlive the soon-to-end mothership series from which it was spun, thanks to AMC’s renewal for a seventh season. While it’s far too early to speculate on Season 7, since the announcement only arrives shortly after the recent midseason finale of Season 6, the renewal will likely boost the rumor that the show’s original main character, Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), will make a momentous return after her presumed death in Season 4.
AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 announcement came with a teaser trailer bearing imagery hinting that the series will stay in its current Texas setting. However, the latest Madison rumor stems from this past October’s Season 6 premiere, which picked up on the cliffhanger moment in which Morgan (Lennie James) was left for dead, mortally wounded from a gunshot to the chest from the imperious leader of survivor group the Pioneers,...

If you've been watching Fear The Walking Dead's sixth season, then you know the show's survivors have changed drastically in the aftermath of Virginia splitting up Morgan's group, and we've also seen some creative new looks at the ever-ravenous living dead. Following the Dr. Frankenstein-esque walker creations that were encountered in the mid-season 6 finale of Fear The Walking Dead, it looks like there are more eerie enemies ahead (of both the living and the dead variety), as evidenced in the trailer for the second half of season 6.
While a premiere date for the second half of Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 has not been announced at this time, the new trailer indicates that the AMC show will return in 2021. You can check out the new trailer below, and in case you missed it, The Walking Dead will kick off its extended tenth season on February 28th.
