Ynw Melly is headed back to court on first-degree murder charges, with the Broward County State Attorney’s Office saying they will retry the rapper for the Oct. 2018 killings of two men.
A rep for the Broward County State Attorney’s Office confirmed to Rolling Stone that they would seek a retrial after Pitchfork first reported the news. A rep for the office declined to comment further, saying, “We don’t comment on pending cases.” A lawyer for Ynw Melly — real name Jamell Demons — did not immediately return a request for comment.

Back in 1991, writer/director Rolfe Kanefsky gifted the world with the horror comedy There’s Nothing Out There (watch it Here) – and after all this time, the score Christopher Thomas composed for the film is finally set to receive a CD release, courtesy of Klaatu Records. This release is limited to just 300 units, and copies can be pre-ordered at This Link. They’re expected to start shipping out in October.
Here’s some information on There’s Nothing Out There: The 1991 independent production, written by Kanefsky when he was a high school senior, revolves around Mike (Craig Peck), a genuine horror film buff who has studied every film of the genre on home video and has a developed a sense of impending danger or doom because of it. When a group of teens show up at the nearby cabin in the woods for spring break, Mike tries to warn them about someone or something stalking them.

Nick Sasso’s latest Muay Thai drama, Haymaker, comes out this Friday, so ahead of the release we wanted to spotlight one of the film’s creative talents, composer Chris Thomas. When discussing his approach to Haymaker, Thomas explains, “We decided to let it play as if concert music had been dropped into the movie. The music flows from a very emotional and psychological place, more ambient than interactive.” To learn more about Haymaker and Don’t

San Diego’s Comic-Con International is the biggest event in the world devoted to genre pop culture. While the big Hollywood movies get the most mainstream press, there’s also a large, lesser known and promoted Independent Film Festival devoted to genre short films tucked away within the overall convention.
The Cci-iff, as it’s acronymed, runs completely concurrently with the convention with programming running from morning to night that includes films devoted to comic book-inspired movies, horror movies, sci-fi flicks, comedies and documentaries. There are also several panels on filmmaking sandwiched in between the on-screen entertainment.
The fest also gives out awards. This year’s juror panel includes filmmakers Steven-Charles Jaffee and Kyle Newman, plus entertainment journalist Borys Kit.
Programming blocks are broken up by genre and the full film lineup below gives the exact starting time of each short film. There’s also one feature film screening this year,...
