Things are getting rather emotional on “The Voice” this season, as original coach Blake Shelton is gearing up for his final run. After sitting out last year, Kelly Clarkson has returned to the judging panel in Season 23 to send off Blake in proper style, and they’re joined by new coaches Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper. “Blake is killin’ it his last season,” Kelly stated at the end of the fourth episode. “I suspected that would happen. Don’t tell him I said this, but he’s the king of ‘The Voice.’ So it’s gonna be really weird that he’s not here. He will be missed by everyone.”
As of this writing, Blake has one of the strongest rosters of this Spring 2023 cycle, thanks in part to his being able to pitch to aspiring singers that they could be a part of his historic last team as he’s leaving “The Voice.

During the first live episode of “The Voice” Season 20, Blake Shelton made a bold prediction in front of America: Cam Anthony will be the biggest “superstar” ever to come out of NBC’s reality TV show. Of course, many of the former “Voice” winners and contestants have done well on the Billboard charts, including folks like Cassadee Pope (Season 3), Jordan Smith (Season 9) and Morgan Wallen (Season 6). But Blake seems to be suggesting the 19-year-old R&b singer will ultimately outpace all of them. What do You think?

Just as Gold Derby predicted, the winner of “The Voice” Season 19 was Carter Rubin. This 15-year-old pop singer of Team Gwen Stefani beat out two members of Team Blake Shelton, Jim Ranger and Ian Flanigan, who had to settle for second and third place, respectively. After the confetti fell on “The Voice” finale, fans online started speculating about whether Jim and Ian split the vote, helping Carter to an easy victory. It’s not a bad theory. After all, these two country/rock artists both appealed to similar audiences.

“The Voice” fans have until Tuesday morning to cast their votes for who they want to win Season 19, with all four coaches still in the running. Team Blake Shelton is represented by two artists, Ian Flanigan and Jim Ranger, while the others have a single contestant left: Carter Rubin for Team Gwen Stefani, Desz for Team Kelly Clarkson and John Holiday for Team John Legend. It’s no secret Blake has the most loyal “Voice” out there — after all, he’s won a leading seven times now — so both Ian and Jim will no doubt receive votes. But since these two country/rock artists have similar audiences, might they end up splitting the Team Blake vote, paving way for someone else to claim victory?
Last season Blake also had two singers in the finale, Todd Tilghman and Toneisha Harris, and they ended up coming in first and second place, respectively.

NBC has yet to announce the coaching panel for Season 19 of “The Voice,” but fans of the just-completed 18th cycle have their fingers crossed Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Nick Jonas all return as a group. This core foursome topped our recent poll that asked viewers to name their favorite judging panel of all time. They came in with a leading 66% of the vote, with only one other group earning double-digits: original stars Blake, Adam, Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green at 10%. Do you agree or disagree with those poll results? Sound off down in the comments section.
“Bring them back,” pleaded “The Voice” super fan Sandy before adding, “I thought Nick Jonas fit right in and he is very good with his comments. Great coaches in Season 18!” Another viewer named Ann agreed, declaring this group to be the “best panel of judges ever.”

Blake Shelton‘s losing streak came to an end on Tuesday night when he won his seventh “The Voice” championship thanks to Todd Tilghman. (Read our minute-by-minute recap to see how it all went down.) Todd, a 42-year-old pastor from Meridian, Mississippi, was a front-runner to win Season 18, particularly after leading Apple Music sales following Monday’s performance show. Todd’s success means that his coach Blake has won his first title in four seasons. See the updated list of “The Voice” winners in our photo gallery below.

Tuesday night during “The Voice’s” highly anticipated Season 18 finale, quarantined host Carson Daly took fans on a nostalgic journey through coaching panels of years past. Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green started it all back in Season 1, with Shakira and Usher coming to NBC’s reality TV show in Season 4, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams being hired in Season 7, and Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys joining in Season 11. However, did this 2020 season — starring Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Nick Jonas — have the best coaching panel to date?
The current judges were a perfect blend of experience (Shelton), enthusiasm (Clarkson), charm (Legend) and rawness (Jonas), which made them a force to be reckoned with whether sitting in the studio or skyping in from home. The competition is on! As we approach the Season 18 live shows of “The Voice,” Kelly Clarkson has some choice words for rival coach Blake Shelton. “I think that Team Kelly can take it again this year and I would love to rub that in Shelton’s face,” she smiled during Monday night’s “Road to Live Shows” special. As a reminder, Kelly has won three out of the four seasons she’s coached so far: Brynn Cartelli (Season 14), Chevel Shepherd (Season 15) and Jake Hoot (Season 17). Blake currently has the winningest record at six victories, but experience comes with a double-edged sword because that also means he’s lost the most.

“The Voice” viewers have been voting all week for which of Blake Shelton‘s artists they want to win Season 18, and the poll results are in. With a leading 48% of the vote, 44-year-old Toneisha Harris tops all of the other contestants on Team Blake. This Roswell, Georgia native originally auditioned with “I Want to Know What Love Is” in the blinds and quickly became a rare four-chair turn. If Toneisha pulls out a win in the May 19 finale, it would bring Blake his seventh victory after Jermaine Paul (Season 2), Cassadee Pope (Season 3), Danielle Bradbery (Season 4), Craig Wayne Boyd (Season 7), Sundance Head (Season 11) and Chloe Kohanski (Season 13).

It’s always a risk when an aspiring singer on “The Voice” takes on a song from a well-known artist, but the risk is magnified tenfold when a contestant performs one of their own coach’s classics. Well, Megan Danielle did just that during Monday’s knockouts, belting out Kelly Clarkson‘s “Piece by Piece” while CammWess performed A Great Big World‘s “Say Something.” In the end, Kelly made a “strategic” decision to keep Megan and send home CammWess … but he wasn’t out just yet. John Legend and Nick Jonas both tried to steal CammWess for their teams, with the young artist going “back home” to Team Legend. Do you think Kelly made the right choice for her Season 18 team? Even though Nick Jonas is competing against a trio of winning coaches on “The Voice” Season 18, he actually has a secret advantage because he’s the new kid on the block. After all, the last two times NBC’s reality TV show introduced new coaches, they prevailed on their inaugural seasons. Kelly Clarkson joined the panel in Season 14 and won with Brynn Cartelli, while John Legend was hired in Season 16 and claimed victory with Maelyn Jarmon. Does anyone from Nick’s current team have what it takes to continue the trend of beginner’s luck on “The Voice”?
