- For his role in "Shameless", Tyler had to re-audition for the role of "Tony Markovich" after he had already auditioned, booked, and shot the role for the pilot episode. Once picked up to series by Showtime, the role became larger than originally conceived. Tyler was a novice and more seasoned actors were brought in to test for the role of "Tony". He eventually won the part.
- The second role Tyler ever booked was created for him. He auditioned for the main guest star role on an episode of "Ghost Whisperer". While it was clearly too large a role to give an actor with literally one professional credit, they were so impressed with his audition they created a role for him.
- Tyler was awarded various ribbons and medals during his short nearly 3 year service in the Army. Among them are an Iraq Campaign Medal and a Combat Infantryman Badge.
