Not that long ago, a dark thriller featuring Kevin Spacey as a smooth-talking stranger who arrives in a small town with an apparent vendetta against one of its inhabitants might have been a major movie event. He was, after all, a hugely popular and critically acclaimed actor, known for playing iconic villains from The Usual Suspects and Seven all the way up through House of Cards. His gift for intimate, Shakespearean malice could certainly boost a box-office haul.

The trailer for Kevin Spacey’s new film, Peter Five Eight, has been released from Invincible Entertainment. The new trailer comes just a few weeks after Spacey released another of his annual Christmas video skits of him reprising his popular character from House of Cards, Frank Underwood. In his most recent entry, Spacey controversially brought in former Fox News host, Tucker Carlson, to interview him in character where he teased a race for the White House. And now, Spacey is back in his first leading role since controversy plagued his image and his career in 2017. In Peter Five Eight, Spacey seemingly adopts his Underwood-esque southern drawl again until it’s revealed that he’s an undercover contract killer.
Spacey is joined by Jet Jandreau, Rebecca De Mornay and Jake Webber. The film is directed by Michael Zaiko Hall, a former visual effects artist whose credits include The Incredibles 2,...

Kevin Spacey plays a killer with no moral compass in the official trailer for Peter Five Eight, which marks his first leading role since his career imploded amid allegations of sexual misconduct in 2017.
Spacey’s assassin character, Peter, has a comedic streak as he’s called to a small mountain community to find a seemingly glamorous real estate agent with a dark secret, played by Jet Jandreau.
Peter targets Brenda, played by Rebecca de Mornay, for information at the urging of his powerful and shadowy boss, Mr. Lock, played by Jake Weber. Before long, guns are drawn and fired and car chases abound in the trailer as blood splatters and explosions disturb the sleepy town. Michael Zaiko Hall directs the feature.

Spacey Wins Sex Crimes Case Court artist drawing of Kevin Spacey
“Humbled”: Kevin Spacey is a free man. On Wednesday, a UK jury found him not guilty of nine sex crime charges — the most serious of which could have seen him jailed for 10 years. Since the beginning of the trial at Southwark Crown Court in London, Spacey has cut a surprisingly relaxed figure for the most part. Being on unconditional bail, he’s been to allowed roam free between hearings and head home each evening. He sat dispassionately through the testimony of his four accusers and only showed any emotion when the defense brought character witnesses such as Jack Lemmon’s son to testify in his favor. However, the American Beauty star broke down in tears once hearing the verdict,...

Kevin Spacey has been formally charged with four counts of sexual assault against three men and will make an appearance in court this Thursday, according to London’s Crown Prosecution Service.
Spacey was first hit with the charges, which also include one count of “causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent,” in late May.
“The Cps has authorized criminal charges against Kevin Spacey, 62, for four counts of sexual assault against three men,” Rosemary Ainslie, head of the Cps Special Crime Division, said at the time. “He has also been charged with causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. The charges follow a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation.”
When he was first charged, Spacey issued a statement through a representative to ABC’s “Good Morning America,” maintaining his innocence but expressing a willingness to cooperate with the trial.
