LONDON -- U.K.-based independent distributor Revolver Entertainment has turned the page with publishing giant Pan Macmillan on a three-year film release and book tie-in.
The pact will kick off with Revolver's upcoming movie release "My Brother Is an Only Child", directed by Daniele Luchetti.
Based on the book "Il fasciocomunista" by Antonio Pennacchi, the movie and novel will be simultaneously released in cinemas and in bookstores April 4, the parties said.
Coordination between the film industry and the publishing world has traditionally been a tricky one, with publishers requiring a six-month lead time before releasing titles to the market while struggling to synchronize with a film's release plan.
But the deal offers both companies the opportunity to fully exploit marketing across their sectors. It will be executed on a case-by-case basis, the parties said, with as many as 30 titles by the end of the three year period.
"This new partnership will allow us to call on Pan Macmillan's extensive knowledge and contacts with booksellers," Revolver Entertainment chief Justin Marciano said.
